m allergic to zofran but promethazine has always worked for me. The thing about it is that it just stops you from puking, it won't stop you from being nauseous. So you may still feel sick as hell. That's why I'm happy that it knocks me out. Sleeping helps.

i take both zofran and phenagren (promethazine is just a generic name)

Hello, I am actually taking that medication which stronger than Zofran because I was taking Zofran but they really were not holdingup my sickness. Make sure that you eat a snack or a meal when you take it so it doesn't upset your stomach. It's ok if you feel a little drowsiness because is normal with that medication.

Hello. I had to take it with my first pregnancy and it was amazing. I had awful morning sickness and it was the only thing that helped. I didn't experience any side effects.

Lemon, peppermint, ginger all those things are rumored to help. I take promethazine.

s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.

I had super bad nausea in my first trimester and took zofran during the day and promethazine at night. It worked great that way I didn't wake up naucious and throwing my guts up. It defiantly does make you sleepy though because I slept like a baby in my first trimester.

I was put on zofran 8mg and promethazine 25mg. Zofran seemed to worked for a bit after taking it four times a day but then stopped. Promethazine was the one that worked better but made me really drowsy.

I have been there feeling just like that with the same horrible all day sickness and I had to go to the ER twice because I was very dehydrated. Ask your doctor about Zofran or Promethazine those medications help with the nausea and vomiting. I had Zofran at first but it didn't really hold me from throwing up then I got Promethazine 25mg and that work wonders.

Ladies dont take zofran!! The medicine used for morning sickness. There was a recall. It doubles the risk of birth defects when used in the first trimester. I'm not a dr/nurse or in the medical field of any sort... i saw it on tv and Googled the recall is all.

I feel sick almost all day, crackers, toast, ginger ale. All my go tos are not working. I throw up so much and I was prescribed promethazine by my ob gyn. Now I am one of those mom's that go natural all the way but I did take 1/2 of a tablet one day bc there was just no getting me out of bed.

is zofran safe to take during pregnancy... im 9 weeks and 4 days and the nasuea has been so bad i cant keep anythinf down at all...

I just want to say it is like night and day since they gave me a script for some , started today, I was up all last night vomiting, do not suffer ask your doctor for some!!

I was prescribed Promethazine (generic for Phenergan) & it helped me a lot.. the only downside, at least for me, was it made me extremely sleepy!

This pregnancy i was prescribed promethazine so maybe you could ask you dr about that i took my zofran over promethazine because it made me go straight to sleep...

I also had it bad first 4 months my Dr gave me promethazine and it worked wonderful

ask your doctor to prescribe you something for nausea.. Zofran, or I'm actually taking Promethazine.. my OB decided to prescribe it to me for nausea.. I'm 10w3d & I just started taking it 3 days ago, and I was nauseas every single day since week 6 of pregnancy.. from week 6-10 I was miserable, until Promethazine! just go see your doctor & they'll prescribe what you need.. good luck!!

My ob prescribed Zofran for the day time and promethazine for the evening (bc it knocks me out). I only take them as needed, but they are wonderful!

ginger tea helped me some. i was prescribed promethazine, a antihistamine, for the nausea. however, i have heard that zofran is a better drug than the promethazine.

yeah, I think I'd rather try the zofran.. idk why she chose promethazine.. maybe it's her preference? I hate to bother her about it, but I need to be conscious during the day if I have to take that stuff! lol & a dissolvable sounds much better anyways! I'm NOT swallowing a pill, and I hate having to crush them.. they taste horrible, so I'd hate to have to feel nauseous taking a nausea pill!! lol story of my life.. thanks for responding!

I had a terrible time with nausea while I was on treatment and took both Zofran and Promethazine separately. They really didn't help me all that much. I think it may be because my nausea was caused by excess acid. What actually helped me the most was saltines.
