7165624 tn?1395647767 I was told by my doctor that you can take just about anything but to stay away from the d. Take Claritin but not Claritin D, etc... Look for that d word on any sinus or allergy meds.
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar f tn Check with the doctor but he will more than likely firmly recommend Claritin and warn against Benadryl. keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I have been feeling much better on my vitamin D and zyrtec regiment. Here we are 2 years down the road and I woke up in the middle of the night with the left side of my cheek swollen up. I went to urgent care center in the morning and took 2 Benadryl before I went. 2 hours had passed and the swelling didn't change so the doctor thought that it was a infection in my mouth or an irritation from a tooth. He put me on a Zpak and sent me home.
Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
Avatar f tn My Dr told me Benadryl or Clariton.
Avatar n tn I am 20 weeks pregnant and am getting a sinus infection, I know Zyrtec D works but i dont know if im allowed to take it! Will it harm baby if I take Zyrtec D???
Avatar f tn Claritin, Zyrtec, Allegra and Benadryl... nothing that has D at the end of it though...
Avatar f tn I pee when i sneeze... I hate it.. Sorry your having sneeze attacks! I hate those.
9180989 tn?1406387996 My doctor gave me a print out list of otc medicine that is safe during pregnancy. Benadryl is on list...
1672514 tn?1304512914 Last year I had the same problem. I layered Zyrtec and Benadryl. Zyrtec took care of my respiratory symptoms, but I was constantly itchy. The Benadryl stopped the itch. I liked the liquid versions because it worked faster. If this doesn't help try eliminating the Proactive. You may need to see a doctor at some point if you can't resolve the problem. Take care and God bless.
Avatar f tn Have you tried hydro cortisone cream and Benadryl?
Avatar f tn We just adopted Penny last week. Our vet says she may have allergies and put her on benadryl 25 mg (she weighs 16 lbs) twice a day until he rechecks her on 1/7. The rescue organization wrote me and said benadryl was not safe; to use zyrtec (which I do on my male that I've had almost 10 years). Is benadryl safe for approximately 1 month's use? We want only the best for Penny. What should we do?
11803947 tn?1430842645 That doesn't do anything to me ;/ I was on high dose with allegra, zyrtec, atarax, and a few others and the sprays before pregnant. Over the counter med doesn't help but thank god today got better after the bloody nose.
681148 tn?1437661591 It seems like Akira has seasonal allergies and dust allergies in addition to her food allergies. Because I really don't want to give her long term steroids, I decided to only give her the 1/4 tablet of Zyrtec that the vet told me to give her before. I try to wait 'til I just have to give it to her, because I know that people can build up a tolerance to antihistamines, so I figure that animals can, too.
Avatar f tn I would call your doctor. I know plain Zyrtec is fine to take, but I'm not clear on Zyrtec-D. I believe the only difference is that it has Pseudoephedrine in it, but I'm not 100% and your doctor would be the safest to ask. You should just be able to call and ask and find out over the phone.
Avatar f tn My doctor was OK with me taking zyrtec. You just have to make sure to drink lots and lots of water.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec and benadryl. Zyrtec doesn't work for me, and benadryl makes me so tired. So my Dr gave me flonase and said to take the benadryl at night.
Avatar f tn Nothing works for me, but Benadryl. My doctor said Claritan and Zyrtec are safe, they just don't work for me. I started taking either half of a regular Benadryl during the day (so I won't get sleepy, haha) or children's Benadryl (it's about the same as half of a regular one). That seems to make my allergies tolerable throughout the day.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec is the safest and one of the most effective allergy meds - deals with more allergens than claritin I use the zyrtec eye drops (i've only had itchy eyes lately) and Sinus Rinse - clears and prevents congestion. It took me a long time to get over the idea of squirting water up my nose, but it is totally worth it.
