486919 tn?1280184140 Hello, I'm having problems with my metabolism. I'm a very big man, over 300 lbs, but very active. Most people can't believe how much i weigh when we talk about size, most people think I weigh about 250. I have been dieting for about a year and have lost over 30 lbs.. But in the last 3 or 4 months, my weight has moved up and down. I'm at 329 right now and it has moved as low as 315 to as high as 335. I have not changed my diet and have even tried exercising a little bit more.
1397290 tn?1357777871 Calorie-intake should be according to your physical activity. 2800-3000 is quite a lot, which if you don't gain of it, you should perhaps seek professional aid.

Avatar f tn I'm 18 , I do a lot of sports .. And I do not eat that much .... Why can't I go under 65kg ?
Avatar f tn If you really want to kick-start your metabolism, you may also try dividing your meals up into smaller portions that you eat more often throughout the day. Every time you eat, it helps your metabolism rise, so as strange as it may sound, eating frequently can help you lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Take care!
Avatar f tn If so,after how long is Minoxidil excreted from the body? What is its half-life and what is its duration for metabolism? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have a very high metabolism and am considered "underweight" for my height.
1099201 tn?1338180918 . Is it common when having a thyroid problem to not have much of an appeitite. My appetite is not much. You would think I would have more of appetite condsiderng all the excercise I do, At least 3 to 4 times a week I either do water aerobics, walk or ride the stationery bicycle. So it is common to have a slower metabolism with Hashimoto's and not feel hungry after not eating very much.
Avatar n tn Our goal is to correct the hypothyroid response in a weight loss patient and return him/her to normal metabolism so that the patient feels normal and is better able to lose weight and maintain that loss.
Avatar n tn I bet in ten years the medical community will know a lot more about whether and how the virus affects the metabolism, and whether and how that changes after SVR.
Avatar m tn Thanks for posting. Her issue doesn't seem to be related to any of those things. She has been eating healthy, exercising, etc. Just had a physical and no thyroid issues, bloodwork normal. As expected, the doctor had trouble believing the story.
Avatar m tn The last couple years I have been watching myself so closely. I have noticed that hypo mania causes me to eat a lot and depressive states I hardly eat for days. I weight the same in my 40's as I did in my mid teens, most of the time. I normally weigh about 180 and am pretty fit, but months of mania in India lead to extreme situations that landed me at 130 pounds. I am trying to see if my appetite changes and then my mood, or if my mood affects my appetite.
Dinosaur I am 45 yrs old and I am gaining weight even though I am not consuming more calories. I know your metabolism slows down as you age and I am just wanting to know if anyone has any advise as to how I can rev up my metabolism.
1770925 tn?1365618522 However, electrolytes help in nerve conduction, muscle contraction and relaxation, release of hormones, digestion, bone modeling, and what not. So, electrolyte excess and deficiency can cause many problems. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn Hi. I am 13 years old and i look like i am anerxic. But here's the problem i'm not. I have trouble gaining weight because i have a super fast metabolism. Avatar n tn m assuming my carnitine miracle has something to do with fat and/or sugar metabolism, and that whatever malfunction I have is probably outside the resources of my HMO. My question is if there's any reason to follow up with a doctor to try to find out what's going on, or should I just be happy that I apparently have my life back. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I was on a high dose of prednisone and now off about five months(on for six) and it made me gain alot of weight in my belly and thighs, which I cant seem to get rid of . Talk to doctor he said my metabolism has slowed due to the med, as well as low estrogen, Any advice? weight is at stand still even with exercise and moderate food intake, water.
Avatar m tn I'm 17 and for as long as I can remember I have had problems with my metabolism in the sense that i can't stand sugar, dairy products but also in the sense of that i have on average 4 bowel movements a day and it is really starting to interfere with my life. These days how long I can go and hang out with my friends is very limited because I am constantly nervous that I will have to run to the nearest bathroom at a moments notice.
Panda You can do it at home only 10minutes per session 3x per day-- As far as metabolism-try eating coconut oil and cutting back on sugar and carbs. I need motivation too so I don't have the answer for that! But try to keep posting on here and it has been working for me for the past couple days.
Avatar m tn 7 week and 165 day blood test an 4 oralswab at home test after 90 days all neg. I was on 3 steroid dosal packs and two steroid epidurals during this time. I'm a slow metabolizer missing enzyme cyp2d6.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure to whom you are addressing your question. I haven't done a lot of research on the subject, but since hypothyroidism does affect metabolism, I'd guess that alcohol metabolism would be altered, just as food metabolism is altered.
Avatar f tn Metabolism is another way of thinking about the rate at which calories are burned. Heavier people interestingly have higher metabolisms than smaller people do, because they require more calories over the course of a day to maintain their body's functions. I generally don't recommend supplements to increase one's metabolism, but small amounts of caffeine as well as catechins contained in green tea will boost metabolism a bit.
