Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar n tn I also have the same sort of pain, especially when I'm working or bending over alot. I tease my husband and tell him that work gives me heartburn....but it's true. I have my bed elevated abour 2 inches higher at the head and it really does help. I take 30 milligrams of Prevacid every single day and have taken it for nearly 9 years to control the GERD symptoms. I have always had the tenderness in the center of my chest as well.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn i am a student at the university of leeds. I study product design and for my final project i am designing a pill dispenser. would anyone feel comfortable answering a questionnaire i have designed towards people who take regular medication?
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.

Avatar n tn I have started mega doses of supplements and calcium and D and excercise and I want someone to tell me that that has worked for them. Most comments I get is to take the drug because it's more effective. I can't believe everyone is taking bisphosphonates or other drugs like that. Please let me hear from you if you see this!,,, Thanks, and hope you are doing well!

Since both my parents have ulcers, and members of my family, have had stomach tumors before. the Dr. looked at me, after i was done talking, and he was like "sounds like you do have a problem, come and c me after you have your baby" I was sooooo Mad at him. But he is right there is nothing he can do for me now, so i am going to see another Dr. Tomorow i hope he is more helpfull.

Avatar f tn I'm 16 years old and I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease) in July. Since then, I have been on Tapazole (10 Mg, 3x/day). When I was first diagnosed, my T3 was 669; my T4 was 4.5 and my TSI was at 350. I was essentially asymptomatic. Now, my thyroid hormone levels are normal, but my TSI is slowly decreasing (it's 325 now). Lately, I've been having severe heartburn. I eat a snack when I come home from school and that's all.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
1827365 tn?1410506306 I'm 24 weeks pregnant and have been having terrible heartburn for the last weeks. My doctor prescribed Zantac and I can take up to 2 tablets, one every 12 hours. The thing is, today is the first day I had to take 2! These last days one was enough, and today, honestly, none of the tablets have worked. I'm so worried, plus, still have this heartburn and have no clue how to deal with it! It's so uncomfortable and painful! :( Has any of you been through this?

Avatar n tn Thanks for the replies...the heartburn just started the past couple days. I do find that TUMS helps a little but not for long! Felt like I had a huge air bubble stuck centrally under my ribcage! UGH...the panic attacks started about 2 mos ago and now I have almost all day anxiety. I dont have my lab results to post, I was just told I was hyper. Im having a biopsy done on the mass in my neck on Wednesday. So my anxiety will be sky high at least until thats over!
Avatar n tn Nope, Xanax. I was just saying how I'm trying to avoid heartburn, being off Nexium and all. But, nevermind, I looked it up and found out Xanax does wear away the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.
