why does my cat throw up after she eats

s meowing at me to feed her again. Sometimes she eats to the point of vomiting it all up. Why does she have this insatiable appetite?

Felinefun, thank you for the info. It's something to consider. She does still throw up ocassionally but not as much as she used to. She's also lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years but they said she didn't have Diabetes or any reason they could find except that she's just getting older. But thanks for sharing. He sometimes will throw up after eating his food if he doesnt chew it enough. Any way tonight I came home from work and he had throw at least 4 diff. times in diff spots. It is brown and liquid like and doesnt seem to have food mixed in with it. Also he usually hops in bed with me but has been sitting by the door to go outside which is unusual. I have also noticed a lump or pouch type thing in his lower abdomen which I made an apt. for at the vet to have checked.

ve learned to keep her a little bit hungry but not so much that she eats too fast when she eats again as both of these extremes cause her to get sick more. I know cats throw up but she seems to do it more than other cats I've had. She's laid back and doesn't seem psychologically damaged. Any ideas?

When my two cats were kittens, before I got them, one of them almost died (Hootie) She got better and then my husband brought both kittens home from the friend that had them then Sissy got sick and wasn't eating cat food and got really thin. I fed her what she would eat which was cheese and baby food. Anyway they are both well and healthy now. Hootie likes to try and suckle from my ear lobe which probably means she was weaned too soon.

I have had dogs do it before but it was only in the winter and they did not throw up after like the pup does. lol I will also be keeping my fingers crossed that he grows out of it!

Other than throwing up, she acts normally, she is eating and drinking normally. The throw up is a brown liquid and she usually throws up during the night as we find it when we get up in the mornings. There is no smell to the vomit. Is this something serious?

Hi, My 11 yo cat Greta Garbo (she is a grey street cat, normal weight, neutered) has recently been urinating in places other than her litter box. She does this very frequently now. Up until recently she has never done this before. Her diet is dried cat biscuits, she drinks and eats normally - though she does throw up if she eats a lot at once. We don't notice any change in her behaviour. Her weight hasn't noticeably changed.

I have a 13 year old tabby cat, whenever he eats anything he will throw it up within the next couple of mins. He does not like to eat out of his bowl and has to be hand fed for about a year now. Hello, My cat has been throwing up a brown very watery liquid for the past few days. He will go maybe a whole day and not throw up at all but then overnight we find that he's thrown up 4 or 5 times. He still drinks his water and eats his food and seems his normal self but i'm worried there might be something else wrong. She acts healthy otherwise. She does tend to throw up when I take her to the vet so I do think she gets a nervous stomach. We've been letting the puppies out in the living room more now and sometimes they chase her, which we try to control. Can someone help me figure this out and how I can help her tummy feel better?

My dog throws up often. She gets fed three times a day (40 lb dog, eats a total of about 1.5-2 cups per day). She's at what the vet called her "ideal weight" and she gets rave reviews on her health at her checkups. She has fantastic temperament and has regular stool (solid stool 80% or more of the time, goes every day, sometimes more than once) I'm just not sure what to do!

I have seen cats eat grass too. The dog I had before always threw up after he ate grass. Like you said (margypops) he would eat it when it was getting close to mealtime, when his stomach was empty. Then he'd throw up just the grass and a little mucus. My dog does this too. Nothing like a wet nose with cat litter stuck to it! We keep the cat food and water up on our washer/dryer so the dog can't eat it. Putting the litter up there won't work for us. I am thinking of getting some of that spray that keeps animals away from areas and putting it on the carpet outside our upstairs bathroom where I keep the litter - as long as it doesn't stop the cats from going in!

If there is food in her bowl, she will gorge herself until it is gone and then proceed to go into my room and throw her 1/2 digested food up on my ivory carpet.
