but, this warrants more study to be sure. If enough evidence existed for more study a CT angiogram scan, 3d turbo MRI, or cath angiogram would be done next. These can cost several thousand $$. This is your heart, I would seriously press the doctors that looked at you to see if this is needed and pay for the tests.
The hole in your heart for 8 weeks premie is common. When we are still in utero the hole actually makes gas exchange more efficient. It closes by full term.
His answer was it is due to family history and never recommended anything. Before my husband started seeing the doctor he had an angiogram and had no plaque. Two years later he ends up having 2 blocked arteries one 95% and a stent put in. I think it was the doctors resonsiblity to tell my husband to go on meds . He was of perfect weight and eats healthy and excecises. To go from no plaque to 95% block makes sense since he was never told to go on drugs. WHat do you think.
I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure.
Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.

My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication.

A CT angiogram is more sensitive than a straight forward angiogram. They both rely on a radioactive substance being injected into your blood stream and it's this which the scanners pick up. If a CT angiogram doesn't reveal a vessel, then no way will an angiogram.

I think another angiogram is your best option personally. It will show how clear your vessels are but ask them to do a FFR on your coronary arteries. This is a tiny sensor which gives the cardiologist the blood flow rate. Without this test, they are simply going by visual signs which is an inaccurate method. The tests indicated a blockage. I am now waiting for an angiogram. They put me on drugs after the test. I am on 1.25mg Monocor, 5mg Norvasc, 10mg Crestor as well as ASA 81mg - one per day. First, my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mom. That's so hard. I lost my mom when she was just 52 years old and have never fully recovered to be honest. Her situation was termed a 'medical misadventure' during her autopsy which is code for malpractice. My mom's malpractice issue was follow up of care post surgery. She died of sepsis and had signs of it that the doctor did not follow up on.
CT scan 64-slice angiogram as well as a cath angiogram is by definition an angiogram as both involve a dye injection, but there is more intense radiation exposure with CT angiogram. It is fast becoming the radiological test of choice to look at disease of blood vessels. The next generation of a ct scan will reduce the individual's radiation exposure.
The ct angiogram involves an assessment of the body of the vessels as well as the lumen.
