Avatar m tn Gizmo I just wanted to say I tapered from 200mgs. I can't give taper advice on here but you can taper slower than taking it to 1/2 of a pill. You can cut the 1/2 pill. Anyway PM me if you would like. I tapered successfully and I had EXTREME fatique, RLS,anxiety, hot and cold sweats and chills, and depression, I did not vomit at all, so I can't comment on that.
Avatar n tn Try this link: http://www.medhelp.org/personal_pages/user/544292 That is "Emily's Journal," and you will find a lot of information about dealing with tramadol addiction (it's up to about chapter 40 by now).
Avatar m tn I would suggest you re-post this in the Addiction: Substance Abuse forum as it is pretty active and you will find many people knowledgable about tramadol and much, much support. Or, you can also find EmilyPost's continuing journal on ultram/tramadol withdrawal. I am a recovering addict but tramadol was not my drug of choice.
9704730 tn?1405741284 Congrats on your 1 month off of Tramadol. That, is a huge accomplishment. Withdrawal from Tramadol is a difficult and long process. Hang in there. Hopefully, you will start feeling better soon. Make sure you are staying very hydrated, taking vitamins and supplements, and if at all possible get outside for some mild exercise. Even short walks outside will help. For me during withdrawals, the more I sat or layed around, the worse I felt.
Avatar f tn Well, you've definitely come to the right place. The best advice I can give you about getting off of tramadol (I'm over 150 days off of tramadol) is to get as much information as you can about the drug you are on and the various ways to get off of it. And a good place to start for this is going to a thread titled "EmilyPosts Day 45 Again Cold Turkey Tramadol Withdrawal". If you google "tramadol withdrawal" this will be one of many links to choose from.
Avatar m tn My names is Brian and I need a forum for my tramadol addiction. I have taken tramadol for 4 years now and I have finally decided it's time to move on. I am slowly trying to kick it. I'm about four days in (since I made the decision) and I am down to taking 2 to 3 a day (up from about 8 to 10 a day). I'm starting to get jitters and I am having difficulty trying to focus. I also feel like my head is spinning.
9704730 tn?1405741284 I will be working with the doctor who helped me in accordance with the doctor who had me on tramadol for 13 years to compile a journal of symptoms/duration of withdrawal in the hopes to enlighten those that still believe tramadol does not have a down side. There are still many doctors who believe that it is not addictive or even physically depending. Anyone who would like to share their imput on tramadol withdrawal so I can pass it along please message me.
544292 tn?1268882668 I need more! More information! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_bad_is_Tramadol_withdrawal Question - How bad is Tramadol WIthdrawal? Answer - Ultram (Tramadol) Withdrawal Tramadol is highly addictive. Normally your doctor would reduce intake slowly. 983592 tn?1249762935 Good luck you can do it, i was on trammies for over a year and honestly i think tramadol withdrawal has a more severe Mental WIthdrawal i would just scream with anger and cry and cry and cry when i tied Detox in a rehab and cold turkey. At the end i was taking 300-450mg at least twice daily. I believe they are EVIL (lol) i was always under the assumption that they were perfectly safe as in non addictive boy was i wrong! Stay stong getting through it will make u stroner!
1063254 tn?1259018398 Oh yeah. The short version is I was prescribed for many years for inflamed nerves. I never took over the prescribed dose but after a while, it turned on me & I had regular withdrawal symptoms of insomnia, weakness & rebound pain while I was still on my prescribed dose. It was a nightmare to get off. Tramadol contains an anti-depressant which probably enhances your desire to take more & also often leads to bad depression in withdrawal.
Avatar m tn My doctor doesn’t think it will still be the tramadol as she thinks the withdrawal will have gone by now. I think it is the Tramadol. Do you think it might still be the tramadol 45 to 50 days after stopping (cold turky from 400 to 500 mg daily) making me feel very uneasy and panicky?
1997347 tn?1327248561 s journal on tramadol. With journals other members may comment. I would recommend commenting on her journal and she will help you out. She is a huge help when it comes to tramadol! It will also introduce you to others who were or are hooked on tramadol. http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/335374/Tramadol--Ultram-Recovery-Room-Part-51?personal_page_id=142 Like mentioned above, continue posting. There is so much help here! Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn Hon, you need to post more information. How long and how many were you taking? You would feel anxiety,if you stopped for 4 days and were using for a shorter time and a smaller amount. This may be the beginning of a problem. When you get fully addicted, which doesn't take long, you will feel alot more symptoms. Anxiety alone will seem like a walk in the park. Do you take them for pain issues? Are you looking to stop.
Avatar f tn and after 21 days I only now have a feeling that I am NOT going to die and that I am going to get my life back. Ultram/tramadol withdrawal is hellish. I really feel for you. The Thomas detox REALLY helped me out. I have writen alot about Ultram/Tramadol in my journal and the process of withdrawing and getting OUT. It ***** that a Doctor would tell us that it was"safe" and "No withdrawal" when in fact it is extremely dangerous.
Avatar f tn but whether I was lucky or not I never had an issue with serotonin syndrome and I felt like maybe the ssri I was taking helped when I stopped the tramadol....withdrawal still was awful but maybe I felt a little stronger this time...idk...but then I had to stop the ssri and that was another withdrawal.... but if you plan on staying on the cymbalta for pain then I guess that second withdrawal wont happen to you I would try to wean down on tramadol first if you cant get off completely.
Avatar m tn I tried once before to stop Lortabs with Trams, and I have to tell you, the withdrawal of the "non narcotic (from my dr's mouth)_ tramadol is FAR more severe than any Lortab or Vicodin withdrawal. It kicked my arse worse than anything. I would suggest a taper, and also the Thomas Recipe. It has been a saviour to me and my journey to get to where I am now. I am at 8 per day, and I truly didn't think I could ever drop below at LEAST 25 per day.
1647482 tn?1301333972 I could relate to everything she wrote and all of the information I found on her journal was so so helpful to me. I learned so much about this poison (tramadol) and what to expect along the way, and found that knowledge to be HUGE for me during recovery - maybe that might help you as well? And the bonus there is it gave me something to read on those nights when I wasn't sleeping - let me know if you want to check it out and I'll lead you there.
Avatar n tn I know noone will have a exact answer on this....i have been addicted to tramadol or ultram for about 7 months now. It was for pain but im ot gonna lie, as soon as i found out how good the high was i loved it . I started with no more then 3 a day to taking about 20. It is now Sunday and i have stopped fully on thursday. i took one in the morning and one at night which did not help anything anyways. This withdrawal **** i cant stand. I dont feel connected to my body if that makes any sense?
569458 tn?1221392419 Tramadol is an awful, awful drug. I had to go on Subutex just to get off it. How many were you taking. Five days off is something to be proud of and the worst should be behind you. Although the mental stuff is hard to handle and you may want to go on an antidepresant to help with that. Keep up the good work!!
Avatar m tn t know the spelling but it is the ingredient in regular over counter tylenol times 3 plus Tramadol. The main ingredient in Ultram is Tramadol but there is a difference. When you are prescribed straight Tram it is w/out the tylenol. Apparently when taken together (Ultram prescription) the tramadol works faster and longer. It becomes more potent when you mix the two. It speeds up the tramadol effect if you will.
Avatar f tn If you can get some hydroxizine, it helps a lot with the rls, the having to stretch all the time, as well as that just feeling like crap. It is unfortunately rx only, but easy to get. It is used for itching and to take the edge off. It was given to me after a bad reaction to steroid injections in the spine. Little did I know it would help save my life. It is not addictive. Good luck.
