Avatar f tn My husband's 49 year old brother died of sudden cardiac arrest- no autopsy was done although he had many CAD risk factors (HTN, smoker, high cholesterol, family history- mother, maternal aunt, MGM, MGF, PGM). 5 weeks later his 41 year old maternal first cousin died of a sudden cardiac arrest and his autopsy is pending.
Avatar m tn A nerve conduction study should be done. A MRI of the lumbar spine should also be able to throw some light. A deep vein thrombophlebitis or intermittent claudication (spontaneous spasm and relaxation of arteries) can also cause similar symptoms. Infection of skin called cellulitis could also be a cause. It can also be infection of lymphatics. At times it is also due to low sodium, potassium, magnesium or calcium in the body. Hence serum levels of these electrolytes should also be checked.
Avatar m tn Hi ...I am so sorry to hear ur sister is in such pain....may I ask, u said she had MRI's and CT scans...were they just of her brain or did they do her cervical spine as well? Just wonder if she has a bulging disk impinging a nerve..... Sending prayers u all get answers soon.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar f tn Throbbing sensation in neck, headache, dizziness, chest pain can be due to spinal nerve compression in the cervical spine area. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression.
776302 tn?1241091853 My friend was rushed to the emergency room following a rash of violent vomiting. Long story short she had an angiogram procedure done, she felt a pain in her chest and went into cardiac arrest. after 35 minutes she was brought back. The doctor said she had 2 blood clots and it magically disappeared and no surgery was needed. She is up and very well. She feels that the angiogram caused her heart to stop.
Avatar f tn I have had CT angiogram (normal) Calcium screening ( scored 0), Stress test (normal), MRI of Cervical Spine ( lots of bulging Disks and Lesion at C-5 level), Ct of abdomen (diverticulosis), MANY EKG's (normal), Echo (normal), Corotid doppler (normal), Endoscopy (esophogitis), TONS of bloodwork (normal), I know i forgot something. This has all been going on for over 6 months now. My docs (and i have many) are all saying anxiety.
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar f tn I have also seen the Opthamologist who said one eye is like Adies and the other is like Horners Syndrome. My Neurologist now does not seem to concerned. He is ordering an MRI of the upper spine and a CT Angiogram of the chest I think to rule out Horners Syndrome. My eyesight went from -1.25 and-.75 to -2.25 and -2.00. My eyesight does seem blurry and occasion double vision. I am growing concerned as I have almost fallen, my son caught me.I am very dizzy and nauseated.
Avatar n tn I was put in CCU with a tropnin level of .28. After angiogram and other tests, I was diagnosed with Coronary Microvascular Disease. It may be something you would be interested in reading about.
Avatar m tn s bloodwork, chest xrays, a couple of ct scans, one of heart and one of abdomen and pelvis. They found a couple of minor things on my ct of abdomen and pelvis. Had scope down into stomach to look there and found i have gerd. I have 0 plaque buildup in coronary arteries. I just had ecocardiogram and corotid artery doppler done on tuesday but wont get those results till tomarrow. I am thinking it is probably not heart but spine or anxiety or both. I am still frustrated though.
Avatar n tn BACNS, or benign angiitis of the central nervous system, is one type of primary angitis of the CNS (PACNS). There are a few types of PACNS, including GACNS (a pathologic diagnosis made by biopsy), and BACNS, a diagnosis which is made by angiography (a procedure whereby dye is injected into the blood vessels of the brain and they are visualized).
Avatar n tn They did an ECHO stress test and found some blockage in the back of my heart. They then requested me to do an Angiogram for them to see better in to my heart. I did and I was sent home after 4 hours. They said I am OK. Thats all. I saw my cardios letter while I was with my own GP.
Avatar m tn Some are left dominant where the LAD and LCX supply most of the back of the heart. Some are right dominant where the RCA does this job. You simply have a dominant right side which supplies the back of the heart and I believe probably the AV node too. It's really just the way your plumbing is made up and is of no concern at all. Your LCX will be a relatively short vessel compared to someone who is left dominant because the LCX comes from the LAD (left anterior descending).
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar f tn d be doing without this forum everyone is so nice and knowledgeable.
Avatar n tn If there are blockages, a stent implant (usually done at time of angiogram) will increase the diameter of the occlusion/occlusions permitting more blood to the deficit area. Sometimes the area of blockage can not be stented because of location, tortuous segment, too long, etc...then a bypass surgical operation may be the only remedy. Alternatively, some people find relief from chest pain with medication.
Avatar m tn Is the angiogram of leg advisable for the patients suffering from diabetics and foot ulcer? Please do reply for my question....
Avatar n tn bih=661 With this image, imagine you are standing in front of a mirror looking at your heart. The right side of the diagram is the left side of the heart. Dotted arteries are at the back.
