Allegra for food allergies

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra for food allergies

allegra

Avatar f tn I was OK to take Allegra. Ask your Dr. But I know Allegra is safe as well as benadril. And claritain. When in doubt ask a Dr.
Avatar n tn My oldest son is on Risperdal,as well as three other meds. He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all.
11803947 tn?1430842645 I have really severe allergies and benadryl is not doing it for me. Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
Avatar f tn For ladies with Allergies what are you taking or doing. Claritin just doesn't seem to be doing the job. I am a stuffy, sneezey mess with watery eyes half the time. And I need to function so Benadryl is not an option unless I am able to sleep all day.
Avatar m tn The reason for drugs been not absorbed - you probably just had a quickened peristalsis due to some minor food incident...Allegra itself may cause diarrhea as a side effect though. The reason of concern would be, if this spongy stool will continue. Stool had a bad smell? Or you have just ingested a lot of fibers?
Avatar f tn Hi! Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and can usually get away with just Zyrtec but this year they are way worse and my doc told me to switch it up and try Claritin or Allegra the Allegra seems to work the best when I also take a sudafed but don't take the combo one just plan Allegra and plain sudafed.
Avatar n tn Try another allergy med. You could just simply be allergic to allegra!
Avatar n tn And have also tried eliminating all high oxalate and lectins (have since added those back in). I have a lot of allergies so food and environmental allergies were my first thought. But even after eliminating those I am still having all of these weird symptoms along with the hives and the timeline of it all doesn’t make sense and it also doesn’t make sense why my boyfriend would be having these symptoms when he doesn’t have any previous history of allergies.
Avatar m tn I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn I had allergies really bad at the begging of my pregnancy i got allegra d 24 hours and it helped out allot and my baby girl is healthy as can be
Avatar f tn I use zyertec and benadryl. My doctor has said they are both safe. Check with your doctor they should have an approved list of meds you can take.
Avatar n tn There is a lab called "Elisa/ACT" that can do allergy testing with blood only. They can check for allergies to foods, food additives & colorings, molds, environmental toxins, toxic metals, herbs, medications, pet dander, etc. However, your insurance may or may not cover the testing. My insurance did pay for the testing. The lab has a website if you are interested... you can find them via google.
Avatar f tn I have had various allergies all my life (none life-threatening), when I was a child I had a lot of food allergies that have since gone away, and I have always been allergic to cats, dust, mold, and pollen, most of which required very occasional antihistamines to manage symptoms. But just within the past two years or so I have started developing more serious food and inhalant allergies that continue to get worse. It seemed to start with serious reactions to various types of beer and wine.
Avatar f tn ve been taking benadryl since day 1 because I read it was safe somewhere that it was safe during pregnancy. I usually take it for allergies or to sleep. It is not everyday, though more frequently lately. I am worried though because I just had a friend tell me it's only safe after the 1st trimester. Is that true? Does anyone know?
3539331 tn?1347554407 I have the same allergies as she but nothing seems to help either of us. I have tried Benedryl (for us both) and Allegra, Claridon, etc. and none of them have helped either of us. My Vet gave her some that didn't help either. Does anyone know of allergy drug that I could give her to help her?????
Avatar m tn I have struggled with allergic rhinitus to dust for years. My throat is perpetually covered in mucus, which aside from making annunciation rather hard, it is also rather uncomfortable. It reduces my ability to talk, smell, and overall enjoy life. I've tried relatively everything and seen many doctors. Flonase and allegra seem to help most in combination, but the effect is minimal. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.
Avatar n tn What is better for allergies allegra or claritin? Whats stronger Loratadine or Fexofenadine?
Avatar f tn I'm about giving up. I cannot breath. Can I take zyrtec, claritin or allegra.
Avatar n tn the only i can say is try to avoid the foods you are allergic to. My sister is like that she is allergic to everything she loves including chocolate not to mention she is 10 years old so we have a hard time keep her away from her food allergies she doesn't care if she breaks out she just wants to eat so most of the time we end up giving her 1 benedryl after she eats and she is usually ok.
Avatar n tn t take a deep breath (I can) and if I do activity where I exert myself...I actually have no problems with the lungs. Is this normal for allergies??????? I am new to this whole seasonal allergy thing. Should I go back to my doctor for help? She did say 8 months ago there was nothing to do except take OTC medication and keep my house clean.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
