My son had bell's palsy 6 months ago. His affected eye was bigger but now appears marginally smaller than the normal eye.Also when he smiles spontaneously the affected eye tends to close more than the normal eye.Will his affected eye get even smaller over the next few months or will it stay at this level ? I have an 8 year old Bichon and she very suddenly acquired Cushings. She went totally blind in her right eye and can see something (probably shadows) in her left eye so she navigates well. Talk to your doctor.about it, ask him to schedule a sleep latency test for you and go from there. About the only thing I have gotten from my Opthamologist is that I have degeneration of the retina - deeper and more degeneration in the right eye (which has the blind spot), but also some in the left eye. The blind spot is to the right of center. All eye specialists concluded my eyes are healthy and it must be persistant visual aura with no migraine or that it's something neurological. No preventitive migraine medicines helped with the spots, therefore I am not taking any medications right now. I rarely get headaches.

If they are the physiological blind spots it completely normal. Other blind spots could be due to disease in the eye, optic nerve, optic chiasm, optic tracts and radiations and visual association areas in the occipital lobe. Suggest you see a neuroophthalmologist.

Three weeks ago my right eye developed a "blind spot". I was extremely glad to find this forum as like many others of you, my ophthalmologist cannot find anything wrong. We have done numerous eye angiograms and other testing. All come back with nothing wrong. I found my normal blind spot when I close my one eye and move my finger my other eye will make part of my finger disappear, I hear this is normal because this is the normal blind spot, but with both eyes open and I look at the spot where my blind spot actually is parts of my finger disappear not as much as it would with one eye close but like parts of the sides will disappear. is this normal?
