Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of small intestine

angiogram

Avatar m tn Hi Bobby, narrowing of the small intestine, or indeed the colon (large intestine) is called stricturing, and is usually caused by inflammation of the mucosal lining. Although I have had Crohn's Colitis (Crohns in both small and large intestines) for 40 yrs, until last year it has always been controlled, barring periodic flares, by medication.
Avatar n tn re getting a pain in the same place may not mean a stricture of the small intestine. You could have developed adhesions, or a myriad of things could occur in surrounding organs that could give referred pain. Check with you doc before you jump to any conclusions.
Avatar m tn I am pregnant and had to have emergency surgery had a hole in my small intestine. Had 2 ft of it removed. I am now home and my incision was not healing just coming apart.. So went back to the surgeon and he cut me open again.. And said they were going to have Home Health come by the next day to my home and put a vacuum pack on me.. Well they called me that evening and said Home Health would not do it to a pregnant woman.. My incision is not closed and my baby is due on the 24 of December..
Avatar n tn I am extremely concerned that this is a rare variant of primary small intestine lymphoma. The thickening of the jejunum and the malabsorption particularly worry me. Does lymphoma seem possible to you, or likely? Can there be idiopathic reasons for malabsorption, or perhaps even stress?
Avatar n tn My 23 days old newborn baby girl was operated on small intestine blockage and surgeon had removed 13" of small intestine 15 days back. She still have green vomit through NG tbe and not taking any feed. X-ray shows there not any more obstruction. What could be the cause and when should she start feeding and should stop green bile through ng tube. She even has passing stool of green in color.
Avatar n tn After almost dying, she had her entire small intestine removed. Up till now, she has survived with TPN only and cannot tolerate whole foods. She wears a bag to her stoma removing the bile and found out on Friday three days ago, that her gall bladder must be removed laproscopically. Until then, she was waiting to hear from the insurance if she would be able to move forward for a 'live' small transplant or a cadaver's.
Avatar m tn Guys, read how this Chinese doctor is curing IBD such as crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis with one FMT dose but instead of injecting fecal matter up from anus, he’s using a tube through the mouth or nose leading past the stomach and right into the small intestine. Very clever. The results have been phenomenal. So my idea is not so bad after all.
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar m tn that allows for measured amounts of contents to move from the end of the small intestine into the large intestine. You may find that you have more frequent bowel movements or fecal material passage into and through the large intestine. It it sometimes referred to as 'dumping' issues.
Avatar m tn What kind of biopsy? What about an angiogram? Would that be a regular angiogram or would the dr. have to go in the small artery or vessel and how would they know what vessel or artery to go in thru since it's a small artery or vessels.
Avatar n tn The last 3 feet of the small intestine, referred to as the terminal ileum, is where most of the bile from the gall bladder used to digest food thru the small intestine is removed. The colon's interior is much more sensitve to bile than the small intestine (ileum). The bile irritates the colon and interferes w/its ability to absorb the "water" from the stool - and voila - diarrhea. That wall thickening does sound very suggestive of Crohn's disease. Moreso than cancer.
Avatar f tn AVM or arteriovenous malformations- Most frequently, the cause of small intestine bleeding is caused by angioectasias, or arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Fully 30 percent to 40 percent of instances of small intestine bleeding occur when these abnormal blood vessels, which are located inside the lining of the small intestine, rupture.
Avatar f tn So after 5 years of no answers for all my abdominal pain, bloating, and severe acid reflux and GERD - my new gastroenterologist diagnosed me with bacterial overgrowth of my small intestine. I've already taken 2 rounds of antibiotics. The first time I took them about a month ago, and it relieved ALL my symptoms very quickly, but they all came back 2 weeks after.
Avatar f tn My 62 yr old brother in law just a carcinoid (sp?) removed from the small intestine. Dr. has told him it will take the biopsy at least a week to get results and the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. No treatment was mentioned. ANY information is appreciated.
Avatar n tn t think that a colonoscopy can reach the small intestine - I thought only the large intestine. The small intestine needs to be examined through an ESSB (Esophagus, Stomach, and Small Bowel) test (you drink a barium milkshake and they watch it pass through your system while taking x-rays). The doctor must be talking about your large intestine . I would clarify with the doctor. Not sure if the biopsy would detect yeast overgrowth - :( sorry,.
Avatar m tn My mother-in-law just went through extensive surgery for complications with diverticular disease. She had part of her upper intestine removed, and there were complcations with the the bladder. They had to operate under emergency circumstances because of an infection that bursted. This happened about two months ago. Shes been taking antibiotics since. She recently had been going through a couple of days of intense pain when trying to pee, and she was unsuccesful peeing, just a few drops.
Avatar f tn They were able to see the end of the small intestine/beginning of the large intestine. The valve at the end of the small intestine/beginning of the large intestine was in the proper position and the contents of the small intestine that should flow through to the large intestine did not 'back up' and move backwards into the small intestine (reflux into the terminal ileal loops). You have a slightly longer length of colon that is found at the top of the ascending colon (hepatic flexure).

351846 tn?1273615544 It sounds like your wife had a duodenal ulcer, and one in the small intestine, which would have required part of her small intestine be removed not just the stomach. I would seek a second or even third opinion on this. Good luck and take care.
Avatar f tn My ejection fraction was 87.8%. Excretion into the small intestine was seen 15-20min. postinjection. Mild symptoms were reproduced with the cholecystokinin injection with relatively rapid transit of the radiopharmaceutical through the small intestine. When I have pain it is usually epigastric followed by diarrhea. I have some vague right sided abd pain. This past episode though, I have severe pain between my shoulder blades especially on the left side. It hurts when taking a deep breath.
Avatar f tn I still have all but about 4 -5 inches of my small intestine, they removed about 4-5 inches of my ileium when they did the surgery. I have about 4+ inches of my colon that is attached to my rectum/anus left, but it is sitting there unused. My underlying problem was Crohn's disease. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
