867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
Avatar m tn I have tried turning off all power and other devices and it still pulses. What else could be the cause? This is new and has never happened before this.
Avatar f tn My Dr told me I can continue to take my allegra. And im now 24 weeks and my little man is just fine.
Avatar f tn Off and on for about eight years, I've had a problem with my right ear where it will sometimes make a sort of roaring/static sound, somewhat like a jet breaking the sound barrier. It is usually triggered by loud noises (or pressure?), but once it starts it continues with very little noise/pressure, being activated even by my own voice when I'm speaking quietly. I can also hear this sound even when there is no noise, if I lightly touch my right cheek next to my ear.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar n tn Then I ran out and sure enough, and yesterday my left ear started ringing and my teeth started aching...did some poking around and sure enough, people on antihistamines and allergy meds are very suspetible to it. And by stopping, I made it worse...I refilled the meds and am hoping by tomorrow its better...then will figure out how to stop taking the meds. The ENT said to take the spray all the way through fall...also...being anxienty prone does NOT help!!
Avatar n tn My oldest son is on Risperdal,as well as three other meds. He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all.
180992 tn?1383374057 Advice given about getting ear plugs for my extreme tinnitus and compression hose for the Petechiae rash to Allegra/Zantac for the hives and so many other tips not mentioned by the Doctors. It's so nice to hear this is going to be a cake walk in comparison to interferon. If any irregular events happen I will share here. I so appreciated this forum during my last treatment. and will report in and follow during my new treatment. We are here helping each other. Thanks to everyone.
Avatar f tn 2002) Advancing age may also be accompanied by inner ear damage and tinnitus. Many medications also can cause tinnitus (see list below). Generally this is thought to arise from their effect on the cochlea (inner ear).
Avatar n tn If Zoloft curbs stress and anxiety, and stress aggravates tinnitus, there may be just a cause and effect relationship, and not necessarily a medical relationship between the two. I'm sure other health factors could be involved as well.
345124 tn?1234483278 postnasal drip, nasal congestion, phlegm, crackling in my eustachian tubes when i swallow and when im chewing food, tinnitus, occasional headaches, ear pressure(like im in a plane), a painless but spooky sensation that the inside of my head behind my face, above my eyes and on top of my head is inflated or expanding, and of course the worst:dizziness.
Avatar n tn I have had a thyroid issue for 9 years and I have dealt with Tinnitus on and off throughout. Last night I woke up with major ringing in my left ear and I would say a 25% loss in hearing. I went to the doctor this morning they do believe it may be caused by the Thyroid since I am way off still on my labwork results. Also, I do notice and I don't know if this is part of it but when I drink alcohol I tend to get the ringing that night and last night I had a glass of wine while out.
453255 tn?1205792176 Yes, the medications I take for my allergies and asthma daily are: allegra (24 hour), singulair, alvesco, oxeeze, rhinocort, sometimes ventolin, and sometimes benedril.

Avatar n tn s disease, Otosclerosis, circulatory problems all can lead to tinnitus. The cause of your tinnitus and the associated symptoms are important for determining the correct cause and management of your condition. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar n tn Does Tensor Tympani Muscle have any problem and causes hissing and roaring tinnitus in some cases because of muscle tension. And does it cause pressure fullness, ear pain, jaw pain? If i have problem with my inner ear, why should have pain in jaw? In my case jaw pain happens because of middle ear problems.
Avatar n tn Try valsalva maneuver (take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth). Tinnitus can also be a psychological problem. Hence get a psychiatric assessment too. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn What you PROBABLY have is a bad case of tinnitus. Tinnitus is the ringing you're hearing and it is associated with loss of hearing, depression, and sleep disturbances. The pain is probably caused by hyperacusis, which is another condition that sometimes comes with tinnitus and makes you very sensitive to noise. There is no "cure" for tinnitus, but there are treatments. Eating healthy, exercising, keeping busy, and reducing stress can help.

Avatar f tn I worked for a non-profit for 7 years that serviced hard of hearing and deaf persons. Tinnitus was something we dealt with and it was non-reversible. HOWEVER. A number of the conditions we experience on treatment seem to reverse when the drugs stop. As in nygirl's situation, I hope the same for you. What I'm thinking is that it's yet another reason to keep hgb up in reasonable numbers. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.

Avatar m tn Cessation of therapy resulted in rapid clinical resolution with mild residual hearing loss and tinnitus. This case report illustrates vestibulocochlear and autonomic nervous system adverse effects of pegylated interferon-alpha-2b/ribavirin, emphasizing the importance of early recognition and cessation of therapy to prevent permanent neurootologic injury.
