Avatar m tn The last thing the periodontist said to us was if we had to choose between the periodontal and orthodontist was to get the teeth straightened and if there was problem we could then address that problem. The last thing the orthodontist said to us was we should have a strong foundation to start the straightening process. We are now so confused we do not know which way to proceed. Should the periodontal work be completed prior to the braces or what???????
Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Avatar n tn Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
Avatar m tn 5 centimeter supra-orbital bone tumor that has been completely stable on scans since 3 and 1/2 years ago. I have had a continuous intractable headache behind my forehead which has not responded to the usual headache therapy regimen. It is believed to be monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the skull. I have found articles to suggest that high-dose bisphosphonate therapy (40 mg/day for 6 months) offers a significant improvement in patients with fibrous dysplasia of the skull.
Avatar m tn 5 cm supra-orbital bone tumor that is believed to be fribrous dysplasia. I began having an intractable pressure headache behind my forehead which became worse just over 3 years ago, and this is what lead to a brain scan. Since it's discovery in 2005, the tumor has remained completely unchanged. I have the monostotic disease.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

Avatar m tn I'm betting you are just fine. It is anyone's guess how accurate a public Blood Pressure machine is, and also, I'm betting you sit down and immediately test your pressure. It is best if you are at rest for a few minutes prior to the test. That said, your blood pressure results aren't very high. I'd enjoy the surfing and quit worrying.
1398693 tn?1343684738 A high diastolic can be caused by stiffening of the arteries, through age, or through coronary artery disease As people become older, the diastolic pressure will begin to decrease and the systolic blood pressure begins to rise and becomes more important. ...There is a differentiation with diastolic and age. For the younger people, the diastolic blood pressure is an important metric.
Avatar m tn Blood pressure readings between normal blood pressure and high blood pressure are considered to be pre-hypertension, which when addressed can be controlled or corrected to prevent hypertension.
Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago I was in the 160s/90 my doctor put me on a very high dose of blood pressure meds. I refused to take them. I asked for bed rest instead he said no and insisted on b the meds. So I switched am now on bed rest at the hospital and my blood pressure has not been higher than 125/70. Rest rest and rest it will help. Don't over think about it. You will be fine mama.
Avatar f tn If you can, buy a home blood pressure monitor and keep track of it at home. It could have been a spike due to stress. If it stays a little higher, they may give you a med to help keep it down until baby comes.
Avatar f tn I hate to say it but i think my blood pressure is high because of my son. He is 6 and just refuses to listen to me or my husband. We have tried the corner, taking things away EVERYTHING. I am so sick of fighting with him everyday!!!
Avatar m tn If you look at old forum threads on Blood Pressure and TX, you will find that many people develop high BP, Metabolic Syndrome, Thyroid problems, and even autoimmunity after doing tx. The BP issue seems to appear in many right after getting off of tx. Search for old threads and you will find lots of info on this subject. Personally I think that the high BP that appears for a group of us after tx may come from the development of a degree of autoimmunity.
Avatar m tn Your mother's blood pressure is in the high range of low blood pressure. If and when it gets to about 50/33 it is considered dangerous. Regarding sepsis most individuals survive severe sepsis and recover completely and their lives return to normal and hopefully there is no permanent kidney damage. Sometimes drinking 5 to 7 glasses of water per day can help normalize blood pressure and heart rate.
Avatar f tn I felt very faint but not flushed when my blood pressure was too low and that was because I was taking high blood pressure medication (which as of now my doctor discontinued because they were bottoming me out)....
Avatar f tn What are you doing for the high blood pressure? Maybe your blood-pressure medications need adjustment, and/or your diet. You should certainly be able to have normal life activities (including orgasm) even though you have high bp. I'd talk to the doctor.
Avatar n tn So I had a recent doctors visit back in May and my blood pressure was 120/80. Not too shabby. At this point I didnt even know what blood pressure was but I knew mine was good. However now that I knew what BP was I, being anxious about my health, wanted to learn more. So a month later I (and lots of anxious research later) I found a supermarket BP machine and got a reading of 137/80. Noticibly higher.
Avatar f tn I had legit pregnancy hypertension and it was that high during birth so that after, I had a blood pressure cuff that took my pressure every 2 hours for 24 hours. (THAT was a pain as it wakes you up as it squeezes your arm). Just talk to your doctor Paige next visit or even call in before if you are worried.
Avatar n tn But she asked if I wanted to be induced at 39 weeks, which I most certainly do NOT want! So she said we will watch my blood pressure very closely and make decisions based on that. Both my parents have high BP but I was always on the low side when I was young. It has been normal this whole pregnancy. I have had a lot of swelling, though. This is nothing like my first prenancy! My mother in law was very worried about preclampsia because of the swelling but my BP wasn't worrisome until now.
4948466 tn?1392168046 I take my blood pressure using a wrist cuff "Life Source" device and my blood pressure varies considerably during the day. I try to sit down and rest a couple of minutes before taking the readings but always big swings. Occasionally 165/90 and a couple of hours later 113/71. I take 3 readings each time. I do the same at the drug store and get similar varied results. 63 years old with a history of past high cholesterol, normal now. Why the big swings?
