angiogram

359574 tn?1328360424 I had my initial appointment with a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins yesterday about my brain aneurysm. She is not happy with the quality of the angiogram I had done in March, and wants me to have one done at Hopkins. Then she would follow up with me, and also have me see another neuro-ophthalmalogist while I'm there. I will have to schedule it around my work, so it may not be until sometime next year.
307874 tn?1242755798 Guess what everyone week before last they finally put my EEG on my chart and put it on the doctors desk and I still have not heard anything. I really thought this neuro would be great. They get huffy if you call alot. I called and asked for some more samples of Lyrica because they wanted me to take them I had one pill left after calling the nurse and asking for prescription or samples.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Well the angiogram was normal.....as I expected. He wasn't going to commit to the neuro referral "yet" he said. He believes its RP. On another note I failed the two visual fields tests done that day. I'm very frustrated, because I can see fine. In the VF tests I can't distinguish between the flashing lights and the flashes I have all the time. I've told them that MANY times, but they insist that is the proper test.
Avatar f tn When I originally had my MRV is showed narrowing of vessels on one side. So they scheduled me for an angiogram thinking I may have a blood clot. Well thank God it turns out that I did not and the angiogram was negative of any stenosis or any other findings. Which I assume is a good thing, right. Why would the MRV show one thing and the angiogram show another? Could the increased pressure be what made the vessels appear to be smaller on one side?
649926 tn?1297657780 is sending me for a cerebral angiogram and wants to re-evaluate the M.S diagnosis. Could all of these symptoms / tests be one disease and if not what are your thoughts like why the angiogram? Please help, I feel like I am back at ground zero. Thank you for your time and input.
Avatar n tn It seems that a retinal abnormality would be easily seen on OCT scan and IVFA angiogram. If those were normal, then I would focus mostly on the optic nerve -but usually neuro-ophthalmologists can find almost any optic nerve disorder. Make sure she has a Brain MRI to look for any central problem in the visual pathway or visual cortex. Sorry, no other thoughts.
359574 tn?1328360424 He would like for me to have a cerebral angiogram so he can see a better picture of my 5mm aneurysm that was on the MRA taken by my neurologist. Then he will help me decide whether it should be watched or treated, if so how, and whether it could be the cause of my eye pain. The neuro-ophth sticks by her dx of TN and doesn't think the aneurysm is related since it isn't where it could touch the trigeminal nerve branches in the cavernous sinus.
359574 tn?1328360424 He says that even though the annie is larger than we thought at 8mm, it’s still officially small and not likely to rupture (less than .5% per year). He wants me to have a CT angiogram in a year to make sure it’s not growing. That’s just a CAT scan with dye—nothing invasive like the full-blown angiogram I had in April. He says it is located within the cavernous sinus, which means it is protected by bone.
Avatar m tn I was in rear-ended in an MVA in April 09 since then I have had a headache almost everyday along with Migraines 2 to 3 x a week, I had MRI with Contrast and Neuro DR.
Avatar f tn I'm still in limbo land (since April 07), but have new findings on my annual MRI. I hope someone can help me interpret - I've been unable to decipher the medical journals I find online. I'm a 49 y.o. female with MS symptoms, although my neuro prefers to call it 'chronic inflammation of the brain'. (Sigh). Anyway, here's what's new on the MRI ... The lateral ventricle, third ventricle and the fourth ventricles are slightly enlarged.
Avatar n tn 2011 she got admitted in hospital for neuro stroke, now dr suggested to take mri angiogram of brain.these are findings of mri angiogram of brain 1)Lacunar infarcts in bilateral subcortical frontal, parietal & occipital white matter.2)Acute infarct in left ACA territory.3)Diffuse cerebral & cerebellar atrophy.4)Occluded right ICA with reformation of MCA by PCOM.5)Atheromatous disease in left M1 with reduced calibre of M2/M3 and focal narrowing at M2.
3054080 tn?1358722856 I'm so sorry that you were treated like that. I know it's hard to find a doctor that you feel is willing to listen to you. I feel like I've been having another flare and my neuro told me to take my blood pressure every night until I see her next time. It seems like they see and here only what they want to. I think you did a really good job telling him you didn't know what it was and weren't trying to self diagnose. I think I would honestly look for for a second opinion.
Avatar f tn MRI revealed bleed from cavernous angioma in brain stem, left penducle, cerebellum. Angiogram showed bleeding stopped but had surgery to have it removed. There were signs it had bled before. I had never been very coordinated and had also suffered a number of serious knocks on the head including a concussion as a kid. All seemed well post surgery until I went back to work six months later.
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm 40/m/190lbs/6'0" non-smoker, non-drinker, don't exercise, and haven't eaten very healthy over my life. Suddenly in Jan of 2019 I started to feel faint, my heart starts beating hard and fast, cold sweat, nausea, cold shivers, slight tightness in chest, hard to breathe (like someone was sitting on my chest.) and extreme exhaustion. Rushed to the ER, taken in as a heart attack, verified it was not a heart attack. After a couple hours felt better and was sent home.
Avatar f tn Hubby wasn't bedridden, Physical Therapy had him up and walking around. He'd already had 2 TIA's in one day and was fine after both, even passed his Neuro checks. It wasn't until after his Angiogram and they had hooked his Heparin Drip back up that he had his 3rd TIA. And according to the Dr. that is what caused 3rd TIA plus his BP going up and down like crazy. We are getting very discouraged because of what happened.
Avatar f tn Is it really necessary for me to have an angiogram after finding out I have small aneurism in my head? The aneurism is 3 mm, I am a healthy 37 year old female. Should I get a second opinion? It really seems unnecessary for me to have a cath and camera into my brain for an aneurism they say is small and not to worry about it???
Avatar n tn I have been to both an optometrist and a retinal specialst. I had a florusciene angiogram and a tomography scan performed. No blockage or obstruction was observed to reduce or stop blood flow to the effected area. However the effected area did show up on the angiogram as a slightly discolored area. No visceral fluid or retinal tearing was found. I have had a doppler ultrasound to my carotids and everything showed clear and normal.
Avatar f tn Probably you had a concussion and having Post Concussion effects. You can consult a Neuro-Otologist and Neurologist and see if you have any inner ear issues. Reason for dizziness can be very many. Get an MRI done to be safe.
469349 tn?1217606941 After complaining of pulsatile tinnitus, extreme headaches, blurred vission, red eye...I had MRA..MRI with and w/out contrast...carotid ultrasound...ct scans ... and an angiogram that led to 8 coils embolization to left jugular vein on April 23rd. The headaches remained and stronger than ever...the eye redness and vission gotten worst day by day and having blackout episodes I went to the ophtalmologyst were they found papilledema and diagnosed me with Pseudotumor cerebri...
Avatar m tn I went to the Casey Eye Institute right away (because I do have actual eye problems, including non-age-related macular problems.) However, they did every conceivable kind of exam, including a dye-enhanced angiogram, and then said that the pre-existing problems I already had were basically stable and just did not explain what I was now seeing at all.
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
329165 tn?1515471990 I had an Angiogram done in 01/2007. i have familial-cholestorol (latest lipo showed total of 6,9 fasting) During the Angio they only found coronary artery spasms. no blockages found. the past 4 weeks or so I have been experiencing chest tightness and some burning pains in chest - at rest. lasting under 1 minute and dissolves by itself. I have not been taking any Cholestorol meds (medical aid depleted) for the past 7months.
Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
