angiogram

Avatar f tn Auntjessi,Yes this happened on the same day as my tka's and the term PTA in and PTA out. I asked what PTA in and out was and they said Pneumatic Tourniquet Application. I said that that does not make sense as that goes on and off unless I am missing something. I have a DRG which is a spinal cord stimulator. I also am on Butran Pain patch for pain. I have causalgia 2 of lower extremities per my pain specilaist if that helps anyone. I really appreciate all the responses!
Avatar m tn ve finally found a problem as a result of paying for a CT Coronary Angiogram. All I know right now is that I have a narrowing of the left main artery but I don't know the extent or the cause. I am now waiting to have a standard angiogram but I am supposed to be flying to the US from the UK in 3 weeks. Has anyone flown soon after an angiogram? How about after a stent? Appreciate your thoughts.
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed with PAD in Feb 2009, had PTA with stenosis in R Femoral artery, Plavix & ASA 81mg daily for 2 weeks post-op. 1 year later in Feb 2010 had recurrent claudication and another PTA in which stent was still viable. Increased Plavix & ASA 81mg to daily, indefinitely... Oct 2010 developed vertigo and high bp averaging 150/115...diagnosed with labyrinthitis, given steroid injection, Meclizine 25mg for acute vertigo, and Diazepam 2mg for sleep depriving vertigo.
Avatar m tn Published results show an Angiogram with 7mSv if it is only diagnostic and a CT-A at 16.0mSv. Therefore, the X-Ray load is more than twice as high for the CT-A.
Avatar f tn What should I do? My doc (family medicine) found this via MRI. I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant and have to lift and manage all types of patients in rehab. He prescribed me Predisone, but I don't know if I need to have any precautions as far as lift precautions or what. I also don't know whether to go get injections or go to therapy. My co-worker is a PTA and gave me some exercises, but I can bearly move today. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I want to become a PTA to help pay for my own tuition, and as well get experience before trying to become a orthopedic surgeon.
Avatar n tn An angiogram can be performed with a cath (intervention with a probe through the leg vessel to the heart), or ct scan (best is a 128 slice) that views the blood flow (dye has been injected) through the coronary arteries. There isn't a high risk with a cath, and it is not painful, but have an understanding with the doctor whether or not your father wants a stent implant if there is some blockage, and whether the stent(s) are drug coated or not (obtain an opinon what the doctor prefers).
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar m tn If anything is found, all paths will send you back to the angiogram. Even if nothing is found during the angiogram, you will know with absolute certainty that there is nothing wrong. All cardiologists have told be they have had cases where the ct has missed something and this will haunt you for years, especially if you develop symptoms. Doctors will argue there is no blockage, you will believe there is one and a huge battle starts in your mind.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar m tn i KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE ANGINA, BUT HAD A ANGIO A YEAR AGO AND WAS OK REGARDING BLOCKAGES VALVES ETC. AT THE TIME MY EF WAS BAD 15%, BUT WITH THE BP UNDER CONTROL IT CAME BACK TO 40%. FOR SOME MONTHS AFTER THIS MY EXERCISE WALKING TOLERANCE WAS OK. NOW I HAVE THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE AFTER WALKING HALF A KM . the cardio wants to do another angio? what is it? ANY IDEAS/ HELP?
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
974371 tn?1424653129 t say we have the best doctors where I live. Anyway, I am afraid an angiogram will be ordered and I really do NOT want one of those done. No way could I get through that and understand they keep you awake? Wondering if there is an alternative and if anyone has had the angiogram done and what your experiences were.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
Avatar n tn how do i intepret an angiogram result? to know which is left or right? how to know if there is a block?
329165 tn?1515471990 I had an Angiogram done in 01/2007. i have familial-cholestorol (latest lipo showed total of 6,9 fasting) During the Angio they only found coronary artery spasms. no blockages found. the past 4 weeks or so I have been experiencing chest tightness and some burning pains in chest - at rest. lasting under 1 minute and dissolves by itself. I have not been taking any Cholestorol meds (medical aid depleted) for the past 7months.
Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar m tn It felt like someone Was standing on my chest. I would push on it with two fingers and that would cause the pain to increase significantly, also any movement would put me an lots of pain. I did start to panic and felt it was time to call 911 and did so. The paramedics came quick and hooked me up to a heart monitor, they did a 12 lead ECG and the result were normal. They told me it could be muscular pain to rest.
Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
