The last thing the periodontist said to us was if we had to choose between the periodontal and orthodontist was to get the teeth straightened and if there was problem we could then address that problem.The last thing the orthodontist said to us was we should have a strong foundation to start the straightening process. We are now so confused we do not know which way to proceed. Should the periodontal work be completed prior to the braces or what???????
I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
5 centimeter supra-orbital bone tumor that has been completely stable on scans since 3 and 1/2 years ago. I have had a continuous intractable headache behind my forehead which has not responded to the usual headache therapy regimen. It is believed to be monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the skull. I have found articles to suggest that high-dose bisphosphonate therapy (40 mg/day for 6 months) offers a significant improvement in patients with fibrous dysplasia of the skull.
thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(
s flare, severe nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss of 18 lbs in last 6 weeks,steatorrhea, pain in mid chest and right upper quadrant. Had CT scan 2 weeks ago which showed significant inflammation in terminal ileum and old pancreatitis with calcification. Gastroscopy last week showed oesphagitis.Biopsies taken. Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
Hi, I asked a question previously. I have a 3.5 x 2.5 cm supra-orbital bone tumor that is believed to be fribrous dysplasia. I began having an intractable pressure headache behind my forehead which became worse just over 3 years ago, and this is what lead to a brain scan. Since it's discovery in 2005, the tumor has remained completely unchanged. I have the monostotic disease.
Could sleep apnea be connected to migraines headaches and also can hypertension be connected to sleep apnea along with restless leg syndrome?
I an new to anxiety and now my blood pressure is 158/98. I had Gestational hypertension with my son but that was at 27weeks I'm 14+5 right now and wondering if it's anxiety or if it's Gestational hypertension at an earlier time.
I will soon be nursing my second child, I'm due any day and I have chronic hypertension. You should already be taking a pregnancy safe medication for hypertension and if what you're taking now is not safe for nursing, then your doctor will change your meds after you have rhe baby. Just make sure he or she knows that you are planning on nursing at your next appointment and they should be able to answer any questions you have.

Interestingly enough, my gyno referred me to the pharmacist and the pharmacist couldn't tell me anything I didn't already know from the internet- so-- if you would be kind enough to offer your opinion - ..... if the mechanism of action is to decrease osteoclasts (thereby dead bone cells are not removed) - is this helpful to have denser bones made of dead bone tissue?
I have diabetes for 10 years and recently got diagnosed with Hypertension. I am not overweight and i got these genetically.

I started having migraine in may 1995 since then i've been having attacks after attack, but the last i had was 7yrs ago i don't know why it stopped. But, in nov 2008 i discovered that my bp is going up 135/87 with my mother's home test kit, within 2 months i.e jan 2009 it went up to 150/100 i was very scare i went to see a doctor and i was tested and treated with the following: asomex 5mg (2wks dose), cardioace, eve fishoil and cognitol.
10 and 155lbs. I was very active several years ago and raced motocross for years. I went to my family doctor and she check my thyroid. Those results came back good. So I asked her to check my epinephrine levels because it almost seems like i have too much adrenaline. Those results cam back slightly high so she referred me to an endocrinologist. She also put me on 50mg of metoprolol (beta blocker).
Right after taking it, I sat up and did it again and it was 130/86. This has happens several days now. I have a history of arrhythmia and am on beta blockers and BP meds. I have had two episodes and the last resulted in an ablation (sp?). Is the difference in my BP normal or indicative that something else might be going on?
