1909342 tn?1321993880 I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much? What would be appropriate here and how much would be 'healthy'?
Avatar n tn So since yesterday, my GP replaced the Co-codamol with Tramadol (50mg) and Paracetamol (500mg) to take regularly (at least 3 times a day, more if needed) and so far the pain seems slightly better (not great but better!). Above is just my own experience and not a medical advice for anyone to follow! Please talk to your doctor or Pharmacist first.
Avatar n tn btw, i'm in england.
Avatar f tn Yeah in the uk, I'm not sure oxycontins what they easily give. In France, you're talking codeine or tramadol. Tramadol doesn't o a lot for me, and when I used to be on Effexor, I ODed so never touched both at same time again ( serotonin syndrome thing) ...I don't bother with paracetamol. Ibuprofen and aspirin hav given me stomach ulcers. Only codeine does the job. But it's addictive. What's OxyContin exactly?
Avatar f tn Have you discussed this with your doctor?
7874959 tn?1395945321 I refused spine injections, and I do not like taking strong painkillers. I take paracetamol and try to keep supple. I have always liked walking, but lately I cann ot even do that comfortably. Been crying today with the pain. I have bought several books about Arthritis, and they advocate certain exercises and taking cod liver oil, and having a good diet. Like you say, losing weight also helps. Yes sitting for long is the most painful as it compresses our spine.
7758733 tn?1402589420 Killer headaches, and never any Tylenol around. Ibuprofen can't be that bad huh? Got to go to work and this headache must go.
1534233 tn?1523388856 The top of my left shoulder is quite painful to the touch. I've tried ibuprofen tablets and gel, also paracetamol and codeine tablets. I've previously had some worries about chest pain being angina although all tests for this are negative. The pain goes into my neck a bit when I press my shoulder, I'm fairly happy this pain is not heart related. But wonder what I can do to treat it.
Avatar f tn Presently seeing Neurologist, Drs said MRI head Normal for age 44, I will read up on Muscular dystrophy, I was taken tramadol for the severe pain but now have stopped on paracetamol and ibuprofen although pain returning difficulty in sitting for very long due to the discomfort in my leg.
Avatar f tn He was feeling alright the whole day, until now, (11pm the next day). Gave him paracetamol 500mg with tramadol 50mg and rubbed the ointment around his chest area but he still couldn't sleep and couldn't move much because of the pain. I have no experience with chest pain before and not sure what else to do to help ease his pain. Please advice. It's really worrying me to see him in so much pain - even after 2 visits to the hospital.
Avatar f tn Hi. I take it you've not tried plain old paracetamol + ibuprofen to see of that'll help? If you have a history of addiction it's not 100% safe to have what can be an addictive med. However it MUST NOT be taken with alcohol so if you do take tramadol and it helps the pain and you don't drink then that's great. But if you slip up then you must stop and find another way for the pain.
Avatar f tn I have been on the following for around 8 months which was prescribed to me by my doctor. 8 codipar a day (2 tabs - 4 times a day, 500 mg paracetamol and 30 mg codeine) also I a taking 8 tramadol a day 50mg tabs 2 tabs 4 times a day. I had a phone call from another doctor at my practice saying that I should not be taking both co diaper and tramadol together as they are both opiates. How should I best reduce the dose? And is it correct I should not take them both?
Avatar f tn t working, there is something else that is regularly given to addicts for up to five days, called Tramadol, and in conjunction with Paracetamol. Maybe this could be the answer for your pain? Eugenol (oil of cloves) in some form is usually used by the dentist. Here's a website that contains useful info on treating your dry socket. I'm sure you're dentist has given you a topical to treat your dry socket, and if not, you can ask him about Eugenol, for home use.
Avatar f tn Studies have demonstrated that at certain dosages, ibuprofen can stress the liver and elevate liver enzymes in people with Hepatitis C. Ibuprofen must be used with extreme caution in the later stages of liver disease and for those on interferon therapy. 3. Aspirin – (Bayer, Anacin, Excedrin and others) reduces fever, relieves pain, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and blood thinner.
Avatar m tn This is because taking too much can cause serious problems. With tramadol and co-codamol ( paracetamol with codeine), these are often used to relieve painful conditions where paracetamol alone is not sufficient, such as for muscular pain or nerve pain. The presence of side effects will depend on the dosage and time you took the medicines. Take care and regards.
1830782 tn?1318496076 t get my head out of a fog and felt dizzy and sick. Took 1/2 a pill a week later and had similar although lighter symptoms and now have it down to 1/4 of a tablet. How is that helping? Don't think it is. Probably won't ask for it again. It was suggested to go along with the Volteran but will just put up with the pain.
Avatar f tn By the 3rd episode, I could hardly breathe and I started to feel hot, and was sweating and vomitting. The 4th episode occured 2 weeks later, and I was admitted into the emergency department. The doctors did a blood test and an ultrasound, but the results were inconclusive. I then followed up with another ultrasound, MRI (focusing on the bilary tract), and more blood tests. Again the doctors could not find anything. They couldn't see any gallstones in the bilary tract or anywhere else.
Avatar f tn [28] However, paracetamol does not help reduce inflammation, while aspirin does.[31] Compared to ibuprofen—whose side effects may include diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain—paracetamol has fewer adverse gastrointestinal effects.[32] Paracetamol is generally believed to be safe for use in pregnancy[33] as it does not affect the closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus as NSAIDs can.
Avatar f tn No you cant take ibuprofen you can paracetamol omand codeine
1323278 tn?1298122488 I was just today at my dr and asked if I might be getting rebound headaches from taking too much, but due to other things going on and my age and gender, he was more inclined to think it was menopause-related. GUess that's off your list though! I don't know if taking advil daily warrants an actual visit on its own, but I would defintaly bring it up next scheduled visit - UNLESS there is a dramatic change in the headache behaviour prior to then.. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I agree...no ibuprofen. I am allergic to paracetamol and doctor prescribed codin. Which is only ok at the begging of pregnancy. But it made me sick.
Avatar n tn check also vitamin d level, i also used to take a lot of paracetamol for bone pains but since i started vitamin d supplement because i was severely deficent (new normal values 30-100ng/ml optimal 50-60ng/ml) all pains are gone we might also suppose that hbvdna very low or und is the reason but i do think bone pains are related to vitamin d deficency which is made by cronic viral infections, on hbv more than 95% are deficent
