I was diagnosed by Dr. Dhalla in Ottawa, who has referred me to Dr. Moulton at the Ottawa Civic.
Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
My adult daughter has been diagnosed with Chiari and lives in Ottawa. Is there a good neurologist and/or neurosurgeon in the Ottawa area that anyone would recommend? I noticed an Aug 6/10 post from someone who mentioned they had a good neurosurgeon in the Ottawa area but the name wasn't noted. Thanks very much in advance!
Just wondering about the DUO test. Not sure where to get it done here in Ottawa, Canada. Just wondering if anyone might know where I could get the DUO test done? I know 12-13 weeks is conclusive but I am hoping to get a test done at just over 4 weeks. I am still going to do the 12-13 week test for sure but the anxiety and waiting is really affecting me.

In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad.
Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..
Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
I am diagnosed for Chiari, Type I. Anybody had Chiari surgery in Ottawa? Any specialist recommendation? Please share your experince or suggestion with me. I am really stuck and I do not know if I should do surgery or not although the doctor told me I should.

Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks.

Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
Looking to know of others in Ottawa Ontario Canada who have been diagnosed and have had surgery. Any information appreciated.
Benadryl is safe.
I would sit tight till they open. These are such new drugs and only your Dr can give you the green light. You don't want to risk SVR unless you know for sure.

Hi fellow warriors, today has been a relatively good day. Didn't sleep much I was in excruciating pain, the familiar one my back not withdrawals. I saw my doctor today told him I dumped my pills last Friday and 72 hours later I was in agony with tremors was out of my mind literally, my husband called 911 because I was going to end it and he knew I would, I was abusive to him the cops the ems workers.
I have really bad allergies and can usually get away with just Zyrtec but this year they are way worse and my doc told me to switch it up and try Claritin or Allegra the Allegra seems to work the best when I also take a sudafed but don't take the combo one just plan Allegra and plain sudafed.
