I have had Herpes down below for over a decade and have been on Aciclovir 400mg tablets for many years. I did have a habit of drinking Peppermint tea and found i had reduced amount of infections when in the habit of drinking it. Years later I thought to ramp this up and have Peppermint Oil tablets (200mg per day).

I know menthol and peppermint can help but since taking a peppermint tablet, once a day, has stopped any further attacks for the last month. I have had this for over a decade and have got aciclovir tablets for it. The Quacks don't like me using it as it's the last known pill for it. The peppermint oil pills seems better than the aciclovir though. Colpermin in good as I don't get reflux with it. Not a cure but not a bad option.

Hi, around ten years ago I met a Partner and she had herpes and passed it on. As a circumcised man I have found the hepres picks on the scar region where the cut was made. I was three when I had this Op so it's an old scar. I've been on aciclovir tablets on and off for years but this area is still very prone to this infection. I get maybe 5-10 infections a year so it's still quite active.
they do not surgically remove herpes lesions on the arms. I have no idea how they diagnosed you as a child or what testing they did but I"m guessing it really wasn't herpes going on.
When you were diagnosed with hsv1 genitally, what testing did they do?
Have you been back to the gyn and have any testing done since this all started reoccuring more frequently? if so what testing was done?
I have had more herpes than ever so I went on medication to help the herpes (Aciclovir) .As I already take a strong medication for psoriasis I am wary about extra problems which can occur in my case the liver in both medications. I had made the conscious decision about the coil making my herpes more frequent but when I asked the doctors they don't think there is a connection.
My husband is a healthy male but he has genital herpes. He has been on aciclovir 200mg (twice day) for about 3 years now, because every time he stops taking the tablets he gets a herpes outbreak. He will get an outbreak at least 2-3 times a month, so that is why he is on these tablets.
We have both noticed however that he is getting some stains in his underwear which are not from sex or masturbation. Is this normal, and what is causing it?
He has no symptoms, no pain when urinating, etc.
If not I would suggest starting Suppressive Therapy such as Valtrex or Aciclovir on a daily basis rather than topical applications that may cause more irritation than good .....
On three months I had about six outbreaks so the doctor prescribed me with a course of aciclovir and told me that this should stop it for six months. He then prescribed Ocuvir 400 (aciclovir) Tablets 3 times a day for 5 days along with Ocuvir cream. This created a lot of problems for as it gave me severe diarrhea and actually confined to the bed. After using the Ocuvir for 2 days I had the first outbreak which included severe burning, red blisters on the penis head and the foreskin which were visible when pulled the foreskin back.
he was prescribed aciclovir and valaciclovir both at 200mg every 8 hours for 30 days. From what I have read so far it seems that it is usually one or the other not both. He was able to obtain the aciclovir but not able to find valaciclovir anywhere in Cuba at this time...should the one be enough for the first outbreak...and perhaps controlling any future outbreaks should he use the valaciclovir??
ve been diagnosed with Vaginal herpes and I got my first outbreak back in January, there were a lot of sores inside my labia minora and vaginal entrance I took Aciclovir tablets and it cleared up within a week. Last Tuesday I had sex with my partner and it wasn't particularly rough but I wasn't well lubricated and was painful and difficult when he entred me. After sex I was very sore and it burned when I urinated. The next day the pain was still there, in fact it was worse.

The exposure was over 6 years ago. I think the aciclovir affected the viral load and hence the tests came back negative but I know that it is herpes. What else could it be?

I went to a new chemist this morning and he said I should never take the 2 tablets together as they will cause low blood pressure. I went to the doctors last year for a check up and complained of low blood pressure ( I took a list of my last 20 readings) but was told it is nothing to worry about!. The pharmascist showed me on his computer the comments about it, and it was very worrying. I am 73. Why didn't someone mention it sooner? Could this be why I have Erectile Dysfunction?
hi, i think i'm not alone in this case. I know a lot of people have either HSV1 or HSV2 or both...this is my first time to experience herpes symptom (cold sores). Honestly I dont know if I should take the medication (aciclovir). i've read somewhere that we do not really need to do anything if we get the sores. Some people claim it will disappear on its own within few days. Is it true? so what's the point of people buying aciclovir if it disappear on its own?
