Avatar f tn Although the combination of calcium plus vitamin D has only been shown to reduce fracture in a nursing home population, it is recommended that all people with osteoporosis initially be advised to take these dietary supplements. The benefits of additional calcium and vitamin D are highlighted with caregivers for people with osteoporosis residing in nursing facilities. Treatment is generally given twice daily with meals to optimize absorption.
Avatar f tn I understand that smoking is extremely addictive, but there are certain things we do for our kid that are very hard, and one of them is being pregnant, taking care of our bodies while pregnant and nursing (and I am not even talking about giving birth!). That is only the start of a difficult life of a parent. So, let me give you the facts that you probably already know, but they are important to repeat.
Avatar f tn development and validation of a Chiari-/syringomyelia-specific questionnaire Published by the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing (by Mueller and Oro - Neurosurgery Center of Colorado) - appears in the August 2013 edition Wish I had access to this. Perhaps some of you out there can access this, and if so, enjoy! :) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn Interventions lead to more interventions, epidurals increase the chances of needing an emergency c-sections, I would never judge a woman for getting one of they feel it's best for them if they can't cope, but I don't understand why a woman would go into labour with the idea of getting one...
Avatar f tn Your main concern was the interventions. There are all kind of interventions. And yes, the wrong ones could hurt rather than help. So a few questions. What grade is he in. What time of day does the school get out? Are the interventions done by his classroom teacher - or by somebody else, somewhere else? How does his teacher feel about the interventions? Are the interventions a part of a BIP, an IEP, or a 504?
Avatar f tn They are not trained in natural birth but in augmenting labor (causing labor to go as they want it to go) which often results in a cascade of interventions that cause the mother and baby serious complications. Which is often why many women say, "Why write a birth plan? It will never go as you plan". I'm excited to share more on birth plans very, very shortly! 2).
Avatar f tn CNM-CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE- who specializes in nursing and has some midwive experience (you will see these in hospitals and birthing centers). CM/CPM- CERTIFIED MIDWIFE/CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MIDWIFE- they don't have a degree in nursing and get their experience from apprenticeship under another midwife.
10228675 tn?1423881456 I'm curious the best place to buy Nursing tanks from? Before pregnancy i was a 38F.. now that bra is way to small.. so im looking for a nursing tank that my boobs will actually fit in.
Avatar f tn Hence, you should avoid BP measurements in your arms. Please consult a cardiologist for risk-reduction interventions as appropriate. Good Luck, and God Bless!
Avatar f tn ^not true based on the mountains of research and studies I've done on birth. It is one of the excuses that drs make to validate their decision to give a mother a c section ($$$ and convenience for them). Do the research and you will find what I have. Women's bodies come in all shapes and sizes... It's medical interventions that cause problems in the natural process of birth.
Avatar f tn Thanks ladies
Avatar f tn Both my children were born past 40 weeks. If you dont want to induce, stand up for yourself! You have to option and inducing doesn't always make things go faster just starts the medical interventions. Its better to wait until the BABY is ready to come out unless medically necessary.
Avatar m tn My twins, though not mono di, were born vaginally without any medical interventions at 39.3 weeks. They are fraternal twins and their placentas had fused by the time they were born. I know it is not your situation so all I can do is offer words of encouragement. I would suggest that, if you wish to explore a vaginal birth, you get a second and third opinion. Check into your docs overall c section rate- if his is high then he may prefer c section over natural birth.
Avatar f tn I'm pregnant for the first time too! So I can't tell you for sure, but there are so so so many benefits for you baby having a natural birth. Any medications the doctors give you generally lead to complications and medical interventions. The biggest thing I've heard is to stay calm during labor. Stressing makes the birth harder!
Avatar n tn t do anything about it if you wish. The situation will eventually improve. There are interventions (prescription medication, wet/stop alarms) that can be employed, and you might want to talk this over with your daughter's pediatrician. Rememebr: the interventions are entirely optional; there is no compelling reason to intervene.
Avatar f tn My midwife has similar believes that the female body is capable when given a chance. Obviously there are times for interventions, but the vast majority do not require interventions. The last study states that over 80% of pregnancies do not need interventions. Why would I need an intervetions specialist(OB) when not needed?
Avatar n tn It seems to me that when they are receiving state aid help with this single mom trying very hard to be both parents and working diligently, that the daycare should have some interventions rather than removal. 5975936 tn?1377811575 t the intervention that hurts. it is when those interventions kick in to your bodyand the cervix begins to dilate, contractions begin and those things no women is prepared for it. Also interventions do make the process more painful than of you were to go into labor on your own. Asking for an epidural is not a crime. Just remember you are in control. Tell the nurses what you need when you need it and it'll all be ok.
