angiogram

Avatar f tn I've seen seeing these flashes in both of my eyes for almost a year now, flashes are like spots in my vision that appear and disappear when I move my eyes around and they are a LOT more visible on white surfaces, saw two eye specialists last month but I forgot to mention this, they both said my retinas are completely fine.
Avatar f tn Did they test your sodium level in your blood or a 24 hour urine test for sodium? What about testing your thyroid function & ADH or antidiuretic hormone, which helps regulate water in your body? Did they do a color doppler on your legs to test circulation? Peripheral vascular disease can affect extremities with pain and swelling. My grandma had PVD. Your heart's okay you say, but what about your triglycerides and cholesterol levels?
Avatar n tn I had a CT angiogram for heart this week. Compared to a regular angiogram or catheterization , the CT angiogram can be considered a noninvasive procedure. However, in your dad's case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar f tn My husband, 79 yrs, has been experiencing difficulty in walking more than 50 yds, some motor balance problem, numb feet and lower legs for some 6-7 yrs and problem is getting increasingly worse. He has seen a vascular surgeon and had a stent put in right leg 6 yrs ago for pvd, cardiologist, (angiogram showed one blocked artery of long standing, Cardio said not the problem and referred him to a neurosurgeon for suspected spinal cancal stenosis.
Avatar m tn My vision is not distorted in any way except for the presence of the thin line. I had a full dilation exam with a board certified ophthalmologist that consisted of visual inspections of the retina using various lenses and lights. A fluorescein angiogram was not performed. I have experienced a marked increase in perceived vascularity in the eye over the year prior the formation of the line.
Avatar m tn Thank you for the advice. I will hold off on it until my exam in October and go from there.
Avatar f tn I understand that I will likely encounter flashes and/or floaters when the right eye PVD advances and then the first several weeks will be critical for tear, etc. My questions are: when is that likely to occur? Does it typically take this long? Will it behave similar to the left eye, or worse since that eye is more myopic. Is there a chance I won’t have a symptom’s? No family history of retinal detachment.
Avatar f tn J pouches work well for people who DO NOT have PVD. I do. So I have been told that I may end up having to wear a bag the rest of my life. Even that would be better than what I'm going through. As I'm sure you understand.
Avatar m tn My retinal specialist said I suffered severe retinal cell damage based on the OCT and that there is absolutely no cure or recovery for me, I have to live with this extremely poor nearly non-existent vision for the rest of my life. Doctors, please take a look at these pictures and give me your honest opinions on what is going on with my eye and if there is any slight chance for improvement, I really appreciate it. Avatar n tn What would cause this, the sun sensitivity in the pvd eye? My vision is fine, unaffected by the pvd. Thanks for any information you can give me.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your recent answer to my question about PVD. I was diagnosed with an incomplete PVD a year ago. My local opthamologist said my retina looked fine. I seen him again 2 months ago and he said everything still looked the same. I still get occasionally lightning like flashes with it in my peripheral vision if I move my head quick. So I was wondering.... When am I out of the woods with this thing for a retinal detachment?
Avatar f tn I have an ongoing acute PVD in my right eye and have had laser treatment for a tear. When I went to have this checked, I was told that there was an old asymptomatic tear in my left eye, and this was treated as a preventative measure. When I went to have this checked 5 days later, I was told that PVD had not yet taken place in my left eye. I am now worried that the treatment of an asymptomatic healed tear prior to PVD in my left eye will have made the eye weaker than before treatment.
Avatar f tn If your Eye Doctor suspect PVD,is there a definite way for him to know that is what is going on, or is it more of guessing by your symptoms and the lack of other eye issues at that time?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Weiss' Ring (PVD) on Christmas night. In addition to needing to find a retina specialist who can deal with a retina tear if that should happen in the ensuing days/weeks, I need some information, please... Is it really true, as I was told in the emergency room, that the brain compensates for this huge floater (it's in the form of a J with a ball at the end of it) and that after about a month I won't see it anymore?
Avatar f tn Can this happen usually after prohalytic laser 360 ? And am I at high risk for a rerinal detaxhmet. Now that I have PVD ..
Avatar n tn Also Dr Hagen, I know we have had a discussion regarding RPE tears. In your experience does PVD occur more commonly in eyes with PVD in your practice? I have read some papers hinting that vitreous traction through the retina may actually promote a RPE tear where there is already a PED.
Avatar n tn Some doctors believe that ERMs continue to progress for months or even years. However Dr. Charles believes that an ERM stops progressing after about a month. (It was my personal experience that Dr. Charles is a marvelous retinal surgeon.) There is a large body of evidence suggesting that early surgery has better results in terms of improved acuity and reduction of distortion. In addition, after some time (one researcher speculated about 18 months), damage from an ERM may be irreversible.
Avatar n tn A complete PVD will reduce your risk of retinal tears and detachment. A complete PVD can take several months. A follow-up is necessary b/c while PVD is occuring you are at a greater risk of experiencing a retinal tear/break which could lead to detachment.
Avatar m tn Is a PVD the same as vitreous seperation? I've been disgnosed with vitreous seperation in my left eye and am curious if thats the same as having a PVD in my left eye.
Avatar f tn Does having a PVD in your eye mean that you will have visual problems later? Such as cataracts, macular degeneration, blindness?? Or will u see fine once the PVD is fully detached w/ no retinal problems? Thanks...
Avatar m tn I got PVD at 21 i seen a eye doctor 2 times and he didn't no what was wrong with me and then i was sent to a specialist who said i have PVD.
Avatar m tn I just thought I ask you for more info on the PVD and my eye problem. I was recently diagnosed with PVD and at the same time I have allergies. On my first visit to the Ophthalmologist in April and follow up about 10 days later, I was told I was OK. Then 2 weeks later, sometimes in May 2010 I accidentaly poked my eye with newspaper when I pulled it out of my mailbox. I scratched my cornea and was treated with antibiotic and softlense bandage.
