I never stick a tampon in unless I have AF. Does yogurt help the yeast infection if you eat it instead? DH is buying me some vagisil(sp) on his way home. I have plenty of yogurt in the fridge.... will it help? This is the first yeast infection I've ever had. Its strange after TTC, I suddenly got a yeast infection. Heh.
basically, all processed foods have yeast(to fill you up), fast food has yeast, plus the normal yeast products like bread...check the labels and you'll see. the previous post that mentioned acidophilus was correct, but don't try garlic pills, just eat more garlic. you can go practically anywhere for acidophilus pills, make sure they have atleast 1 billion live organisms per tablet.
i feel so gross and dirty now because i think i either gave myself a bacterial infection or its a yeast infection that because of the amoxicillin or maybe its both? I have eaten yogurt yesterday and today and the smell seems a bit better than it was and the abdominal stuff has too. So bacterial infection from not showering or maybe his hands weren't clean? or yeast infection or what? and what should i do because i want this cleared up ASAP.
Not to mention there are a number of things that can cause yeast infections besides yeast containing products and nylon underwear. First, Antibiotics can cause them, fitted clothing (god knows I love mine), chemicals such as dyes, perfumes, douches (they wash away good and bad bacteria; which we need, surprising but yes we need both) and the spermicide on condoms (nonoxnoyl 9), spermicidial foams and creams. If you are allergic to latex then that could be an issue too.
Could the rash be a yeast infection or another kind of reaction to the medicine? His doctor is out of the office until Monday and I can have her called at home but I don't want to unless I have to and our emergency room sucks so I don't want to have to take him there.
I have never had a vaginal infection or been to the gyno, I now know that I should have gotten checked out for this. Anyway I thought it was a yeast infection. The same day that my partner had gone down on me, I cut myself pretty bad shaving down there. I read that damage to the membranes down there can cause a yeast infection, so I didn't worry too much. Within the next week or 2 I had one small cut in my vaginal fold.
A lot of women can't use the OTC vaginal yeast infection treatments because the cause irritation and frankly they don't just work as well as Diflucan. On the side note, increasing your yogurt intake to prevent yeast infections helps some, but it doesn't have that many live cultures in it. There used to be this product from the makers of Immodium - but i think manufactures have pulled it from the market because it didn't sell well.
Did anyone know that taking antibiotics for any kind of infection will sometimes give u a yeast infection. Did anyone know that yogurt with live active yeast cultures will help ease a yeast infection by directly putting plain yogurt on the genital area, where it will replace the natural bacteria that should be in the vagina but was killed off by antibiotics or bacteria killing antibodies found in the body. Did anyone know there are lots of reasons why a female will get yeast infections.
As soon as I began iron supplements and my levels increased the yeast infections went away. I haven't had one in appx 9 months. Yea! The yeast in my body was so bad I had yeast in my mouth. I didn't not know this could/is an indicator of anemia. terry PS Prior to that I was doing like you, diflucan, probiotics, anything I thought might help.
I've been having the same issues. It started about a little over a month ago with a bacterial & yeast infection. The yeast infection came back and the bumps are still there and red - they almost look like taste buds on your tongue - am I correct??? That's how mine look anyway. I called the dr again this morning and I go on monday for a biopsy and was told I probably need a stronger steroid to cure this.
I have been getting yeast infections about every other month now for the fast year and recently i had my pap and there were some "cell changes" so i went in for a colposcopy and they found CIN II . now could having hpv (without warts) cause or make my chances of getting yeast infections greater?
I know this sounds crazy but we discovered that if we both eat yogurt every day the yeast infections are non-existant. Completely gone! We also discovered something else interesting: My husband is asthmatic and his inhaler kills certain bacteria in his throat which apparently can occasionally cause a yeast infection in his throat. Eating the yogurt also took care of his sore throats!
if your ONLY symptom is redness, how can you be sure you have a yeast infection? if you are not ENTIRELY sure that you have a yeast infection, do not start treating it with a medicine like monistat. there is a chance you might not have a yeast infection, and if you try to use monistat you could completely mess up the pH in your vagina. until you're sure you have a yeast infection, go with something else.
I've had a yeast infection for over a year now. I've tried diflucan & terazol 7. It just won't go away. I don't have any discharge. Only burning & inflammation. My doc gave me terazol 7 again & I'm also taking yogurt pills every day. This is so frustrating. I never used to get yeast infections. This all started when I started taking hormone pills & hormone injections. Anyone have this problem?
