They gave me three months worth of aciclovir 400mg and told me that as soon As I notice a blister to take three tablets every day for five days. I was told that eventually the tablets will scare it from coming back. I get at least two outbreaks a month. And it's only been four months. I'm meant to be going on holiday soon and am petrified this is going to ruin my holiday.

For me it came out to be 171.37 RU/ml. The Dermatologist has prescribed me Aciclovir 400 mg, twice daily for next seven days. He has also told me to not to get involved in any intercourse. Went to the Drs last week and he confimed thats its HSV-2 and has started me on a 800mg dose of Aciclovir. I have had this dose and the 400 mg many times before but it hasnt done anything, the blister has just ran its course.

He was able to obtain the aciclovir but not able to find valaciclovir anywhere in Cuba at this time...should the one be enough for the first outbreak...and perhaps controlling any future outbreaks should he use the valaciclovir??
