humira

Avatar f tn I'm new to this forum , but when I saw the subject line "21/2 year old, possible diabetes", it caught my attention, because our daughter (who is 8 now) was diagnosed with Type 1 3 months after her 2nd birthday. Please let us know what you found out at the doctor's this morning. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I can't imagine how scary it must be for you to think about your 2 y.o. having T1, since you are T1 yourself.
Avatar n tn Yesterday my rheumatologist has finally decided to give me something other than anti-inflammatories and anti-depressants for my list of symptoms which he has decided are due to either Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis (Palindromic Rheumatism was mentioned too) or possibly all of the above, with a side order of Fibromyalgia. Just wondering if anyone here has taken Humira (Adalimumab) as I've read about it and am freaking out a bit!
Avatar m tn As there was no improvement. Doctor adviced to have Exemptia (Adalimumab) injection. 4 injections (40mg 8ml) was given. Next day he was having stomach pain, tight and rigid stomach, and fast breathing. He was immediately admitted in the nearby hospital and doctor found he was suffering from megacolon (toxic colon). After taking x-ray and CT scan, it was found that there was perforation in his stomach.
Avatar n tn I have started withdrawal by cutting down for the last 8 or 10 days. I am down to 2 per day now and still suffering symptoms. Taking 1 helps me get through the day even though the symptoms persist just a little easier to take. If I can keep it at 1 or 2 for 24 hours will I get over the symptoms? I am traveling shortly and I will not have access which should help finish my detox.
Avatar n tn I have injected humira 2 weeks ago and after 3 days developed a itch and cant sleep. will it subside?
Avatar m tn Yes, Humira will indirectly help in controlling diarrhea and digestion. Let me explain this. Humira or adalimumab is a biological response modifier and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker. Thus, in Crohn’s it will modify your body’s response to disease (bloating, tenderness, diarrhea, indigestion etc). This is because any immune mediated disease like Crohn’s produces excess of an inflammatory protein called TNF-alpha, which causes cellular damage along with pain and inflammation.
Avatar n tn MRI Cervical W/Wo - (FOM/0011) Technique T1 and T2 weighted sagittal, T1 and GRE axial, post contrast T1 weighted constrast. Findings C 2-3, C3-4, C4-5. Unremarkable. C 5-6, C6-7. Small disc bulging at these levels. The sentral cnal and neural foramina appear adequate. c-7-T-1: Unremarkable. Cervical curvature and alignment are within normal limits. No abnormal cervical cord signal is seen. Impression: Small posterior disc bulging c5-6 and c6-7, without apparent neural compression.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response! I had an MRI of my brain and cervical spine. My initial complaint was back/neck pain however, over the course of the last two weeks I have had a lot of new really strange symptoms so my PCP finally ordered an MRI. My symptoms are left side numbness, tingling, vibrating, muscle spasms, blurry/jumpy vision, itching, tinnitus and burning hamstrings and feet. I got my report directly from the imaging center where the MRI was done.
Avatar f tn Some think eating healthy (low glycemic carbs) and exercise can help prevent or delay T2 There is no way to prevent T1. T1 is a disease where you body thing the insulin producing cells in your pancreas are invading. so your immune system KILLS your insulin producing cells. T1s MUST use insulin or die. T2s can use pills and or insulin too.
Avatar f tn 3 Tesla MRI of the cervical spine without contrast was performed utilizing sagittal T1, sagittal T2, sagittal STIR, axial T2, postcontrast axial T1 and sagittal T1 sequences. Comparisons: None. Findings: Corresponding to the palpable marker is an approximately 8 x 6 x 4 mm structure within the subcutaneous soft tissues at approximately the level of C2-C3, which is T1/T2 hypointense and demonstrates homogeneous enhancement.
Avatar f tn Taper off the steroids to low potency ones after consulting your dermatologist. The drugs that have been approved by FDA are adalimumab and Xtrac Velocity excimer laser system. Apart from that, topical medications like emollients, creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids have been routinely used. Phototherapy containing UV A has also been employed.
1421489 tn?1285525635 T2/ Flair axial, T2 sagittal, T1 coronal and diffusion imaging with post gadolinium T1 axial/ coronal/sagittal images of the brain. T1/T2 post gadolinium T1 sagittal and axial images through the cervical spine. T1 coronial images through the orbits. There are some tiny hemespheric white matter T2 hyperintensities (at least 10, including at least 3 periventricular lesions). There is no infratentorial signal abnormality demonstrated. Most of the lesions were present on the MRI of 05/10.
Avatar m tn Doctor has doubt that it is Type-1 and he suggested for insulin. So I visited other hospital and they told that it is Type-2. I have asked them how did you decided this is Type-2. They answered that if it is Type-1 then you will not be appeared like this and you don't have symptoms. They have started treatment with tablets. Now my random sugar is 113( After one week of medication). Can you suggest me whether it is Type-1 or Type-2?

Avatar m tn While it is antihistaminics, topical and oral steroids for eczema and antifungal for fungal infection, the treatment of psoriasis that have been approved by FDA are adalimumab and Xtrac Velocity excimer laser system. Apart from that, topical medications like emollients, creams containing coal tar, dithranol, corticosteroids, fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues and retinoids have been routinely used. So before using any treatment it is advisable to consult a dermatologist. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn 5 tesla machine with newer software, the T1 Proton Spin Echo (PSE) takes about 10 min. A T1 Fast Spin Echo tales about 8 min and a T1 Turbo Spin Echo takes about 5 min. Since there are two T1 sequences (pre and post GAD) you can chop 10 mi out of the study by using TSE vs. PSE T1 sequences. My imaging center will only allow the techs to use PSE on brain imaging. No FSE or TSE T1 sequences.
