Common Questions and Answers about Allegra and migraines

allegra

Avatar f tn We went to the eye doctor and she diagnosed an occular migraine. I took her home and went to work. At 7 pm my son phoned and said he was taking Allegra to the DEM she was having difficulty breathing and her head was tilted backwards and her eyes were rolled up in her head. The DEM treated her for an adverse reaction to the Haldol and released her. Suggestions?
Avatar f tn Daily medicine is Omeprazole taken everyday for 3 years and Allegra everday for 2 years. Two years ago I started to have migraines. The first one I had was in the middle of work. It just came on out of nowhere and didn't last long but returned a few minutes later. Which began a cycle of what I thought was cluster headaches. I would get stabbing pains for about a minute or two then a few minutes of relief. This would last for about an hour.
Avatar m tn i suffer from migraines too and i typically get them at night i think its because of your body enduring all of the stress from the daytime.. you could have a sinus infection too which couple explain the stuffy nose when laying down??
Avatar n tn Feeling that as I type this now actually with some lower back pain which i also find a bit weird. Is there any relation to migraines and urticaria ( i have never found the cause and i'm thinking its probably an autoimmune problem now - lupus and RA have been ruled out.) I do have vitiligo but it never spread past 2 fingers. I'm suffering!
Avatar f tn My Dr told me I can continue to take my allegra. And im now 24 weeks and my little man is just fine.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn Migraines indicate a circulation problem -- they're a vascular headache. Biofeedback and meditation have both proven helpful to regularizing circulation -- meditation got rid of my migraines almost completely. But the anxiety, that's a tougher problem, and it might have been the source of your migraines in the first place. All kinds of symptoms come with both circulation problems and with anxiety. Diet can also be a factor with both, as can the thyroid or other hormonal problems.
Avatar n tn My oldest son is on Risperdal,as well as three other meds. He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all.
Avatar n tn When I read the info that went with it and looked up info on line it said something about interacting with asthma meds and meds for the urinary tract. I have asthma and take flovent and xopenex I also have interstitial cystitis so therefore I take Elmiron. I have no idea if the doctor read my list of meds or not. But I do not want to take this if there is going to be an interaction. I also take thyroid meds-- armour and have endometriosis so I will take Advil and Tylenol for the pain from endo.
7659759 tn?1394402943 13th, I went to the emergency room for headaches and chest pain with weird pins and needles feeling in my upper back. They did an XRay of my chest and said it was migraines(after not doing anything for my head) I went back on the 16th because my symptoms were the same and I noticed my right pupil dialates more than the other. I had blood work and a non contract CT of the brain done. Findings showed a sinus infection. I was prescribed Amox-Clav.
Avatar m tn 6 months ago, late Feb., I started getting a feeling of unsteadiness, not really vertigo, I don't think. Got worse until saw MD referred to neurologist. Also saw ENT because bilateral ear pain began before could see neurologist. After ear pain MD gave me allegra-D and nasal steroid, didn't do much. Unsteadiness is constant all day and much worse in stressful situations, crowds, and if I got too hot. Felt like what I would imagine social anxiety is.
620048 tn?1358018235 HVAC, I am surprised to hear opiates trigger migraines for you, because this happens to me also. When I was taking percocet after foot surgeries, I got migraines and then had to take painkillers for that, and thought what the hey how do I get migraines when I'm already on painkillers?!
453255 tn?1205792176 Yes, the medications I take for my allergies and asthma daily are: allegra (24 hour), singulair, alvesco, oxeeze, rhinocort, sometimes ventolin, and sometimes benedril.
Avatar f tn My dr today told me to treat my sinuses when I get headaches and Tylenol doesn't work. She said try claritin and if that doesn't work then Allegra. She said all the extra fluid that we accumulate during pregnancy pools into free space such as the sinuses. I'm gonna try it.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.
Avatar f tn s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad. Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..
Avatar m tn Not sure I am doing this right but I wanted to follow up and say nearly everything is gone now. I still think herpes zoster attacked the auriculotemporal nerve due to the timing of everything. I also had nystagmus when things were at their worst. I ended up taking an SSRI and was diagnosed with atypical migraine. I will still very rarely get symptoms if I am hot and under weird lighting and some other things that cause migraines for others.
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar f tn I am dying of a 48 hour allergy attack! Clarita does NOT help and the only thing that did before my pregnancy was Allegra.. I am 24.5 weeks along, could I get away with a dose?
Avatar m tn Allegra D the one that is two colors tan and white will do that....I read it somwhere but can't remember where.
1786778 tn?1314987818 ve tried and done. But 3 months ago I started Cymbalta 30 mgs, Allegra in the morning and vitamin d3 and magnesium and I've noticed a BIG difference, yes I get them now and then but no comparison to what I was getting before. Sometimes it's a combo that may work best. Just trying to give you some options as I'm not sure of what you've tried. PT and botox did nothing for me but eveyone is different.
1402935 tn?1281958699 I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same? This discussion is related to Post-Nasal cough?.
Avatar f tn Ah, relief !
Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe.
Avatar f tn Decongestant nasal sprays work great-talk to your doc about which ones are safe & won't conflict with meds you are already on.
