Common Questions and Answers about Allegra with tylenol

allegra

589762 tn?1330207135 I was told that benadryl and tylenol were the only two safe meds pregnant women should take...good luck!
Avatar f tn I talked to my Dr and was told to take 2 Tylenol and 1 Allegra. It has helped me quite a bit but I would suggest calling your doctor because they may tell you something different. If you don't want to take meds try a hot shower and warm mist humidifier, those work awesome for head colds And no risk to baby!
1711722 tn?1356487554 I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon!
Avatar n tn If you take these drugs for a chronic medical condition, consult with your doctor about to what to do. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can be taken for fever or pain. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I would sit tight till they open. These are such new drugs and only your Dr can give you the green light. You don't want to risk SVR unless you know for sure. .....
Avatar f tn I have had daily headaches for over a week and my OB said they are Very normal. Tylenol is not helping has anyone found something pregnancy safe that works?
Avatar n tn He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all. Claritin does not work for him either, nor anyone in my family.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.
Avatar m tn Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't have the baby early unless there is a medical reason. I had my daughter at 36 weeks, but only because despite all my efforts to put on weight, I could not, therefore they induced me early so she could gain weight on her own.
Avatar n tn My wife has been Dx'ed with Lupus for a while now. She initially did chemo and steroids to get everything under control, and while she is usually fine, she does deal with a lot of fatigue. She started having noticeable cardiac issues (flutters, racing, chest pain) over the summer, which eventually resulted in a Holter monitor. She had her f/u with her cardiologist yesterday and was diagnosed with PVCs.
Avatar f tn I am in my third trimester and got the same thing going on.I feel like I been hit by a bus. My doctor told me I could take any cold medicine by tylenol nothing with ibuprofen in it. But like I said I'm in my third trimester so it may be different for u. Call ur doctors office n ask.
Avatar f tn Check with the doctor but he will more than likely firmly recommend Claritin and warn against Benadryl. keep us posted.
633143 tn?1262133535 For the past four years I have been suffering with near constant post nasal drip. At first it was seasonal, at its very worst this time of year (end of summer into fall), and it was semi-bearable. But now it is constant, pretty much all year round, and it’s like a faucet is constantly turned on. I can’t sleep, I always feel like gagging, and my stomach is always upset. I’ve lost 13lbs in the past few weeks just from not feeling like eating.
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn I read in a forum about using Allegra (an allergy med) to help the side effects. I have found that the Allegra really helps with the Zaps that occur. My problem is I don't want to take one in the afternoon, evening because they will keep me awake all night! Anybody got any night time ideas. I will not take another Paxil - I will put up with whatever licks I have to take. Any idea how long withdrawl symptoms will pop up. Do I have them all now?
Avatar f tn t had much itching anymore. I would think with the allegra you would get some type of relief. My antibodies for 1,000 when I was orginally diagnosed. I don't know what they are now but my tsh is .00 which I have been feeling fine on that. I have heard of people on Armour getting this reaction if it keeps up you might consider switching to a different thryoid med but give it a little while.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Since 2/26 I have had trouble with the way my skin feels. It started with prickly pins and needles for about two days in my left leg and rear...which just seemed itchy and uncomfortable. Now the pins & needles have pretty much subsided (have taken Allegra the last two days) and I have a firey pain in my left thigh (backside) and my left hip is very sore and as well as one of the joints in my right hand. The leg/hip issues have been occurring for two days.
Avatar n tn I also have Nasonex and Allegra for allergies. If anyone knows how these drugs will interact with one another please let me know. Also I had depakote but it made me feel like a zombie will Topamax do the same since it is also an anticonvulsant?
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and can usually get away with just Zyrtec but this year they are way worse and my doc told me to switch it up and try Claritin or Allegra the Allegra seems to work the best when I also take a sudafed but don't take the combo one just plan Allegra and plain sudafed.
1402935 tn?1281958699 I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same? This discussion is related to Post-Nasal cough?.
Avatar n tn I'd be interested to know what input you get about this. I have been having what seem to be allergy episodes -- nasal congestion, watery eyes, clear mucous -- for a day or 2, then it's gone. I don't use decongestants as I have a history of Afib, pac's & pat. My first episode, I woke up with Afib and ending up needing to be electro-converted. I am abut ready to see an allergist, as I can't identify a trigger. Is the omeprazole a proton pump inhibitor for reflux?
Avatar f tn How to deal with allergies?? What can I do what can I take I'm so congested and plugged up can't stop sneezing. I'm 15 weeks pregnant.
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
