Avatar f tn ) symptoms and not so great for my negative (loss of pleasure, lack of affect, lack of motivation, etc.) symptoms. Abilify works better for my negative symptoms. My cognitive (memory loss, confusion, problems with thinking, etc.) symptoms seem to be getting worse as time passes however. I however have significantly gained weight on Abilify with no signs of stopping even with exercise and dieting so I'm going to request a med change if this keeps up.

Avatar n tn Actually the Cogentin and Inderal (a blood pressure medication) might causing the memory loss but they are used to control extra-pyramidal side effects and are necccesary for that. Those are movement disorders that are temporary but he is also at risk for permanent conditions such as tardive dyskinesia which I have and in myself is as bad as Parkinsons and can emerge after the antipsychotic masks it while it is progressing. It is irreversible.

1654810 tn?1302015040 Hi, I'm on 200mg Lamictal per day. I am finding more memory loss, also a form of stuttering I think. What I do often is I repeat a word over and over something like at work, and Im the boss lol, I might say " I think we should go go go go and get this item ordered now.
Avatar f tn And I took Abilify in the past. Abilify is the antipsychotic least likely to cause weight gain but it can happen. Fish oil is good but better is the anti-cholesterol medication Lovaza derived from it which is used experimentally for bipolar. As per weight loss, I'd go on a standard diet or if its of concern go to a nutrionist. Its probably from the Abilify and usually not a problem but you would still have to keep within a normal weight limit in a healthy manner.
Avatar m tn He took me off the cogentin because it was causing me to be confused and to have memory loss. That stuff cleared up, I don't know about the other stuff yet that I asked about in this post but we'll see.

Avatar f tn Hi all, I am severely depressed & have been taking Prozac for a month now & my doc suggested Abilify to add. I had already put on 30lbs from lexapro, which is part of becoming depressed again. I have been on the Abilify for 6days now & can tell it is having a positive impact on me. I have had enough motivation to work out the past two days & I am really watching what I'm eating. Has anyone here had success with losing weight on Abilify & prozac?

Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
