My four-year-old grandson, who has leukemia, was just diagnosed with the flu despite having the shot this year. I also had the shot prior to my diagnosis. Obviously it doesn't cover strain B, which is what he has. My husband and I kept him until this morning so we have been exposed big time. Does anyone know about Tamiflu and whether or not it should be taken with HCV. My guess is it's okay, but my hepa will not respond to any of my questions, so I'm asking here.

I would call and talk to the doctor about it and tell them that you are worried and what do they think you should do? I would try to stay calm. Worry can cause more problems than the initial situation. I still feel there has been too much drama associated with the swine flu. I don't the media has been very truthful on a lot of it.

I haven't gotten a flu shot this year. So far, I've been really lucky, but I keep hearing about how it's not over yet. Is it too late to get a flu shot for it to be effective this year?

For the last four days I been having flu like symtoms (fever, night sweats, body aches) , seen the dr. and he perscribed TAMIFLU. In what time frame would someone infected see symptoms if any at all? 2. Would you suggest testing and if so what test would be the correct test at 9 weeks. Would TAMIFLU affect the result?

and, broadly speaking, if the glands in the throat are inflamed does it mean the infection is in the throat/face and inflamed glands in your groin means the genitals are infected? i don't want to infect anyone else obviously (as kissing and skin touching can transmit) but i also don't want to have an embarrassing conversation with a 'kinda regularish' partner i don't need to have. thanks for your reply btw! sorry for so many questions. just a bit worried is all.

Mainly for prevention i was exposed to three different people who had it but I started showing some symptoms it just makes me nervous I've been uncomfortable since yesterday a lot of stretching feelings and some mild cramps.

Tamiflu is completely safe for pregnant mama's. I'm a pharmacy assistant, a dispensary assistant and used to be a medical receptionist and a practice manager. So I'm partially aware of what's safe and whats not (obviously not as advanced as doctors and pharmacists) but it is most definitely safe to take. It's generally used for Influenza though not just a common cold.

There ia nothing you can really take but what worked for waa tylenol 2 pills 100mg and it really did help somewhat..

and some cases of gastroenteritis as the virus moves to the GI tract. it is only dangerous to the very young and the elderly and those with insufficient immune system and by the way were up to 14 cases i believe here in the US...
