Avatar n tn What is better for allergies allegra or claritin? Whats stronger Loratadine or Fexofenadine?
2078979 tn?1332206668 A lot of OTC allergy meds are okay, but you should definitely double-check with your doc. I take Benadryl at night, Allegra during the day, and allergy eyedrops...walking around with red eyes these days, my allergies have definitely kicked in.
450190 tn?1205509947 Hi, You could try oral antihistamine medications like loratadine or cetrizine. You should also try steam inhalation, saline nasal drops and see if this helps with your symptoms. Are you allergic to any specific substance? Are your symptoms aggravated or relieved by any factors? How long have you had these symptoms? If your symptoms still persist, it would be advisable to see your doctor or allergy specialist about this and get a complete clinical examination done.
Dog by the time I got to read your reply I had already purchased a product suggested by live chat pharmacist Ronda R...she said Allegra D or Claritin D(generic) and local Walgreens sold my wife Wal-itin D........contacted my Dr. and he also stated the same as you 'I would suggest not taking pseudoephedrine with metoprolol. It could elevate her heart rate. Loratadine by itself would be fine.
Avatar m tn few weeks ago I had a serious allergy attack & my eyes, lips were swollen & I had rush to emergency to get Piriton & Hydrocortizone shots to get relief. Now I'm having this allergy attacks almost every day with red patches in my arms, face, legs with itchy & swelling. I got medicine from a dirmotolegist ( Allegra 360mg,Loratadine,Zyncet 10mg with Vitamin A) & still continuing same. My problem is I'm getting these attacks while I'm taking these drugs!
Avatar f tn Claritin zyrtec allegra dont help me. Benadryl makes me fall asleep too easily...
Avatar f tn Sometimes double conventional doses of non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrcet), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(benadryl) or Hydroxyzine are used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment.
Avatar m tn Can allergies cause swollen throat, tight chest, shortness of breath ?? Each morning I wake up, I start to hack up mucus all day long, my throat feels really harsh like sand paper friction when I swallow, throat is swollen, tight chest, shortness of breath and feel as if I have a noose around my neck from muscle stiffness, and my nostrils are always swollen.
Avatar f tn He prescribed an Epi-Pen and recommended Loratadine twice a day, when the attacks continued, he added Zyrtec at night, but it's having no effect--still covered in hives and having big angioedema attacks every other day. He said to stay on the antihistamines. I tried to get a referral to an endocrin., but they won't see me unless I have signs of hypothyroidism. Is there something else I can try to stop the hives and the angioedema attacks?
Avatar f tn t forget that Synthroid IS Levothyroxine. it just has a special name, like Claritin, which is Loratadine. Products labeled Loratadine in the drug store is a fraction of the cost of Claritin and works the same!!
Avatar n tn (sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.
Avatar m tn Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn Hi, You could take oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine and see if it helps with your symptoms. Also take steam inhalation and saline nasal drops several times a day. If your symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor because then you would need to get certain investigations done and would probably need steroid nasal sprays and a course of antibiotics. Let us know about any other doubts that you have and post us on how you are doing. Regards.
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
1331658 tn?1275341605 How much Zyrtec can I take? I am on 10mg of zyrtec a day and 20mg or Loratadine a day as well. I'm 29yrs old, the reason why I want to take more is, 5yrs ago I was in a car accident and got TBI- Traumatic Brain Injury, The part of my brain that sends out signals got damaged. My hip strength was at like 10% on one side and 15% or normal on the other side. Well, I had a plugged nose and I asked my doc for something and he gave me Loratadine to help me with my nose.
Avatar f tn s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad. Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..

Avatar n tn please can anyone tell me what loratadine is made of does it come in contact with latex when made please i really need to know asap please help
Avatar n tn imitrex, tylenol with codeine, celexa, flexeril, doxepin, trazadone, naproxen, allegra D, prozac, lidocaine patch, fludrocortisone, mobic, inderal, migranol, zomisamide, effexor, lortab, singular. Trey is now on: singular, nortripytline (for sleep, makes him edgy?), fludrocortisone, loratadine, depakote. Trey is currently seeing an osteopath/physical therapist who says his tissues are reacting positively to her treatments. A lot of the pain seems to be in his over-charged nerves.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar m tn Because loratadine can cause erectile disfunction and loratadine has some of the side effects stated.
Avatar f tn Hi! Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
