Angiogram interpretation

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram interpretation

angiogram

Avatar f tn You could have a stress echo which will see any abnormal wall motion when the heart is working hard. However, the gold standard is still the angiogram. You do know that smoking is continually damaging your arteries? You've probably been told this a million times, but if you are concerned about your heart, you would stop.
Avatar n tn I have had a echo come back abnormal, echo bubble test them come back abnormal, then my TEE showed no PFO, had a CT angiogram with contrast pulmonary and heart. 1. Left anterior descending        CAD-RADS 3    - % Stenosis:  50-69%    - Interpretation:  Moderate stenosis  . I had soft and hard plaque seen in my LAD. ER sent me to have emergency Cath. Was prepared for stints and more if needed and coronary disease. He goes in and they said it was clear. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn t moving as quickly as the rest which could be lack a restriction in blood flow. If you had an angiogram a year after that, it can look very different indeed, depending how quickly the disease progresses, if at all. It obviously depends on many things such as diet, exercise, genetics, stress levels, cholesterol levels, blood pressure etc etc. The angiogram results you have there, three years old, are basically useless now unless they need to look at the history.
Avatar m tn Much tissue between the probe and the heart makes interpretation more difficult but even if that is not the case and the quality of the echo images is classified as "good", EF fraction is still a rough estimate (as many other measurements).
Avatar m tn The first showed excellent perfusion of all heart tissue, but this seemed to totally contradict the images from my angiogram. I was have been classed as normal/fit if the angiogram wasn't done first. The second didn't show anything either, but the third revealed some ischemia in the left ventricle. The scans are given to experts to evaluate and they then produce a document for the cardiologist with their findings.
Avatar m tn scan shows medium sized fixed perfusion defect of moderate severity Involve mid-cavity to basal inferolateral wall. There is no evidence of inducible ischemia/ Viability LV myocardium is normally perfused. LV cavity is normal sized. Conclusion: Exercise myocardial SPECT study at 100% predicted HR and 10.9 METS is negative for inducible Ischemia/viability There is evidence of medium sized fixed perfusion defect of moderate severity involving mid-cavity to basal inferolateral wall.
Avatar f tn I was very lucky in that I had already had an angiogram which showed my left artery as being a real mess, there was hardly anything in the vessel. A nuclear test was performed to see if ischemia was present, or any heart tissue had died. The results showed that the perfusion of all heart tissue was fantastic and there were no areas with a deficit of blood supply.
Avatar m tn 58 year old female with long-standing hypertension (30 mg Benazepril daily). Wt, chol, lipids, glucose, etc. all good. Last year, my primary referred me to a Cardio for a 24 hour Holter for palpitations. The cardiologists' comment on the ECG was "non specific ST and T wave changes." This May, after resuming regular exercise (daily 2.
Avatar f tn While the Echo is a very good test for looking at the function of the ventricles and such, I would think before they can tell anything about blockages they would have to do an angiogram. Did they do a heart cath?
Avatar n tn While the ECG, cardiac enzyme tests (like troponin) and echo can simulate the picture of an acute heart attack, a coronary angiogram will not show a lesion/thrombus. Most of the time, this apical ballooning is reversible with time, and the cardiac function improves over a period of weeks to months. Arrhythmias are known to occur during this period.
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
329165 tn?1515471990 I had an Angiogram done in 01/2007. i have familial-cholestorol (latest lipo showed total of 6,9 fasting) During the Angio they only found coronary artery spasms. no blockages found. the past 4 weeks or so I have been experiencing chest tightness and some burning pains in chest - at rest. lasting under 1 minute and dissolves by itself. I have not been taking any Cholestorol meds (medical aid depleted) for the past 7months.
Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar n tn hey my dad is suppose to go in for an angiogram but he fears what might happen to him if he does. i was wondering if there was possible any alternative procedure or something else he could possibly do.
Avatar n tn how do i intepret an angiogram result? to know which is left or right? how to know if there is a block?
