Yes you can be bloated
without having diarrhea
or constipation. Try keeping a
food diary and tracking how you feel and the degree of bloating. Distension can often come from foods that aren't being digested properly and you have to try to track down the cause. If you have to, try some exclusion diets. Some typical culprits can be dairy products, high fructose corn syrup, and gluten (wheat, rye, barley, etc). Diets high in carbohydrate can also cause bloating.
