Common Questions and Answers about Allegra for a cold

allegra

1711722 tn?1356487554 I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I have had nasal congestion for a while now and have been doing neti pot for a couple of days now. I feel way better!
Avatar f tn I have quit Paxil cold-turkey 7 days ago. I read in a forum about using Allegra (an allergy med) to help the side effects. I have found that the Allegra really helps with the Zaps that occur. My problem is I don't want to take one in the afternoon, evening because they will keep me awake all night! Anybody got any night time ideas. I will not take another Paxil - I will put up with whatever licks I have to take. Any idea how long withdrawl symptoms will pop up. Do I have them all now?
Avatar f tn I'm 43 years old. Heathy and fit. I've had an allergic reaction to the cold since I was a child. It varies all the time some years worse than others. I break out in hive or develop a rash up my arms or my eyes or lips swell up. It is winter time now and I've noticed I am having a very hard time taking a deep breath. Not all the time, it seems to get really bad when I'm cold. Could this now be a new reaction I'm getting.
Dog by the time I got to read your reply I had already purchased a product suggested by live chat pharmacist Ronda R...she said Allegra D or Claritin D(generic) and local Walgreens sold my wife Wal-itin D........contacted my Dr. and he also stated the same as you 'I would suggest not taking pseudoephedrine with metoprolol. It could elevate her heart rate. Loratadine by itself would be fine.
Avatar m tn No coughing up of blood or sputum etc, no fever and related symptoms. But this has been persistent for a month and increases when she gets out in the cold outside, is there a concern on this related to TB do i need to do a TB test for her? pls advise.
Avatar f tn 6 months is too long. Good Luck. One last thing. When I get a cold and the coughing hangs on for a few weeks and I cant get relief at night, I use an RX called Tussinex. I've used everything over the counter, syrup with codine and other RXs and none of them helped at all, but this stuff actually works.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't have the baby early unless there is a medical reason. I had my daughter at 36 weeks, but only because despite all my efforts to put on weight, I could not, therefore they induced me early so she could gain weight on her own.
Avatar f tn I stay cold most of the time especially my feet. I did a sleep study and found I am not getting much deep sleep <1%. I think I have Raynauds disease. I have bad allergies so I take Allegra and over the past 5 years I have had several sinus infections and I have been on several different allergy meds and antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Hi there, My son is 17 and having an awful time with seasonal allergies, Zyrtec seems to help a little, smae with allegra Benadryl helps more but he still looks and feels miserable. His eyes are intchy and red and his nose is runny and congested at same time with what he describes as a "itchy feeling" behind the bridge of his nose.

Avatar n tn I'd be interested to know what input you get about this. I have been having what seem to be allergy episodes -- nasal congestion, watery eyes, clear mucous -- for a day or 2, then it's gone. I don't use decongestants as I have a history of Afib, pac's & pat. My first episode, I woke up with Afib and ending up needing to be electro-converted. I am abut ready to see an allergist, as I can't identify a trigger. Is the omeprazole a proton pump inhibitor for reflux?
Avatar m tn I was on antiallergic medicine (Allegra-180 mg/day) for a year about two year back. I wish to know if my hypothyroidism is the result of one year Allegra intake ? I will appreciate the information and help.
Avatar n tn Or could you have one that appears dry and irrated-like? I know that doesnt sound like a typical cold sore, but I had these 2 spots a few days apart on my mouth and they had the pre-tingle, were reddish, but they were completely dry and kinda flaky looking. This was the first time something has shown up like that, so Im a bit confused. Anyone know what this could be?
Avatar f tn So I have a cold and cannot stop coughing, will this harm the baby?
8793709 tn?1409594060 since we already have a girl name chosen, I was wondering if this wud also work for a male, if we were to have a boy. as rock / metal lovers, we love that it reminds of the punk-rock band Nirvana. I'm sure no one in my family will like it, but I dont care. what do you beautiful ladies think of Nirvana for a boy?
Avatar m tn The slightest scratch will also produce a slight red blotchy patch where it was contacted. It only welts/bumps when not taking Allegra (fexofenadine).... Has anybody encoutered this? BTW, is throughout my entire body, but primarily around elbows. forearm and around the thigh area. I've been having loose stools and nothing else really.
Avatar m tn I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar m tn If not, you can start humidifying his room, or leave a hot shower on for a few min and have him spend 5 min inhaling steam; do this twice daily, once preferably before bedtime Encourage your child to blow his nose as frequently as he needs to so that congestion can be relieved; this will prevent him developing a sinus infection. Avoid OTC antiallergy medication in young children as it can have side effects and also impair their immune system.
Avatar f tn Have you considered that you might be allergic to something in either the Armour or the Allegra? Fillers in drugs often cause people side effects. Also, if you've been hypo recently, and the long, cold, dry winter has just ended, could it be a secondary skin problem that hasn't been able to heal? I've never heard of antibodies causing any symptoms (doesn't mean they can't), except, of course, destruction of the thyroid.
Avatar n tn I went on a cruise in June 2010, On the last night of the cruise I came down with a cold or virus. I have had chronic drainage and a cough ever since. I finally got a chest x-ray and the results were slight hyperinflation of the lungs. What can I do for this constant drainage, I take zyrtec daily and it is not really helping me with my allergies anymore.I am 48 and smoked when I was younger but quit 18 years ago.
Avatar f tn So Im 7 weeks and caught a horrible head cold.. I was up all night. I cant breath Im sneezing and my throat is on fire . I feel awful. Is there anything safe to take ??
Avatar m tn I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn Any mucinex meds will help and start taking Allegra it's a allergy medicine. My dr told me to take these I been sick for about a month and I'm 37 weeks. Drink plenty of fluid also, like orange juice and water, hot tea honey and lemon might help you also. Your Sore Throat You Can Use That Spray For Your Throat OR Cough drops.
Avatar f tn I had the cold for about three weeks, but it left me with a constant cough , clearing of the throat all the time and feeling like mucus always in my throat.. No runny nose, but sometimes when I cough I bring up mucus but not all the time.. Seem I got nasal drip, please tell me how to cure it for good . I take allegra but that is not helping.
Avatar m tn I'm a 21 year old male. Four weeks ago, I came down with what seemed to be a cold. I experienced congestion, cough, and laryngitis a day or two after exposure to large amounts of hay and agricultural lime. Taking this into consideration, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased.
