Avatar m tn I am interested in doctors who practice holistic medicine, evidence-based medicine (EBM), and anti-aging medicine (life extension or LE). I also want to avoid quacks. How do I find such a doctor? Are there organizations / websites that rate doctors in these areas? Any recommendations for such a website? Or, can you recommend a doctor in the DC area?

Avatar f tn Go to ulta and talk to their estheticians for a professional recommendation. While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Wellbutrin for about a year. It has helped me tremendously, but I have noticed drastic signs of aging in my skin. It's lost it's youthfulness, and is more wrinkled especially under my eyes. I have tried cremes, facials, peels, I drink tons of water, take a multi vitamin and omegas. Nothing works :( Is there anything I can do? The medicine has been wonderful, but my skin looks much older than it should (I am 40) and it is since I have been using Wellbutrin.
Avatar f tn Before using any serum, I'd check with your doctor to see what they recommend. Has your doctor given you any advice on what you can do to treat the alopecia and fast aging?
Avatar m tn No. You would be taking essentially 2 of the same medications as thhey are both anti psychiotics. Are these medications prescribed? That is an awfully dangerous dose of each of them. They should not be combined and you can experience EPS symtoms from that high of a dose.

She is convinced that the governor of our state is trying to "get" her, the CIA is after her, benLadin will be caught in Paris, France, etal. She thinks she is completely normal. Avatar f tn He is being kept alive by a very expensive medicine that is best thing for that type of brain cancer. That medicine is not available in Canada, (a system that Ted thinks we should emulate). If a Canadian with a brain tumor comes to the USA for MRI, brain surgery or to get that medicine the powers that be in Canada are trying to make that person pay for ALL their care out of pocket in Canada (in other words they are kicked out of the system). Physicians have no control of these.

334210 tn?1245946095 I am not familiar with the way your cholesterol was reported. The blue gray ring around the edge of the cornea is called a cornal arcus and is cholesterol deposited in one of the layers (Bowman's membrane) It is a normal part of aging after 65-70 but in younger people can be a sign of high cholesterol.
Avatar n tn It could be that some of his medications he is on is making him sleep, or he may have lack of iron that has caused anaemia. This can be quite a problem because the elderly do not always have all the necessary minerals and vitamins that the body requires to function properly. All you can do is keep him as comfortable as you can and give him what he likes to eat and drink. As you have not said whether your father has an illness, then you will know what he is allowed to consume or not.
Avatar n tn I think you should discuss this with your doctor and get an ENT referral. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn No, cancer would not cause it, probably more like aging/hormonal changes. The only test for cancer post-thyroidectomy is a thyrogen test, they inject you with thyrogen then test for a spike in your thyroglobulin. How old are you? Could you have low hormones due to aging? Sometimes they have to adjust your meds due to normal aging changes. If you are concerned about cancer, you can ask for a thyrogen test.
1102283 tn?1257817472 When I was a medical student many years ago, Lithium Carbonate was a popular prescription anti-depressant medication. Lithium is a naturally occurring mineral found in the water supply. The observation has been made that in the Texas counties with the highest lithium content in the water supply, you will find the lowest rates for homicide, suicide and violent crimes. Lithium carbonate works really well as an anti-depressant.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if a handheld LED/Ultrasound device used for skin anti-aging purposes would affect the thyroid if used over the neck, if there is a diagnosis of hypo OR hyperthyroidism? Thank you.
