I then went to an allergist who put on prednisone, I felt zoned, but this did not help the rash. I took my last dose of prednisone and now the rash is spreading down my neck and worse than ever. I believe the prednisone made it worse. I was on for 14 days and my highest dose was 60mg. Any way I am at my wits end. I am seeing my GP again tomorrow. Any ideas of what it might be?

I first tried to see if it was different foods or shampoos or lotions and nothing worked so i went to see an allergist, he test me for the like 40 or 50 more common allergic reactions, all came back negative, so he told me it was just stress causing them and told me just to take allegra.
My Dr told me to take it when I kept breaking out in hives and a rash. Helped with itching and hives but they didnt fully go away for several weeks so I had to take it daily for almost 3 weeks. Made me sleepy however my baby was bouncing all over the place!! Obviously it had an opposite effect on him. Lol good luck!
I did not experience Hives. I haven't heard of any rash or hives except from those that are taking the Ribavirin. you are the first. Allegra/Zantac combo can solve this problem? Helped me when I got hives from my first treatment of Interferon/Ribavirin. Check with your doctor.
Three days later I took a long hike and developed a rash around my anus due to what I believe was rubbing skin and that I wasn’t able to clean myself properly after having a bowel movement for several hours due to the hike. The next day I took another hike and the rash seemed to worsen. It is red and sensitive, with one or two small blisters and one seems to have opened but there is no major bleeding or a weird smell, just soreness. It has since completely healed and went away.
i started taking cetirizine about one year ago for allergy, mind irrretation and etc. i took it almost every day and felt much. now m feeling that m addicted to this. i want to stop taking this but i con't . when i sotp to take cetirizine again the problems arises like allergy,itching , irrrtation . i went to so many doctors but no useeeee. plz plz save me from this. now m feeling that i can not live without cetirizine.....
My son is 14. August 10, after returning from a sleep away camp for 1 week, he awoke with a fever, headache, myalgias and arthralgia, as well as a rash (only on his arms and thighs). I brought him to the ER, didn't have meningitis. Symptoms subsided except for rash. Followed up with Pediatrician, referred to dermatologist who thought it was serum sickness (rash he thought was urticaria).
Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
They are triggered when certain cells (mast cells) release histamine causing rash. The single most effective therapy for any allergic reactions is to avoid the triggers or avoid exposure to them. Environmental triggers for allergic reactions like changes in weather, temperature and water sources are difficult to avoid, but being aware can help you take adequate precautions. As you are aware of the triggers please avoid them.

It can be due to sweat dermatitis or heat rash. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken.
The rash remained visible but I felt like I could breathe easily! I took steroid pills for a week and it was about 80% cleared up for the first time in many months!
I went back to the dermatologist and he finally said I was having an allergic reaction to something, a "contact allergy". He said to take 2 Zyrtec in the morning and 2 Benadryl at night. About half the rash went away.
Now the rash is back worse than ever! I have no idea what I'm having a reaction to.
Facial Rash... a fine rash - looks more like blushing -seems to be triggered by adrenaline. (stress, even small stress). Pink on sides of neck (mostly on left) just about all the time and itchy shoulder and back.
I don't smoke and I was tested negative for chemicals.
I do not have extra exposure to sun or heat.
However, she recently rescued a chick from the street and spent many hours in the backyard digging for worms. A day or two after, she broke out with red bumps filled with pus all over her body. Here is a photo of her legs/arm/back.

We went to the doctor, dermatologist, and have been applying hydrocortisone and coderm but she hasn't gotten better. PLEASE help me figure out what is wrong with her skin.
The doctor said it was shingles and prescribed Allegra (for the itching) and Valtrex (to get rid of the rash). It did not really help or do anything. The rash comes and goes. Some days it is red and not very puffy. Other days it's not red, but it's bumpy. It has been "wet" from scratching "open" the blisters. It really is bothersome. The photo below is what it looks like today, but like I said, it varies. Any ideas??

I am sorry about the trouble your hubby is having. I took two antihistamines during treatment. Benedryl and Allegra D. The "D" part is important because it is a decongestant. It is available as an over-the-counter drug in most states. However, it will also keep some people awake especially when they first start taking it. I took it for a long time prior to treatment and it doesn't bother me anymore but still. Your hubby should ask for help with getting some sleep.
She suggested I take Benedryl but I opted for Allegra since it seemed more potent. I purchased the 12 hour brand and it stops the rash for about 16 hours. I hope that's a sign that this is not viral. As soon as Alegra wears off, the rash kicks back in.
It's been two days on Alegra (1 pill/day). I'm hoping this is only for another few days tops. It's been 8 days today since the rash started.
Recently I visited doctor and she suggested Allegra tablets 180 mg once in a day but this treatment does not seems working.
Please suggest.
Now after exact 4 weeks I got fever with chills which lasted for about 2 days(assuming it was vira, I took dolo 650, and doxtl), after fever subsided, I had rash on my hands(around palms) and feet, then I took allegra which reduced rash. but since then mu skin started peeling on hands and feet.
With all the timelines matching, I am worried a lot about the exposure I had. Do I have to get tested?
s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad.
Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..