I was diagnosed with a yeast infection on monday and immediately started my first of 2 pills of diflucan, I took the second on wed as directed by my doctor. It is now Sat and im still itchy, no discharge and no odor. Is it possible that I may need to take another round of the diflucan?? My Dr included 2 refills on my rx. In addition to the diflucan I have been eating cloves of garlic, taking acidopholis, and eating yogurt. Please help, as you all know the itch is unbearlable!!!
He took a look and thought that it could be a really bad case of yeast infection, but if it didn't go away with medication then it was a case of genital warts. He gave me some powerful antibiotics/anti-fungals for five consecutive courses of ten days. I'm about halfway through now, and some of the stuff that didn't start developing until later has gone away, but the bad stuff that showed up the next day is still there and not really responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, don't have sexual intercourse while there's an infection. Believe it or not, a yeast infection can be transferred back and forth between partners (men or women).
Quote taken from an herbal site: Dr.Greene.com "While active-culture yogurt has proven helpful in many areas, and seems to be helpful in many others, it appears to do nothing to combat vaginal yeast infections. It has been recommended both orally and topically, but when evaluated no benefit is found.41 Perhaps this is because the normal population of Lactobacillus continues to thrive in the vagina even during a yeast infection.
I think i had a yeast infection a few weeks ago. I left it untreated which i later found out was very bad. So the symptoms stopped occuring, only to later bring abdominal pains, bad smelling odour from my crotch, thick white discharge and bad headaches. So i took a canesten tablet, and that night i got EXTREMLY bad discharge t the point of it dripping down my leg as i was walking to the washroom. What do you think this is?
If you have a yeast infection like candida albicans, sugar will help it grow. Candida loves sugars and refined foods, coffee and alcohol. Also start taking all the vitamin B complex and vitamin A. If you have heavy metals in your body such as amalgam, candida will also consume these. Remove fillings if you have it and start taking low amounts of chlorella to absorbe the heavy metals.
Hi everyone, I'm starting to get worried about this persistent yeast infection and was hoping to get some information from anyone who has experienced the same as i. In the beginning of January i had to take amoxicillin for 1 week for my throat. The following weekend (Saturday to be precise) I had slightly rough intercourse with my boyfriend and was a bit sore and noticed a small tear on my labia minora.
I have never had yeast infections until now. A few months ago I thought I was having a reaction to the new pads I was using. My vagina was swollen and red, slightly itchy; no discharge the second day after my period started. After days of suffering, I went to the Dr. who said it probably was the pads. He said he didn't see any yeast but took a culture just to be sure. They called and said I had a VERY bad yeast infection. This time I started feeling similar to the last time.
I did some research, and thought that it was probably yeast infection. I bought tons of unflavored yogurt, took one everyday after breakfast, and applied some of it to my penis as suggested. Again, after a week, it goes away. Fast forward to 6 months later, which is now, I eat a lot of oysters during a party. I get diarrhea and I take antibiotics again. Hours later, it happens. Again on the exact same spot.

I was diagnosed with a fungal ear infection (tropical ear) today - I have had repeatedly dealt with 'swimmers ear' over the past 3 years, sometimes as often as 3 times per year. I have had severe pain in the affected ear, as well as pain in the temple on the affected side. Starting 2 days ago, the lymph node behind that ear (which has been swollen since Nov. 07) became extremely painful. It's like having cramps in the side of your neck at times. My ENT prescribed ZOTO-HC OTIC SOL.
The Dr. at the clinic I go to says that I probably have an infection in my nose that is the cause of re-infecting ... I have swabbed a special antibiotic in my nose for a number if days to try to kill it (Dr. even had my husband do it to, just incase It was somehow from him). That was about a year ago and I still get these things. Early on I would go longer before I took antibiotics but it would grow very fast and very painful.
ive never had any diseases or even a yeast infection but for the last week i can smell onion down there? What could be wrong?
You could simply have a male yeast infection, they are very common. Just relax and enjoy your day. We are here for you.
However, a lot of the time it doesn't actually take away the entire infection, it just soothes it and stops the symptoms making it appear like it's gone, but it will most likely come back at some point. Yeast infections are a very common side effect being on antibiotics. If you've had a yeast infection, but still continuing to have sex then that could make it appear like the infection is not clearing.
