Allegra for cold symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra for cold symptoms

allegra

Avatar f tn my suggestion is to taper off of it which would really help with many of your symptoms. Also, I assume you have a prescription for the Allegra as well, but you might want to be careful what you read on forums on the internet. I could type in 'cheeseburgers and paxil withdrawal" and probably get a taper schedule to follow. My point is, and this is just my opinion, that you should definitely work through this with your doctor. Keep us posted!
1711722 tn?1356487554 I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I have asthma, too. I found a great way for keeping things out of your lungs and keeping the air you breathe in the winter time warm around your face, too. It is much simpler to use than the muslin handkerchief. One day I saw another woman wearing this mask at the local supplements store. I knew what it was for, so I asked her where she got it. I got one myself and I use it everywhere I go.
Avatar m tn Hi there, My son is 17 and having an awful time with seasonal allergies, Zyrtec seems to help a little, smae with allegra Benadryl helps more but he still looks and feels miserable. His eyes are intchy and red and his nose is runny and congested at same time with what he describes as a "itchy feeling" behind the bridge of his nose.
Avatar f tn Asthma causes your airways to spasm causing breathing problems and could be triggered by cold weather. You may also consider getting tested for allergies, as the trigger for your breathing problems.
Avatar f tn I did have Mono in 1989. The reason for the EBV tests was because of my complaint of fatigue. I was told the EBV Early Antigen AB, IgG test was ok even though it was flagged as "High" because of the mono infection I had back in the late 80s. Is this correct?
Avatar m tn We have newborns in the NICU and the last thing I want to do is get them ill. I have stayed away throughout the week not able to differentiate my allergy symptoms from a cold or flu. I have seen two doctors and they have not been able to find anything that indicates a virus thus far. I have had a fluctuating body temperature from mid 97 range to mid 99 range. When I am at the medical offices I have had a normal temp.
Avatar n tn And to date, I have no diagnosis, and my symptoms persist. I have visited the National Jewish once for an initial consult and some initial tests, and have my second appointment scheduled for October.
Avatar m tn No coughing up of blood or sputum etc, no fever and related symptoms. But this has been persistent for a month and increases when she gets out in the cold outside, is there a concern on this related to TB do i need to do a TB test for her? pls advise.
Avatar n tn Do all cold sores blister and scab? Or could you have one that appears dry and irrated-like? I know that doesnt sound like a typical cold sore, but I had these 2 spots a few days apart on my mouth and they had the pre-tingle, were reddish, but they were completely dry and kinda flaky looking. This was the first time something has shown up like that, so Im a bit confused. Anyone know what this could be?
Avatar m tn Let me explain, so I've had every STD/HIV test and even seen a dermatologist who said it's just an allergic reaction, but this has persisted for about 3 months now. So when I rub my skin, either light or rough it gets red and bumps appear but go away within minutes. My dermatologist prescribed fexofenadine (Allegra) and that helps. My derm said that it was Ecsastencia (?
Avatar m tn I'm a 21 year old male. Four weeks ago, I came down with what seemed to be a cold. I experienced congestion, cough, and laryngitis a day or two after exposure to large amounts of hay and agricultural lime. Taking this into consideration, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn t had much itching anymore. I would think with the allegra you would get some type of relief. My antibodies for 1,000 when I was orginally diagnosed. I don't know what they are now but my tsh is .00 which I have been feeling fine on that. I have heard of people on Armour getting this reaction if it keeps up you might consider switching to a different thryoid med but give it a little while.
Avatar m tn Allegra D doesn't heal anything, it only prevents symptoms of allergy, so there's no drama here. The reason for drugs been not absorbed - you probably just had a quickened peristalsis due to some minor food incident...Allegra itself may cause diarrhea as a side effect though. The reason of concern would be, if this spongy stool will continue. Stool had a bad smell? Or you have just ingested a lot of fibers?
Avatar f tn I have had nasal congestion for a while now and have been doing neti pot for a couple of days now. I feel way better!

Avatar n tn My 3 year old is already taking allegra, flovent and now tagament twice a day. Along with battling what some have said are hives. She has scratched herself till she has scabs on many parts of her body. She has a special lotion, hypo allergenic shampoo, free and clear everything else that I can find. I am almost ready to pull out my hair because it seems that no one can give me a straight answer. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Avatar m tn Now coming to your question, 35% of patients get totally free of the symptoms in one year. In other 30% symptoms will reduce. Rest of the pateints it continues. But you need to take necessary precautions. I suggest you to consult to a skin specialist/ immunologist for further steps of management. Take care and regards.
7639611 tn?1392877261 Also, you could live away from the cat for a day or two and see if your symptoms improve. However, it would be best to consult a doctor who can examine you. If you want to keep the cat, you could restrict the entry into the bedroom, wipe the cat daily with a wet towel, and give bath twice a week, use a HEPA-equipped vacuum cleaner at least twice a week, regularly launder or dry clean all upholstery and bedding.
Avatar f tn I am trying local honey as well, but have never had a sweet tooth so its difficult for me. My doc gave a list if ok meds for different symptoms. Maybe you can ask the office for something like that.
Avatar f tn So now the doctor that I recently am seeing now (the one who did the chest xray and blood work) wants me to do another trial of prilosec and allegra for 30 days and see if that doesn't help. But I've been on both again for almost 5 days and it doesn't seem to be letting up. Infact throat is even more tender at night now. My nose was running alot too but that's seems to have cleared up.
Avatar m tn Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
633143 tn?1262133535 For the past four years I have been suffering with near constant post nasal drip. At first it was seasonal, at its very worst this time of year (end of summer into fall), and it was semi-bearable. But now it is constant, pretty much all year round, and it’s like a faucet is constantly turned on. I can’t sleep, I always feel like gagging, and my stomach is always upset. I’ve lost 13lbs in the past few weeks just from not feeling like eating.
Avatar m tn My doctor said it was allergy based which makes sense because it is accompanied by varying ear pain, nasal drainage and an itchy throat. I have been put on Allegra-D which drastically reduced the symptoms. I am a military aviator and I'm restricted from taking certain medicines. The last six months, I have been in a non flight duty and started taking benadryl which I am normally restricted from taking due to the drowsiness side effects.
