ve been taking Trileptal 300mg and Lexapro 10mg for over six years now and I did well for a while but about seven months ago started loosing my grip on the situation again. Please reply!

i've had epilepsy since the age of four. i am now fifty four and take 1600mgs tegretol,160mgs phenobarbitol 300mgs effexorxr for depression and 3mgs xanex-xr. i've recently swithched to generic tegretol and feel a bit funny. my memory and reflexes are much poorer and i feel more fatigued.

He has taken me off of my Aderall xr 30mg and put me on Vyvanse 70mg, and put me on 600mg of Trileptal twice a day. My question is I feel even more fatigued than i have in my entire life. It has started to effect my work a little bit, and my wife seems to be upset that I'm not spending as much time with her because of my sleeping. I have brought this up to him before and he said that we need to stay the path that we are on. I really don't know what to do.

You might want to ask your psychiatrist about Trileptal which is basically clinically the same as Tegretol but because it has far less of a potential to cause the specific side effect that the Tegretol requires blood monitoring for, generally doesn't require blood tests and also in having less of a potential to cause that side effect is safer in general. You could speak to them about that option.

Awful stomach pains. Now she is on Keppra XR and still on Trileptal as well. Working through side effects.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.

t have a problem with lexapro the thing is that I was gaining a lot of weight and it made me so sleepy all day long like really sleepy, now I have to be fair and say that the sleepiness could be the combo lexapro and trileptal (mood stabilizer) I was put on trileptal 4 months ago when I started sub then 3 months ago lexapro and since then I gained 15 pounds I know is not the meds fault is my mouth that puts the food but still my doctor says it could be

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?

My daughter is taking 225 mg of effexor xr for the last 8 months. Before that, she was taking 150 mg for 5 years. She is 24. She tried to quit a year ago, when taking 150 mg, but the side effects terrified her and she is now in denial and would rather succumb to taking this horrid drug for the rest of her life. She has given up. This is a tragedy, and one that the drug company needs to address. A class action law suit is fine, but that does not solve the problem of getting off of this drug.

DOES ANY ONE TAKE TRILEPTAL FOR BIPOLAR ??? IF SO HOW MUCH AND FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING IT??

I know they can handle themselves, but I feel as if I am the protector. The medication I take is Trileptal 150mg and Seroquel 50mg. I have no problems with the Trileptal its the seroquel I dont want to take because of the groggy, zombie rush me into sleep feeling.

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

I've been taking these two for 2 months. 1800 mg trileptal 10 mg abilify. i'm doing a lot better (rages getting under control, manic moods lowered) but i'm still so depressed. my irritability is still off the charts. do you think adding another med will be the most likely next step or will my doc just keep raising my dosages?

I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.

I think Geodon is for BP patients who have equal mania and depression or more on the manic side (as opposed to Lamictal which is used for greater depressive BP). Trileptal is very similar to Tegretol - in fact, I think they are the same molecule but varied somewhat. I've read a statement from a Psychiatrist that Tegretol is always more successful for them than Trileptal is. Go to Bipolarworld - the Dr. in charge of that wrote a abstract of his experience using Tegretol vs Trileptal for BP.

I'm wondering if anyone else has numb fingertips as a side effect from Trileptal...I am currently taking 600 mg. I'm also being worked up for MS, so I don't know if this is from the drug I take for TN or from some other cause?? Thanks.

t have epilepsy, but my questions is what happens to you possible long term effects from taking it;s medication. I had a Shoppers Drug Mart give me Trileptal 300mg instead of my medication. My memory had changed some what and don't know if it's from it or not. No one has an aswer to why I am still living after taking those meds? For 5 days I had to put up with barely keeping my eyes open and my husband couldn't wake me for two hours?

To take this test my doctor weened me off Trileptal over a three week period. After off the drug for a couple weeks my symptoms returned - full force. Now after two weeks back on, I'm feeling much better. Any ideas?

I am taking 400mg of tegretol xr. it has stopped the pain of a knife being stuck in my ear drum and my eye, but my jaw still aches so hard it feels like it will bust my teeth, and the roof of my mouth and the fronts of my lips burn like heck! these episodes have been lasting 1-4 hours....truly unbearable! Any ideas of pain control please let me know....i am taking Motrin during the day and vicodin at night...
