They look similair but arent as rasied. My doctor told me to put on some lotion that starts with an e. That didnt seem to help. Anyone have any answers?

I can't remember the name of the prescription lotion for KP, but I tried it and reacted badly to it. It's the only one out there that is a prescription.
I wouldn't mind hearing more about this if you find a solution to the KP problem. I find that with me that the only thing to do for me is to do my best not to irritate the skin where the KP is, such as the backs of my arms.

This can be due to a viral infection or bacterial infection causing folliculitis, skin rash and pus formation. Apply warm compresses,Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I spoke with a dermatologist about it and i left with a prescription for adapalene. After a month of application on my nose, the problem has not improved. I am having a difficult time understanding how the product could be working. Is there another product that i should be using with the adapalene gel? Is there something else that i could be using? Hi! Keratosis Pilaris is a genetic disorder, so it definitely sounds like a possibility since your mother has similar symptoms also. Check with your doctor to be sure this is what you have though.
Basically as I'm sure you've read it is where skin builds up at the hair follicles and gives a "chicken skin" type of appearance.

The swelling was due to the second degree burns that you had. Also apply a good sunscreen with minimum spf 30 atleast half an hour before going out in the sun and wear long sleeved cotton clothes.
