alendronate once monthly

I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?

Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

for example..may 27, june 13, july12, august 26 but it happens once every month and lasts for 8 days.Is it really necessary to match the date?

I was treated with the 24 wk interferon and ribavirin geno 2...3 months after treatment undected next and the 6 month test is in 2 weeks. I have two friends that have been recently told they have 'C'. Hi there - I have IDC breast cancer and Crohn's and have had monthly B12 shots for some 25 yrs. Luckily, I didn't lose my hair when on FEC chemo for breast cancer,as I had the cold cap treatment alongside, but it thinned enough that I could see my scalp on top of my head. 30+ yrs of steroids has thinned my bones significantly, so I was prescribed a bisphosphonate (Alendronate) alongside calcium (Calcichew) and Vitamin D3. in the UK an expert on Lymes from Porton Down was saying that once you have lymes and it is in your there is no cure, and he was complaining about all the bogus treatments in the states and said they were useless. So that made me feel really depressed. I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.

thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

I am in my 30's and I have always had a normal 3-5 day monthly menstral cycle until the last 4 years I have been having a menstral cycle once every year. I have no idea why. Is it bad to miss two monthly appts? All my doctor did at my other ones was check for the heartbeat and asked if I was doin okay.

Our daughter 5 years old, has had almost monthly vomiting for the past year. Lasts 4 to 12 hours, throws up 4 to 10 times... In Jan she ended up in ER, threw up about 15 times in 3 hours. Started throwing up blood. Was put on meds, lab results were all fine. Doctors think she is sensitive to the tummy bug but 2 out of the 8 times she has had it did other family members/class mates have tummy bug Pale, Upset tummy, sometimes headache or leg pain "growing pains" Doctor said.
