Zofran in early pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran in early pregnancy

zofran

I wouldn't just because if for some reason they test your or the baby and you smoked late in pregnancy, it would show up. I don't oppose smoking weed but I wouldn't just because I had a m/s last year and I smoked to make myself eat, don't think they were related by any means, just makes me paranoid. lol I ate spearmints to control my nausea, or talk to your doctor and they should give you meds for it, mine gave me some, never ended up having to take them, long story.
If you were prescribed it at very very early in the pregnancy while the baby isn't even developed yet, then while baby is developing maybe it could develop a cleft lip as well while take zofran.(this is just my reasoning for it) If you have had a 3d sono and got to see baby's face and the tech didn't seem considered then I wouldn't worry. I had a 3d sonogram at 18 weeks, 16 weeks gestation and my baby doesn't have a cleft lip and I have been taking zofran since my 10th week of pregnancy.
i have used zofran in both my pregnancies, and i understand your worry. i lost 3 and 1/2 stone in 1st 15weeks i was so bad didnt leave hospital till 22weeks! the staff on the ward were desperate to help me that they called in a hypnotist. so in the end i had 2 very healthy babies and lived to tell the tale, zofran was a last resort and was the only medication that enabled me to tolerate any water or food only down side was terrible constipation, good luck!
*** Bendectin Making a Comeback Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy is the most common condition in pregnancy and affects up to 80 percent of all pregnant women. Prior to its withdrawal in 1983 the morning sickness drug Bendectin was widely used throughout the world to treat nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Its original three active ingredients were doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine), dicyclomine (an antispasmodic), and pyridoxine (vitamin B6). Bendectin was first marketed in the U.S.
It has been pretty rough week for me and I have to went. I am starting to get more and more frustrated in my pregnancy as I am in my 9th week and I am sick as a dog. My Dr. put me on Zofran after she diagnosed me with HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarium), but even that does not always help. I was up last night puking my brains out until 1:30am and continued this morning again 3 times. The peek was when I got to down town and as I was approaching the intersection, I started puking again.
This is my second pregnancy since August of 2006 (I lost my first one at 4.5 months in December 2006) and I must say, when they say all pregnancies are different, they in fact are surely right! With my first baby, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was over 3 months because I have PCOS and I hadn't had a period in 2 years. I went in for an ovarian ultrasound, and my doctor found a baby.
Congrats on your pregnancy, little piggy! I'm a 2-time IVFer and just wanted to chime in and say that I don't believe bedrest / days of rest post transfer is actually necessary to get pregnant (my clinic has monitored the research and says there's no conclusive evidence that it makes a difference). But my philosophy is: it can't hurt, so if you can lie back and relax after the transfer, do it! On the other hand, if you can't for some reason, don't stress about it...
I didn't start increasing in weight until about 22 weeks. In fact, in the beginning of my pregnancy I lost about 5 pounds. My doctor said that you can take flintstones vitamins instead of prenatals but that you want to double the dose (so two a day). Unfortunently I have never tried a liquid vitamin.
Now, given that your endometrium is most definately not normal, I am sure they will follow you very closely for signs that the pregnancy is developing normally. The growth of the fetus, in particular, will be closely followed and you will be watched carefully for signs of preterm labor and/or placental abruption or abnormal placental implantation. It is a wonderful thing that you are seeing a high risk obstetrician.
My boy vs girl pregnancy has been polar opposite, my son I got sick in my 2nd trimester, I was always crampy, gained a ton of weight, very, very tired, this baby I haven't felt anything but heartburn! I agree with boy24, I don't think it means anything, all pregnancies are different, but mine were very opposite!
I am 27 almost 28 and I have Chiari 1 Malformation. I am also pregnant. This is my second pregnancy. With the first one I did not know I had Chiari. So i had a very rough pregnancy. I was sick the whole time, I couldnt eat, and I was leaking amniotic fluid. (sorry I can t spell.) They had to induce my labor and it was awful. But I had a healthy baby boy. I had my son naturaly and after he was born I got worse.
this is pretty intresting i just was on heparin for my last pregnancy and i delivered my daughter at 32 weeks...my water broke early and 3 days later she was born...she was in nicu for 15 days but today she is healthy and happy im not aware of any dangers to the baby while taking heparin...
I'm pretty sure I had a miscarriage (my 3rd) back in October and my cycles haven't been the same since. It was a very early pregnancy so docs think mother nature handled it for me. I've had 21, 23, 25 day cycles but some of them have lasted for weeks. So, for this one to suddenly get back on track seems strange. I spoke with the nurse at a new OB/GYN today. My last one said things to me like, "Well, you did this to yourself!
I was told my hgc levels were too high this early in my pregnancy so I'm either further along or its more than one baby!!! Omgggggg & I'm a FTM.
This is my 2nd pregnancy my first was a walk in the park & im 35 weeks with my second son and i have been sick since i found out i was pregnant .. I barley had any good days hospital alot for dehydration ... &at this point im ready for it to be over...
Is there anything I can do about that in early pregnancy? I haven't even had my first OB appt yet and I don't want to tell anyone at work until I'm 12-14 weeks. It's so weird, but I was feeling really emotional since around September and I remember crying for no reason and telling my mom "I'm so hormonal, I think my body is trying to tell me to have a baby!" Since I have been pregnant my emotions have been in check!
hi it's safe in pregnancy and I wss taking zofran and then switched t prevacid. worked great.. sorry for short reply...
8 weeks pregnant and could eat Raviolis though! The peron below me has lost more weight in their pregnancy then gained so far!
Since i'm in bed (so early on a Saturday... what life??), i think i'll probably be able to make it through the day without vomitting. we'll see what tomorrow brings. Monday i am back at work, and for some reason I do better at work (well, i did with my last pregnancy- maybe cause it's so busy?) Monday night I have my appointment and I may ask for Zofran again. It's not fun- but it is what I signed up for!
So I'm definitely in the throws of the first trimester! Currently I've got these symptoms: -Nausea (is there in the AM, but gets progressively worse throughout the day - especially on an empty stomach.
Even though the Dr told me it's safe I still don't want to abuse it. It's so early in my pregnancy and I'm sure once I'm farther along and my stomach is squashed I'm gonna have to take it every time I eat.
I've looked through your posts on this site and you're all over the place and I don't believe any of us here in the pregnancy community can help you.
Hi to all the mommies due in June, and Happy New Year. I would like to compare our progress. I am 17w today I have an appt. tomorrow 1/3. So far I have no symptoms and I feel great. I've been feeling movement now and then for 2 weeks and when I go a day without feeling him/her I go crazy. One question I have is if you are feeling movement where are you feeling it? Who is finding out and who has already found out? I find out the first week of Feb. patiently waiting.
If it was me I would talk to my treating doctor about this and I would also talk to my GYN doctor. In addition, I would do a pregnancy test just to be sure you are not pregnant. It is uncommon for women in their early 50s to get pregnant, but it does happen on occasion. I personally know 2 different people who were born when the mother was 52. The nausea: if it was me, I would get something for that nausea and dry heaves.
