ok so if they say you are negative on the hiv test basically they will not take anymore acton? Im hoping to soon get over this fear in my life.. How did you get passed it?
I had a planned c section with my now 20 month old and it was a wonderful experience. I went in around 9am. They prepared me for the surgery, took me to the O.R around noon, the anesthesiologistcame in and gave me my spinal block, which was a lot less painful than the epidural I received with my first son, he left & doctor came in. checked to see if I was numb, and of course I was so they put a curtain up and begin the surgery.

Well I got the nerve up and called about my ca 125 I have to say I am still in luck after 16months since my last chemo it is still low 3.2. So to celebrate I am flying to Seattle in August to do another danskin triatholon. Just did the Austin one 2 weeks ago. It was really hard much harder than Seattle but I finished and had a great time. I have found I love to swim so that was my best part.
My CA 125 came back at 17. I hope that is good. I still wonder if the trace of free fluid has any significance?

I agree with everything the women here are saying. 6 cm is really not that large, and a CA-125 of 166 is elevated, but not extremely elevated. Some women who I've read about have had it at that level (and even higher) and not had ovarian cancer. It's simply not reliable as a screening tool. However, like the other women here have said, you want to push to have OVCA ruled out. It sounds like you're on the right path to do that.

I grew up in Bakersfield, CA, sometimes called the Armpit of CA. That's because it sits about in the crook (if you look at the map). Or, it could be b/c it smells. Lots of dairies around that place. Bakersfield's roots are heavy in Country Western. Merle Haggard and Buck Owens are from there. Courtney music probably put it on the map. Agriculture is also heavy.
(he had reviewed her ultrasound). The CA 125 was 74.5 and she is going to see a GYN oncologist in Jan. I am a nurse and have been crying everyday. Is that too long to wait? I wish I didn't know so much sometimes. Is the fact that her uterus was normal and the cyst didn't seem to concern the docs( obviously) a sign that nothing looked too unusual. My son is military and they have to get referred for everything. I realize there is no crystal ball but I am so scared.
I am having surgery Friday to remove 2 large ovarian cyst. One is 10cm. My first CA 125 was 4, if this test is not reliable as my doctor tells me, why will they be doing another? Why not just do the surgery and get it over with. Im starting to think its an insurance thing. And why do some doctors rely on it and not others. How accurate is this test?
My Mom diagnosed with Ovarian CA last three years and ongoing with Chemotherapy. Recently she had a small bowel obstruction surgery... Because of this now she has obstruction in the abdominal and had few thoracentesis and one paracentesis took out 1000cc,etc.
She is not on chemotherapy for more than 3 months and I think because of this so that the mass of the tumur is enlarging causes obstruction. She is on TPN and NPO for more than 2 months and still now in the hospital.
I lost my mother 2 yrs ago to Primary Peritoneal/Ovarian cancer. I took the ca-125 test 2 yrs ago never thinking it would come back abnormal. It was 36, and had to repeat the tests and had vaginal ultrasounds with no findings. This occurred while my mother was alive and she said 36 is not all that hight (considering hers was 10,0000) It went back down over a couple of months.
I'll be praying for you and your surgery. Like Marty said, ca-125 can be elevated for many reasons and can't be 100% directly related to cancer. Although your ca-125 number is high, we've seen a lot higher. When I was dx mine was 6,000. Please keep us updated, and best of luck.
I am one year out of chemo for stge 3 ovarian. when diagnosed my ca was 424 after my chemo 6 iv and 8 ipmy ca was 1.4. It has stayed low and run from 3 to 1.9 current. My question when do you do CAT scans ordo I wait and hope the ca is accurate. He said my exam felt normal, I don't want to sound unaprreciated for the good fortune but also don't want to miss something if it is changeing.
m scared for my life and no one has a clue how to treat it here. Do I move to CA or FL hoping for something or is there an answer for late stage treatment for rocky and LYME with all co-infections possible anywhere they take insurance ? I can't find a doctor let alone a center or someone who can tell me what to do. The CDC denies it's real. After 30 days I should be ok after antibiotics.
