trileptal

Hello I just started taking effexor xr with my adderall and trileptal! After reading the comments here on this site i feel like I want to stop taking the effexor before i get any more of it into my system. I called to see if I could take these meds together and i was told that you shouldn't take any thing like effexor ect.. with adderall cause it will cause problems. also i don't want to gain any weight.
I was given an on-site drug screen earlier this week and somehow came back positive for pcp. I have never touched this drug in my life. How is this possible? I take effexor xr, trileptal, and risperdal daily, could these medications have any effect on the test results?
I've been taking Trileptal 300mg and Lexapro 10mg for over six years now and I did well for a while but about seven months ago started loosing my grip on the situation again. Please reply!
i am now fifty four and take 1600mgs tegretol,160mgs phenobarbitol 300mgs effexorxr for depression and 3mgs xanex-xr. i've recently swithched to generic tegretol and feel a bit funny. my memory and reflexes are much poorer and i feel more fatigued.
Yesterday I lowered Trileptal to 150mg, and raised Zonegran to 100mg. I'm REALLY lucky, because even on this low a dose I haven't had any seizures. I'm in the process of raising Zonegran, but don't want to go too quickly. I'll probably leave it where it's at for a couple days. Today I added B Complex (50mg of basically everything), and restarted Acetyl-L-Carnitine at a lower dose, (250mg instead of 500mg). I'll start taking Alpha Lipoic Acid later this week, (100mg).
He has taken me off of my Aderall xr 30mg and put me on Vyvanse 70mg, and put me on 600mg of Trileptal twice a day. My question is I feel even more fatigued than i have in my entire life. It has started to effect my work a little bit, and my wife seems to be upset that I'm not spending as much time with her because of my sleeping. I have brought this up to him before and he said that we need to stay the path that we are on. I really don't know what to do.

If I were you, though—and I base this on personal experience—I would try either Keppra or Keppra XR, Tegretol, or Trileptal. These medications, on a moderate dose, are not too bad in terms of side effects. But again, everyone is different, and it is all just trial and error, really. Usually, with these medications, an “appropriate level,” or a level that works for you, is just based on side effects, level of the med in the blood, and of course seizure control.
You might want to ask your psychiatrist about Trileptal which is basically clinically the same as Tegretol but because it has far less of a potential to cause the specific side effect that the Tegretol requires blood monitoring for, generally doesn't require blood tests and also in having less of a potential to cause that side effect is safer in general. You could speak to them about that option.
My son was never diagnosed by any one of having ADHD but his Dr. prescribed Adderall XR after getting results to a paper questioneer that was filled out by his teachers and he had taken a battery of tests at his school that seemed to determine if he needed to placed in special classes -- which they did prove he needed, however the school never tested our son for ADHD nor did his Dr..
She then tried Lamictal which made her feel terrible. Awful stomach pains. Now she is on Keppra XR and still on Trileptal as well. Working through side effects.
I really didn't have a problem with lexapro the thing is that I was gaining a lot of weight and it made me so sleepy all day long like really sleepy, now I have to be fair and say that the sleepiness could be the combo lexapro and trileptal (mood stabilizer) I was put on trileptal 4 months ago when I started sub then 3 months ago lexapro and since then I gained 15 pounds I know is not the meds fault is my mouth that puts the food but still my doctor says it could be
Before the end of 2008 I was taking Clonazepam, (1mg three times a day) Effexor XR (75 mgs 3 of them every morning) Trileptal (cannot remember dosage, but i took two in the morning and three in the evening) Seroquel (200mg once at night) and my birth control yasmin. This combination of medicine worked EXCELLENTLY after almost 10 years of testing out medications and was able to function MUCH better than ever in my lifetime. Mainly the addition of seroquel and trileptal.
I am taking 400mg of tegretol xr. it has stopped the pain of a knife being stuck in my ear drum and my eye, but my jaw still aches so hard it feels like it will bust my teeth, and the roof of my mouth and the fronts of my lips burn like heck! these episodes have been lasting 1-4 hours....truly unbearable! Any ideas of pain control please let me know....i am taking Motrin during the day and vicodin at night...
My son is 19 years old and has Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, he's on Keppra XR, Clonazepam, and Banzel. There's a chance lamital will be added. Is this too many meds. I have heard 2 or 3 meds at one time, no more. What affect does the drugs have on LGS?
My daughter is taking 225 mg of effexor xr for the last 8 months. Before that, she was taking 150 mg for 5 years. She is 24. She tried to quit a year ago, when taking 150 mg, but the side effects terrified her and she is now in denial and would rather succumb to taking this horrid drug for the rest of her life. She has given up. This is a tragedy, and one that the drug company needs to address. A class action law suit is fine, but that does not solve the problem of getting off of this drug.
THIOS WAS MY 2ND DRUG SINCE I BEEN BP..I HAVENT HAD NOT ONE SIDE AFFECT...AND IT MADE YOU SICK.why dont you ask him for the 200mg xr,s of serquil they work 24 hrs time released..or you can start off at 100mgs at bedtime then everyday you go up till you get to 600mgs..if you have any sleeping problems you wont with this..once you sleep ur 8 hrs its in you but the sleep part is gone...to me lithium and serquil are brother and sister...but lithium dont sedate you like serquil does..
