1394098 tn?1385960134 You are almost there congrats to you and hang in there. What is weird is my cats, since I have been on treatment, have been following me all over and when I am in my bedroom they pace up and down the hall and cry at the door. My fiance just this morning said he thinks they know I am sick or at least know something is wrong since I have not been as attentive to them. That said I'm surprised my fiance has not been doing the same as the cats since he is extremly neglected.
Avatar f tn Well she is 15yrs old and lost all teeth except the bottom fang on right side it is black at bottom of tooth. I can't afford $300+ for extraction. I called a vet today and asked it we could just wrap her up numb it and pull it w/out cost of anesthesia I was told no. I mixed tuna juice w/ amoxicillin cap(500mg) and gave her 32mg hoping to help her infection and pain. Have you ever known any vets to use local to pull a tooth?
Avatar m tn Hello, I need help, My oldest and dearest cat Tommy (13 years old) about 7 or 8 months ago developed this lump on his back on the side. It ended up opening up and I kept it clean and treated and it healed with in a week or so. I didnt really think much of it until it appeared again a few weeks ago. The thing is this time along with the one large "bump" with in a few days he had developed at least 10 more small bumps on his skin.
Avatar n tn Drooling is absolutely a possible side effect of amoxicillin. Also look for lack of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting. Signs of liver disfunction, like jaundice of the eyes, skin etc. are less likely but also possible. There are also more severe symptoms of anaphylactic shock (allergic reaction) that could occur if you continue giving the medication. The best course of action is to discontinue the amoxicillin and take your kitty in to the vet as soon as possible. Welcome to the forum.
Avatar m tn anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Avatar f tn My cat had an abscess on his back - which I have enough experience with to treat myself. I have owned cats for 30 years. I have been able to clear and heal the wound and have been dosing him with amoxicillin. He seems to have an allergy to this antibiotic as I have discovered hes been throwing up in the basement. This is the usual drug I use to treat abscess-type infections and I want to make sure the interior infection clears up.
372900 tn?1315512302 Well, I have two cats, right? One of them experienced side effects to flea treatment. The other one was fine all the time. Side effects: Redness, itchy skin, and hair loss. The third month everything was fine. But he did experience side effects. The product is Revolution, but it works beautifully!
Avatar m tn Hey Natasha, welcome to the forum, but no, no, no. While amoxicillin IS used on cats, it's impossible to say how much of a 250mg capsule to give since kitty is much smaller than we are. And besides, you don't know What the lump is or even if it would respond to an antibiotic. Just as a good rule of thumb, never give human meds to kitty. Please give your vet a call on this one.
Avatar n tn The doctor put me now on flagyl and Amoxicillin. He told me that one of the serious side eefects can be numbness (from Flagyl I think) and that I should stop immediately. Last night I began the treatment (4 times a day 250mg pills). I woke up with a light pain/numbness on my left arm, with a tickling feeling occasionally on my left palm. I would really like to continue this drug as I have read positive things about it, and also because I have lost faith on Doxycycline.
7558356 tn?1410715309 My doctor put me on it because my GBS was causing me to go into preterm labor. Since being on the amoxicillin, the contractions have slowed down, but are way more painful than before, they just aren't coming as frequently. But the weird thing is, since I've been on the amoxicillin I've gained 5 pounds, my hands and feet are extremely swollen (I literally lost my ankles) and I've been having shortness of breath from walking literally to the kitchen.
702036 tn?1259539116 No, amoxicillin will not effect the outcome of your treatment. If you have an infection, you should take it as long as you are not allergic to penicillin derivatives. Your liver will be fine. I was on very high powered antibiotics twice and still UND.
Avatar n tn I was given a prescription of more darvocet and amoxicillin 500mg. well the amoxicillin gave me bad side effects, nausea, vomitting, diarehea. so i stopped taking them. i notified the dentist 10/9/06 of the amoxicillin side effects i was then told i probably didn't need them and not to worry about taking another antibiotic. on 10/10/06 i awoke to find my face on the left side swollen and painful.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if a side effect from a long term abscessed tooth can be blood in his semen. A doctor put him on Amoxicillin 1500mg every 8 hours for 6 doses then 500mg every 8 hours for 14 days. Is this proper treatment?
1090937 tn?1259215095 It may be due to mainly the fact that the child is in less pain and thus is catching up on lost or disturbed sleep. However watch out for rash and loose stool, which are the commonest side effects. If the child remains sleepy even after 24-48 hours consult the doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
676912 tn?1332812551 It is also reasonable to expect that an overdose would cause any of the usual amoxicillin side effects, but perhaps more severely. For instance, it is possible that nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea would occur. Treatment for an Amoxicillin Overdose The treatment for an amoxicillin overdose will vary. If the overdose was recent, a healthcare provider may administer certain medicines or place a tube into the stomach to "pump the stomach.
Avatar m tn They are often prescribed together. There is some question whether Buspar works at all, but some believe it does help Paxil work better. As for withdrawal being "easily" remedied, I wonder if that poster has ever been on Paxil or any other ssri? Easy isn't really the description many would use. And I don't think that difference in dosage will affect your withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Nothing in life and medicine and medication is without possible side effects. On the whole your risks are likely much higher not taking the medicine rather than taking as directed.
Avatar n tn I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
Avatar m tn I have been giving them amoxicillin through their moms because they are too young to eat it through food. I cant afford to go to the vet and get the amoxicillin through them its about 10 times the price. Can someone please give me any advice? someone who maybe has dealt with this before? is there an eye drop I can buy? I have been giving them the medicine for over a week and its only gotten worse now my momma cats have it.
Avatar m tn s a prescription, it is at a higher dose. The amoxicillin is an antibiotic, as you likely already know. The most common side effects with either of these is stomach upset or pain. If either occurs, discontinue and consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn He had dental surgery done and they gave him Convenia without explaining the risks and or side effects to me, nor giving me an alternative for him. Anyways, he is now having small episodes of his head twitching / shaking. I called my vet doctor, they said to keep an eye on him and to bring him in after 5 days, if he's still having these symptoms. But I am concerned now! He was perfectly healthy before his dental surgery.
