Hello, my name is Justin and I was curious about the effects of taking adderall had on motor neuron and glutamate function. I am currently in medical school and have been taking adderall for some time now and notice that when I am taking in caffeine along with adderall I experience muscle twitching within my arms, legs, and fingers. Previously to my arrival at school, I was checked out by a neurologist who performed a NVC/EMG and said everything was fine.
The first time I tried to masturbate on Adderall, I noticed a small trace of red in the semen. Completely freaked me out. Did research and from what I found out besides prostate issues it may be an STD. I have no symptoms, rash, anything unusual, no pain. This only happened once since it was a Friday and I do not do Adderall over the weekend.
My son was put on adderall and then concerta for adhd and add.both of them did nothing.but he ended up having seizures.on both sides of his brain.know medicine have worked.and this June the VNS was put in.
The seizures seem to come when he is hipper at times,also when scared.When I ask him if he worrys a lot he says yes.Thou I tell him not to.
He would get a lot of seizures at school,when changing classes or when asked to do something he didn't know how to do or want to do.
Her school tried to force her to get him on adderall. She refused and instead put him in karate and got more involved in his sports. His behavior changed dramatically and he is making good grades in school.
Parents need to start placing the blame on teachers in the schools and their methods of teaching. Teachers love these drugs because it makes their job allot easier...
Sadly, doctors leave important facts out as they are writing the prescription and the long term affects these drugs cause.

i believe most large chain pharmacies are linked and i believe i heard that just what you are speaking of is going to take place in the next couple of years, i know that a couple years could be a couple lives late, but yeah i do think its in the planning stage right now...
For the past month I have seen a change in both my behavior/attitude and mood...towards everything and anything. I'm more aggressive and easily irritated and annoyed. I lose my temper and am very impatient.. At the end of last year to the beginning of this year til like May I would say I was pretty positve and happy. But lately, I'm just depressed. I feel alone. and I'm not happy. Could the fact that I'm taking adderall be a reason to why I could be depressed?
Thank you for ur response. The problem is the state isn't helping and I can't get a neurologist until he is on Medicare which will be November 2014. The neurologist say they want to help but can't til he is on the Medicare. The neuropsychologist that we are seeing won't give him prescription approval until he can sit and take a 6 hour test. He can't take the test without the adderall because he can't sit still long enough.
I got sent to a special school all thru high shool they had me on 30mg adderall 100 mg zoloft every morning total 4 years huge interaction Now it is like 9 years later & I've started taking meds again adderall in the morning 4 my adhd & xanax 4 my anxiety & agoraphobia the drs started me on xanax like 3 years ago & I was on a low dosage until a few months ago when my drs changed I went from having anxiety free full nights sleep with 1mg of xanex but then the dr upped it to 2

What kind of school is your son at?
Is it a mainstream only school that has no experience of children on the autistic spectrum.
All the things you mention are common to his diagnosis. In school they should be presenting his work in such a way that he can cope with it.
If he has problems following whole class instructions he may need to be taught in smaller groups.
then during the summer when i was not in school i stopped talking it. when i came back to school and started talking it, my first check up said i was ok. then last week i went in and the doctor said i had a high haert rate (114). i went back for a nother check up 1 day later and it was about the same. so i am asking do you think this change in heart rate will pass or do i need to get off the adderall, or is there something else i can do to help bring my heart rate down?
I tried Vyvanse and it did not have the same effect as Adderall, in fact, it did not help me at all. I cannot give you medical advice because I am not a doctor. I can say that you should not give up because you deserve the same quality of life as everyone else does, you should try to give Adderall a little break by stopping taking it every day, let your body and mind take a rest. example; take a few days off a week from Adderall and then start back. you may have good results. You need to be removed....this is a site to get people off of drugs and if that person lost someone to w/ding off of adderall then that's what it is. Aderrall is a beast and in this case its not being used correctly. Not to mention klonopin and sub's and alcohol....maybe a reality check IS EXACTLY what this person needs. Oh yeah, and Ambien....
I'm a 54 year old female, 5'1 and weight 105 pounds. I've been an avid runner all my life. I've been diagnosed with ADD approximately 6 years ago. I have been on Wellbutrin 300mg for a few years. Last year when I was on adderall I found that my bicycling or running would seem so so hard to do at my previous level. I would get shortness of breath and my heart would race extremely high.
His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite. When we went to see his specialist, 6 days ago, he'd lost 4.5 lbs (in 40 days).
The other downside is that he takes sleeping pills at night to knock him self out after a day of adderall. I found a bottle of purchased adderall and sleeping pills in his pocket, and I knew that there must be a problem. He denies that he is dependent and has a problem, but I know he does. He does not eat much anymore, and smokes more than a pack of ciggs a day. He drinks excessive amounts of soda and eats alot of candy.
The reason i think i have addisons is because i had a problem with my acth and my symptoms.
super dark brown hyper pigmentation, Chronic fatigue syndrome, weakness, anxiety, i feel better at night, personality change, losing weight... i weigh 95lbs now, but the lowest was 79lbs and im 22 years old....and many more symptoms. The tanning part is why i think its addisons. i've never tanned in my life and im extremely dark and i haven't seen the sun in like two years.
We have tried changing his diet and did find removing red 40 and yellow 10 to help, but now that some research has come out with medical marijuana (which I feel is as plant based as you can get) I am curious if doctors would prescribe to a child w/ ADHD. I only wish the best for my child and want to see him exceed in school and become a productive member of society. I understand the taboo of giving this to children but if it would help my son I could live with it.
I need to study a lot so I have turned to none other all mighty adderall. During school, I would take it only on weekends or days when I am writing a big paper, or before an exam. It really did help me out a lot and I don't know if I could have done as good as I did with out it.
But now, I am studying everyday, all day. So I use it every day, all day. 40mg XR first thing in the morning. Then I study. But lately its been doing a lot of damage on me.