I know they can handle themselves, but I feel as if I am the protector. The medication I take is Trileptal 150mg and Seroquel 50mg. I have no problems with the Trileptal its the seroquel I dont want to take because of the groggy, zombie rush me into sleep feeling.
5mgs of Klonopin. I have Xanax XR as a PRN and had too take that, along with 5 melatonin and 3 Benadrtyl to sleep last night; ridiculous...I still have a bunch of Xanax XR floating around in my system and it's not putting a dent into the mania. Over the past two weeks, my psychiatrist and I have tried Lithium (became very agitated) and Seroquel (made the cycling far worse). We thought about Zyprexa, but it works in the same manner as Seroquel.
I had the same thing happen to me all these years I thought I knew what anxiety and panic attacks felt like but I apparently did not till I felt the way you did I kept telling my husband I could not swallow or breath I felt like I was going to die if I couldn't get my self to breath I was so scared I am 41 now and have suffered from depression but now I also suffer from anxiety and have bi polar 1 my doctor put me on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg and Trileptal 600 mlg, 3 times a day.
--cronic pain, sleep disturbance, headaches, fatigue, weight gain of 80lbs (cannot get around very well dur to leg)-- I was changed to Effexor xr because i was emotionally numb w/Zoloft). After being on the Efx. for about 4 weeks, i started having BAD nightmares. (waking up screaming, talking,or fighting every night several times a night) I called my doc and was taken off of the Efx over a period of i week. Over next 4 days had bad mood swings.
However, he said after six weeks if the St. John's wort doesn't work, then he wants to put me on Effexor XR. Here's my real question that I want answered. I want to taper off (and he agrees) the clonazepam (klonopin) for which I've been on for 1 1/2 months at .5mg 3 times per day. How would your recommend I do this, since I haven't been on it for "years or months" like others who have trouble coming off of benzodiazapines.
I've been on 200mgs of the XR version at night for the past few days and it has actually increased my cycling. I'm back to my normal cycling mode; when the sun is out I become agitated, when it's overcast I fall into a deep depression. All of the medications that have any sort of effect on dopamine does this to me. I am basically back at square one with the meds. Zyprexa won't be a good idea because it has the same affinity for dopamine that Seroquel does.
I've been taking it 3 day's now , with the Lithium and Seroquel Xr ( which i'm slowly reducing ) comming off , i'm feeling great , my paranoia is almost gone ,my auditory hallucination's are as good as silenced ,my messed up thinking (Delusions ) are nowhere near as bad ,and i feel that my mood's are stabilizing , i have energy i can do stuff again like leave my house without thinking i'm gonna get shot by a sniper :/ , and my mind seem's to be clearer , I just hope this isn't to good to be tru
mania (which has dramatically decreased since taking Lamictal) and sleep (trileptal). My depression though, is still there at times and it can be pretty unbearable. I am looking forward to this medication and I do have a feeling as you stated before that I will not have to worry too much about the weight gain because I am practicing more self control and discipline with my eating habits, so I am becoming a lot more aware of when I am really hungry or not.
Hello I take Seroquel XR and needed a side effect drug as I was getting sudden movements, twitches and tensing calves, my pdoc said that out of all the anti psychotics that Seroquel was one of the least likely to cause these side effects but I still got them. I have noticed when my dose has been lowered or when I forget to take it I feel a generalised ache all over my body.
I was on Effexor XR for a few years, for what I thought, and was told by my prior Psych was Depression (apparently not), along with either Xannax or Ativan for Panic Disorder which I also have. I have a question about Bipolar Meds. Currently I am taking Welbutrin XL 150 mg a day, Lexapro 10 mg a day, Seroquel 50-100 mg a night, and also Klonopin 1 mg in the day and 1 mg at night.
As I'm also on Abilify, Lamictal, and Effexor XR and have a very hard time losing any of the weight I really need to lose, I talked to her about it, and she ended up giving me a script for Metflorpen. It's a med that's technically for pre-diabetics, but is often given to people dealing with *severe* weight gain from side effects. It changes how the body uses the calories that we eat. I would definitely as your doc about the weight gain, and ask what they would recommend.
Depakote, Imitrex, Topomax, Indomethacin, Trileptal, Clonazepam, Prochlorperazine, Lexapro, Klor-Con ER, Celebrex, Zoloft, Paxil, Cyclobenzaprine, Effexor XR, Alprazolam, Xanax, Flexeril, Keppra, Reglan, Metoclopramide, Diazepam, Adavan, Demerol, Morphine... It is important for me to explain that many of these medications were prescribed to counter-act the side affects of the primary medications.
If you want to avoid sleepiness take the XR variant which does not have that side effect - I take 900mg - 800 XR and 100 SR for sleep and it works so very well. The worst for eight gain is Zyprexa BTW.
