Avatar m tn I received a results letter from my the doctor yesterday to say “your PSA has risen ever so slightly to 1.0 it was 0.5 in 2010, in 2008 it was 0.8, so I will recall this in 6 months to see if this is a fluctuation or a trend”. This got me thinking so I turned to Google as you do and scared myself silly now I am worried and not sure what to do if anything. Perhaps I am worried about nothing. But how come I have any psa at all if I haven’t got a prostate?
Avatar m tn m sure, but other than that, is there anything that will be life-altering or anything of that nature?

Avatar f tn I need to no that a women going through a change in life have to go through where sex is concern. I was and still is going through this but when I started I didn't no what was happing. And when I had sex with my husband I felt dirty, I cried but he could never see the tears. After sex I would curl up in a ball like a child and shake. Then I would lock myself in a room and cry. I went through this until I was placed on hormon medicatin, but in the mean time my husband had an affair.

Avatar m tn You need a conclusive result. Very true that your 8 week test result is unlikely to change but you could take a 4th generation Duo test and know for sure. That would be conclusive. Otherwise, you should test one more time at 90 days to confirm your negative. It will likely not change but since you did actually have a risk, you should make sure.
Avatar f tn Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered are malabsorption, infections/ inflammations, inadequate fiber intake etc. With dark stools one may need to rule out GI bleeding as well, which could again have a number of secondary causes like infections/ inflammations, ulcers, erosions, growths/ masses etc.

Growing up in a very similar situation, my mom put my sister and I at risk and subsequently we were both victims of abuse. My sis was beaten for years and I was sexually abused. All of these things over time build up and change who we become as adults. I have worked hard to overcome these things and live a very good life free of all that I grew up with.
Avatar f tn Hi ask your doctor for Metformin if you're not already on that. It slows down a lot of the symptoms of PCOS. Other Than that, I'm not aware of any other medical aspects that will help. I'm sure some ladies on here may be aware of some others if there are any. Good Luck!!
