unisom sleep tabs are a category b and are safe for pregnancy.

I know of at least 2 other women that were prescribed Ambien during pregnancy for OCCASIONAL sleepless nights...maybe you could look into that? Unisom seems like it wouldn't be that effective to me but I dunno maybe someone else has experience with it.

I was previously on Ambien. I actually quit taking that and now use Unisom sleep tablets and they work very well. My OB assured me that Ambien was okay, but I figured I would try over the counter first and it works great for me. Can't help you on the other. Good luck.

I have read that taking Doxylamine (Unisom) lowers thyroid hormone output. Has anyone had any experience with this? I take Unisom regularly as it seems to work the best out of all the other sleep aids.

My doctor prescribed me Ambien at 13 weeks. All the over the counter stuff hypes me up. I took Ambien with our first son, and he is perfectly fine.

I have been struggling with sleep since about week 8 or 9. My OB prescribed me Ambien to help. The RX had 20 in the bottle.. I finished in less than 30 days. Guessing about 23 days.. She inatructed me to take the meds for sleeplessness nights, but not every night, as the drug could possibly pass to the baby. I am no longer taking ambien and have been taking OTC Unisom. Which is safe during pregnancy. Even when taken at 8-9pm im still wide awake until 2-3 am. What can i do?

You can Take benadryl and unisom. Unisom taken with vitamin b12 they actually prescribe to help with morning sickness.

No naps or attempted naps during the day.And what sleeping pill do you have?I had ambien and what I did was waited until like 12 or one when I was actually sure I would not sleep and then took the ambien.I discontinued this after a few more days.I would not use the sleepers every night if I were you.If you do the things above it could bump your sleep up to 3 or more hours a night intead of one.

Do regular casual exercise, concentrate on some fine work like reading a book, listening to soft music, have warm shower and a gentle body massage prior to sleep. Continue Unisom, but better to get a review from the attending physician. Ambien is good choice for treatment of insomnia, but it is intended for short-term use. Elavil/Endep can be tried if you are not comfortable with Ambien and it is a non-addictive drug.

If your asking if you can fail a drug test by taking over the counter unisom the answer is no. I used to work in a clinic where we did random and pre-employment drugscreens for many area companies including the hospital where we were located. A drug screen tests for marijuana,cocaine,PCP,benzodiazipene and meth.

My Dr. prescribed me Unisom with Vitamin B6 for my nausea, but he told me that the Unisom is so I can sleep at night and not wake up throwing up all the time, so I took them and boy did they work. I couldn't take the Unisom and Vitamin B6 during the day because I would pass out lol, so I could only use it at night my Dr had to prescribe me something else to help ease my nausea during the day (Zofran).

You and me both girl! My doctor was talking about how doctors will prescribe ambien to help women sleep, but I've just been taking unisom. Some women take benedryl. Unisom and benedryl have the same ingredient (diphenhydramine) that will help you sleep. I think its much safer than ambien because ambien is a benzodiazapine which is extreamly addictive (ambien is in the same group of drugs as xanax).

On June 26, I took 12.5 mg of unisom (doxyalamine succinate) to help me sleep (half of a tablet) and the next day, I had some tinnitus and developed some very annoying myoclonic jerks when I was trying to drift off to sleep at night. On July 4, I took a second 12.5 mg dose of unisom to help me sleep again and that night, I noticed muscle twitching (in addition to the jerks) in my legs, mostly. I didn't yet suspect the unisom, but on July 6, I took one more 12.

For sleeping my Dr told me unisom. It has the same stuff as benedryl to knock u out. I've heard of doctors prescribing ambien but I'm very warry about what I put into my body and I know that ambien is a benzo, same as xanax, and I wouldn't want to become dependent on it..

Ask your dr for something. Mine gave me ambien and i sleep like a baby. I only take a half pill tho... wait where did that term come from sleep like a baby cuz they dont sleep very well....

My dr. told me to take unisom tablets for insomnia & it has worked like a charm for me. I bought walmart brand called equate nighttime sleep aid. Give it a try & youll be asleep in no time. Dont get the gelcaps, they have a diff ingredient..

My doctor said Unisom is perfectly safe to take your entire pregnancy, up to 50mg. It works for me! Also you can take Tylenol PM, but only up to 36 weeks because it can affect your milk supply if you want to breastfeed.

My doctor prescribed me paxil for my anxiety and depression and i take two ativan before bed. that still does not work, i also take a unisom (sleeping pill) along with a tablet of meleton one hour before bed. Then I sleep, but why do I need all this to just sleep? Can someone tell me why I cannot sleep normally?

Which one are you currently taking? I have not kept my feelings about ambien a secret here. AMBIEN almost ruined my life. It almost caused me to kill myself many times over, and I have no doubt if I would have kept using it I would not be able to type this because I would be DEAD! Go back and read my journals about the ambien. It has become my mission in life to show people what could happen with that drug.

Ask your doctor about unisom I take 1/2 tab before bed and it helps me.
