actonel

Avatar f tn After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months. Not sure yet, but my low back muscles are killing me.
Avatar f tn This has been increased to 40mg but the pain from my hiatus hernia is still present specially in my back and loads of indigestion , starts after breakfast been on these now since a week this thursday but have found that my ankles have swollen and my feet also get wheezy saw from sheet in pills that these are rare side effects so cannot decide whether to go back doctor.or not it is beginning to make me fed up.
Avatar n tn My doctor is putting me on Actonel but I am reluctant to start. Side effects are very worrisome... not sure what to do. I have started mega doses of supplements and calcium and D and excercise and I want someone to tell me that that has worked for them. Most comments I get is to take the drug because it's more effective. I can't believe everyone is taking bisphosphonates or other drugs like that. Please let me hear from you if you see this!,,, Thanks, and hope you are doing well!
Avatar f tn Because of my GERD, my doctor prescribed an IV infusion of Reclast. Unfortunately, I suffered some of the side effects, fever, and severe bone pain to the point of not being able to take in a full breath. My doctor was so concerned he put me on a steroid dose pack to reduce the reaction. My body doesn't seem very tolerant of any drugs, couldn't take anything other than extra strength Tylenol for a foot surgery. I will have to figure out something else with an endocronologist?
Avatar n tn As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar f tn I was just thinking about the pain during labor and im super nervous on what i should do.me and pain dont get along! Are the side effects from a epidural really bad and do it last a lifetime ?
Avatar n tn As I have researched why this is possible nothing makes sense. Heart test are good, has not drank alcohol in over 30 years, no intermuscular injections. He is a fairly large woman, he is about 235 lbs. and swims about 4 times a week.
Avatar f tn not really considered ablation, only had 3 episodes of afib, i have an asd and right side of heart enlarged, waiting to hear from cardiologist if they are going to close hole in heart which should reduce swelling of right side of heart. more worried about enlargement of heart than afib, because if hole is left untreated the i might get heart failure or heart block, dont know why they put my on such a high dose of sotalol with only 3 episodes of afib within a year.
Avatar n tn Unable to take calcium channel blockers and beta blockers due to very low blood pressure. Also, nitro has some adverse side-effects, as well. In 2009 an endoscopy showed that I had developed GERD, and also another cardiologist diagnosed coronary artery spasm, which he said was the probable cause of my initial heart attack, and to avoid stressful triggers.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn Has anyone else experienced Monitor Side Effects? The following day after wearing the Monitor I experienced dizzy spells and light headedness. This was not suggestiveness as I never expected this reaction nor had anyone mentioned such a thing. And this surprise had nothing at all to do with why I was monitoring my heart. It persisted for two weeks while I was monitoring in the given manner. I took the Monitor off after that time and the dizzyness gradually went away.
Avatar m tn He had a third seizure there and the vet diagnosed epilepsy. He is on phenobarbitol and had no side effects until last night when he vomited and started head twitching. He is drooling a lot and a bit wobbly. Is this typical? Will it stop ?
Avatar n tn Yes, 2 chest x-rays. Heart normal, no pneumonia, etc. Both chest x-rays looked good. I have been released from the pulmonologist because he doesn't find anything wrong with me for him to treat. I have not had a catscan of the chest because the pulmonoligist did not see from the x-rays any reason to pursue that avenue.
Avatar n tn I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
Avatar f tn Instead of coming off the the meds abruptly, think about coming off of the meds a step at a time over a period of weeks-to-months. There can be a problem with 'rebound' reflux and it can make a person miserable. So please factor that into your plan. Issues being reported with the use of PPIs and heart/electrical conduction disturbances, and this side-effect is now being noted on the 'side-effect' section of the patient handouts on these medications.
907968 tn?1292622204 I just got a refill of my Carvedilol (3.125mg) I take two pills in the morning and two in the evening and it has been this way since August '09. I read the side effects just out of curiosity and I had nothing better to do and what I found was, "Check with your Dr. as soon as possible If you experience cold or numb legs or feet or unusual leg pain". And it goes on to say "Contact your Dr. immediately if you experience....(lists what seems like 10,000 things)...
Avatar n tn I've been on armour about a week and half for my hypo and have just recently started to feel some side effects. I've started getting some pains in my chest, it feels like it's right up under my heart, mostly during the night or in the morning. They don't really last long but I definitely notice it when its there. I am also very aware of my heart beat, even though it's not racing and at a normal rate, around the time these happen.
Avatar m tn Metoprolol is like the Tic-Tac of beta blockers. Lots of people take it with little aide effects. I take 75 milligrams per day, but have been on as high as 200 milligrams per day.The dose you have put yourself on is extremely small. Metoprolol's half life is approximately 5 hours. If you do the math, you will see there is very little left of the drug in your blood when you take your next dose.
Avatar f tn m a 27 y/o healthy female who has been on 25 mg of toprol for a week and a half now. Also, I had an AVNRT ablation done on August 6th which has produced some side effects like increased heart rate, dizziness and lightheadedness. The doctors put me on toprol to mitigate some of those issues. In any case, I am extremely fatigued to the point that my head feels like it weighs 50 pounds, I have weak spells, lightheadedness and all of that is creating some anxiety.
Avatar n tn Hair loss is sometimes a side effect of taking beta blockers. Not sure if there's a way to stop that other than changing medications. You have normal sinus rhythm but it's fast? How fast? If it's consistently over 100, you should talk to your cardio about that. It's not normal or healthy. Your meds may need to be adjusted.
