Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of the colon

angiogram

Avatar m tn Since i did not know to ask that from primary doc. but i am sure the cardiologist will go into detail of the results of echo and I am one to ask a lot of q's.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar n tn the symptoms of headache and so on resolve, and the blood vessels return to normal. An angiogram is necessary to make the diagnosis, but additional testing that could be used in follow-up include a CT angiogram and a transcranial doppler (TCD) which is less invasive.
Avatar n tn In Aug of 2007 I had an angiogram and found out I had 5 seperate narrowings of 30 and 40 percent in my LAD and RCA. For about a month I went on a strict diet and walked a few miles every day. Then depression set in and I went on a year long ( on and off , not every week ) cocaine and depression binge. I stopped eating low fat and ate whatever I wanted at times and other times I was restrained. 2 weeks ago I went for a CT angiogram and today I got the news that my blockages are now 70 and 50.
Avatar n tn A bit of a vague report, but a follow up with the cardiologist to discuss the results should make things clearer. If you have no follow up, it might be an idea to make one. The Left anterior descending "shows plaquing" is not very detailed is it. To what extent is it plaquing. There is a blockage of 70-80% in the diagonal one, which comes off the LAD.
Avatar n tn When you have lost a spouse, brother-in-law, son and grandson to colon cancer, maybe then you will know more about what they are doing to prevent the polyps. I have a surviving 37 year old son who had his colon removed at 12. I have spent 30 years working with geneticists across the country and educating myself and family on what we can do to keep from losing another loved one to this. I never said it was a "high aspirin dosage" regimen, it varies but even 81mg is beneficial.
Avatar m tn Iam 31, 2 Months before i got the chest pain and I immediately rushed to the hospital. They did the ECG and found little changes in V4 - V5. And I went through the angiogram. The angiogram results shows negative. And doctor discharged from hospital with some prescription for 3 months. Still I am getting the pain in center of chest. Two days before I went to doctor and in ECG found the V6 changes in the lead.
Avatar n tn If needed, they can also measure the pressures in the valves during the angiogram. If you feel you have symptoms of blocked arteries, you should see your doctor.
649848 tn?1534633700 Doc said he should be happy to hear that but Rob doesnt feel that way knowing the colon to his large bowel has to be removed. CT angiogram in the next few days...will know appointment today then if this is correct (as biopsies show this) then in for surgery. The left colon is dead and he has Iscemic Colonitis. The Doc explined that it is the same as the heart....when the heart doesnt get enough oxygen and blood supply then it dies off ...this being the case with the left colon.
Avatar n tn My husband under went Colon surgery for colon cancer in 2000, he has had a total of 6 surgeries because of a perforation of the colon. In June of this year he was told that on an endscope it showed that his stomach was like a carpet of polyps, the first dr. told us that the biopsy showed that it was not cancer, we went for a 2nd opinion because my husband is experiencing alot of discomfort, feeling full no matter how little or how much he eats and nausea mot all the time.

Avatar n tn Except for a minor pricking from the injection of painkiller at the top of the leg I felt nothing whatever, watched the arteries moving on the screen and talked to the doctor while he was maneuvring around them.. As it happened, a stent was put in but again, I felt nothing. I was in truth a bit uncomfortable afterwards when the anesthetic (which is only given to avoid discomfort at the entry point) wore off but I asked for a painkiller and calmed down. Go ahead. Have no fear.
Avatar f tn specialist (which I strongly suggest). Unless the doctor can positively confirm that the cause of your bleeding is one of the minor causes (such as anal fissure or haemorrhoids) I suggest that you insist on a colonoscopy.
2158237 tn?1336756535 It means a section of your colon (in your case around the area of the sigmoid colon) is longer than what is typically considered normal. Many people with this condition descibe having 'constipation' issues. Others, although finding they have a redundant colon, have no issues at all. Most docs will typically say 'your normal' and nothing is wrong, but it will depend on what your doc thinks or his experience with this 'condition.
776302 tn?1241091853 I to yesterday had the (Wrist Dye Angiogram). I am in a shocking way. BOTH of my legs the calfs mainly, feet, all toes & soles if my feet a almost TRIPLE in size.
1690772 tn?1325629867 i had signs of angina but got told i didnt have it had loads of test then the angiogram all came back clear but around 6~8 months but a different doctor sent me a letter saying the left ventrical blood flow is slow and need to go on beta blockers?
Avatar n tn When I touch the upper colon area, and press down, I feel like my gut is full of bubbles that travel inside it back and forth. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn re absolutely sure there is no chance of pregnancy, you might consider seeing a gastroenterologist. The colon can spasm, and the most common cause is something called Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). I deal with iron deficiency anemia myself. So long as you take the amount you're supposed to, you could try taking a chelated form made by a company called Solaray.
Avatar m tn The CT scan indicates there is substanital soft plaque buildup within the linings of the vessels. A couple of years ago, my total CT score was/is over 1000 and that is supposed to indicate a high probability for a heart event within a year....waiting for the other shoe to drop!...no problems, feel fine.
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar n tn They are now thinking that it was Pericarditis (inflamation of the lining of the heart). But they did not treat it and told me to go back to work and start exercising 4 days after I had it. Not sure what to think anymore. Still having the chest pains 3 weeks later.
Avatar f tn Cardiologists have to limit the number of patients having a nuclear scan but those that do have already had an angiogram. With the results of the scan, it can be seen if an area is short of blood supply but it doesn't show why. It could be tiny vessels, it could be larger vessels. This is where the angiogram comes into play and should give obvious reasons to the cardiologist. But at least he knows where to look. Just my personal opinion.
Avatar n tn He ran a series of test and told her to return for an Angiogram on the eye with the Fovea. Why is an Angiogram necessary for this type of problem and if the Fovea is still there, is there a cure for it? What can they do for her Fovea? This discussion is related to Cataract Complication: Fovea leakage .
995628 tn?1391703105 After more tests and further surgery, it was determined to be stage III colon cancer. (yes, at 17). He is the youngest patient of his oncologist. He had six months of chemotherapy. He had two years of clean CT scans and colonoscopies. He's now 20, his cancer has reoccurred. One piece of advice for you if you find out you have cancer. You're young. You know how to Google I'm sure. Google Paul Sugarbaker. He's in Washington, D.C. He created a procedure in the 1970s.
