1909342 tn?1321993880 I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much? What would be appropriate here and how much would be 'healthy'?
Avatar n tn It has the potential for addiction because it affects neurotransmitters like seratonin and norepinepherine like other opiates. Tramadol usually has Tylenol or Ibuprofen in it an a adjunct pain reliever. What else have you tried for back pain? Tylenol and Ibuprofen are unfortunately overlooked. I would always try them first. They can be taken together safely. Ibuprofen is not recommended for long term use for people with kidney or stomach problems.
Avatar f tn Usually the doctor will tell you not to take any opiates 8 or so hours before your injection if they are also injecting you with something like fentanyl along with the steroid. Tramadol is technically an opioid, although synthetic, it is still considered a narcotic. Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
Avatar n tn i am to take 2 tramadol twice daily or as needed along with 800 mg ibuprofen twice daily. i have not found any resolve with this medication (i have been on it 2 weeks). i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation. i have had 2 diagnosises and both times the prognosis was long term chronic pain. i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal.
Business man2 Hydrocodone only comes with either acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Tramadol is another medication that I use with my patients that is of equal effectiveness but does come without the other medications. However, some patients will experience nausea with tramadol. Good luck!
768044 tn?1294223436 Mine doesn't always work perfectly, but I want to hang onto it for as long as I can. I typically use ice & take ibuprofen or tylenol (sometimes with 4 low dose aspirin with the two extra strength tylenol) and phenergan.
494623 tn?1278279352 I have recently been Prescribed Tramadol ( Zydol ) 50mg for Chronic Arthritic pain I wondered if anyone could tell me if I can take Paraceatamol or Ibuprofen at the same time ....... I am currently only taking 50mg of Tramadol every 4 hours but it isn't really doing much by itself for the pain.
626605 tn?1302520471 Tramadol is not supposed to be taken by those with previous opiate dependency. And yes, it is way worse to quit than most opiates. I would avoid it. You didn't say why you were prescribed? If it is for pain, Ibuprofen 600mg works almost as well. I do this with a muscle relaxer (Zanaflex) when my back hurts and tightens up.
699217 tn?1323438700 I'll do my best..... Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab.
996658 tn?1249675169 Please be extremely careful with the Tramadol. I used it for perhaps a year AS PRESCRIBED, and because I was still reporting pain, my doctor moved me up to Vicodin. I had a very tough time adjusting to doing without the Tramadol. I know the drug has effects on the brain chemicals similar to SSRIs - it made me feel GREAT! Not "high", just very, very good. Any doctor who tells you that it is non-addictive should speak to a pharmacist.
Avatar f tn I have lost the central vision in my left eye from wet macular degeneration and was diagnosed with the same condition in my right eye 3 months ago. First diagnosed at 50 and am now 55 years old. I did have Lucentis injections in the left eye for 3 years and have started the same treatment in my right eye. Due to the vision distortions and depth perception problems I have taken several falls this past year. Yesterday was the latest fall and today I'm in bad shape.
Avatar m tn hi and welcome. I agree with Hector i wouldnt take tramadol unless pain was severe they are a ***** to come off if using for a long time. I was on them twice both times for 6/7 mth while waiting for carpul tunnel in both hands been a chef i found they were the only thing that worked well enough for me to continue my work as a chef and the sx of coming off them was not pleasent.
Avatar f tn ve been there with an infected root ( well, a couple of them ) and apart from the antibiotics, ibuprofen worked wonderful.- good luck !
Avatar f tn I was given flexeril and tramadol for muscle spasms due to herniated discs. The tramadol did nothing for the pain, I was able to receive some relief from motrin instead. I can't take stronger opioids because they make me nauseous. Morphine doesn't work for me either. Are the two medications related?
Avatar m tn It is safe to take the tramadol along with the percocet but BE WARNED they are VERY addictive and it takes only weeks of daily use for ur body to become dependent on the drug! Withdrawal from tramadol is like nothing else in the world so PLEASE BE CAREFUL but if u only use it a couple times a week during your healing time u should not have any issues with physical dependency.
Avatar f tn Well I had an appointment with the dds that I had been puttin off so I went and had a tooth pulled but I told the doc about my oxy habbit and he was shocked that I admitted it to him but pleased that I did we went the non narc route. For Tramhater he offered me tramadol and almost slapped him.........
Avatar f tn (10-15 a day). I have a script for 15-50mg tramadol. Should I use the tramadol to help ease the lortab comedown? Will it even help? Or should I go cold turkey? I've read other posts about tramadol, and don't know which way to go. I do know I want my life back, and I can't afford the down time of the painful withdrawls I get. Experienced advice would be greatly helpful.
Avatar f tn I think you need to find a rheummy who will treat you with more than tramadol to get your condition(s) under control again.
402205 tn?1230481005 I don't post a lot anymore and rarely ask questions but I am confused and need help. I had xrays taken of my lower back and they showed advanced arthritis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and spina bifida occulta s1. My dr wants me to rest for 4 weeks and wants me to aly of the ibuprofen, she would give me something else. I stupidly assumed it would be Naprosyn or something. She gave me Ultram. And Flereril. I didn't realize until after I got to the pharmacy as she faxes them over.
Avatar m tn I've been taking tramadol for a few months for pain and it's already showing it's addictive qualities. Therefore, I'm getting off it and trying something else. It took about a month to start to notice the addiction part (take more now, sooner and sooner or you'll feel crappy till you do...). It then took about 4-5 days to get over the withdrawals after tapering down.
439522 tn?1214951189 Hi, I am addicted to tramadol, today is 21 days clean. The tramadol binds with the opiate receptors just like an opiate. It also has an antidepressant effect andf is VERY dangerous and addictive, If @ all possible I would try to stick to ibuprofen or advil for pain and see how that works because as you come off of pain killers your body will tell you that the pain is greater than it really is. Just another way your body gets you to feed the addict in you. Good luck and God bless.
Avatar f tn Gday is there anyone in Australia on these forums having trouble with tramadol...I am in Queensland..
1230912 tn?1273492770 The script is for 500mg and I looked it up yesterday to see that it was just Aleve in presciption form which is why I am dumbfounded since I was on 800mg of ibuprofen. I do have better luck with presciption drugs compared to OTC because Advil does nothing compared to my precription ibuprofen. I just wish we could have started on the preventatives instead of the anti-inflammatory which we know does nothing. Plus the traMadol which I am already on, duh!
