in my lower spine and have been on tramadol for 2 years, then Targin (6 weeks), then oxicodone (2 weeks) and now back on tramadol since I had severe side effects with targin and oxicodone (panic attacs, depression, nausea and difficulty breathing) and have now decided to wean off the tramadol mainly because the difficulty in breathing and the associated panic attacks have stayed with me.
The smallest dose of synthroid is 25 mcg and many people split that in 1/2 for a beginning dose of 12.5. The main side effects of levo or synthroid are those of hyperthyoidism, which results from over medication, unless you are sensitive to the fillers/binders. It takes between 4-6 weeks for a med change to take effect, so what you're feeling after only 2 weeks is most likely not the synthroid, unless you are especially sensitive to meds. What are the ranges for the Free T4?
He's also extremely hungry and thirsty. I've read that all of these are possible phenobarbital side effects. How long do these usually last before the dog gets used to the medication? I'm hoping that these are not signs that something else is wrong, though I am aware of the possibilities.
I do have experience with the tramadol but never had this kind of side affect. I agree that you should talk to your doctor about this to be safe, before your surgery. Good luck to you . . this will bump up - hopefully you can get some more feedback from others that may have some experience with this.
You need to contact your Vet asap....these are serious side effects to not be overlooked...good luck.
Just curious, if the ultrasound for an ovarian cyst comes back positive do you know if there is anything that they can do to stop the bladder pressure/frequent urination? Have you talked with your GYN or urologist about what (if any) treatments exist for the cysts? Thanks.
Hello tramadol Warriors! Welcome to Part 61! Please make yourself comfortable. It's a bumpy ride. But I promise you have come to the right place if you want to get off tramadol. Forever. This is a place to find support and give support from those who really know what it is like. Understanding is essential! You can do this. And yes. Eventually you will heal!
Day 22 Cold Turkey tramadol ... I woke up HAPPY. I used to wake up happy all the time, before the tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.
Hello & thanks for the update....When do you get to start the steroids? You might as well be prepared for any side effects.....Usually, excessive thirst & urination is normal side effects.....Panting is common, but to me, means the dose is too high for the dog.... Don't panic if any of these happen.....Oh yes, makes them very hungry, too! Your Vet threw the "Brain Tumor" thing in because of the seizures...Has your dog had any more of those? Past or present?
Hello Frankie....If this is indeed a Disc injury, your dog should not be walking around on it's own.....Complete cage rest is Vital for weeks to let the disk heal......That information is posted above in this thread...... Read everything you can on IVDD (Above)....Yes, this can be reversed, but you must do it correctly.......Steroids are the first line of defense, but you also need PAIN medication along with them.......Shaking is a sign of pain......
Yes, steroids does that and many veterinarians forget to remind clients that both excessive thirst and urinating are pretty consistent side effects. Steroids are problem best for him and at a low does he can be on them long term. IF he just can't "hold it" and cannot be trusted in the house, you may have to go to NSAIDs and pain meds. Tell Dr. Cruz hello for me and I hope she can help you.
Bach's 5 Flower Rescue Remedy is a safe homeopathic mixture of five flowers that works well to calm dogs with no adverse side effects at all. Having you dog experience very mild discomfort helps her to limit her own activity which will promote healing. If you are concerned about your dogs internal health status, have a complete blood panel run.
I'm delighted to see that the new trackers are up. Here are some thoughts. EXERCISE TRACKER For starters, I've just opened this up and it's lost yesterday's data. It's great that it includes "moderate" and "vigorous" exercise (for the stationary bike); could you add "gentle"?
BTW, back to your original question, they started me out slow, I guess to get my body adjusted to the medicine, and probably also to monitor the positive and negative effects it had. Fortunately, I had no side effects. It was all beneficial. I am up to 1200 mg/day. I'm not sure any higher dose would do me any good however, but up to this point, it as been a Godsend. Good luck to you!
My hips started to feel like they were tightning together, especially the right hip. I was on couch bound on tramadol, tyelnol, and steriods (steriods just for 1 week). My chiropractor could not touch me thought I had several bulged discs. MRI showed a tiny one...which concerned my Physiatrist who ordered blood work for arthritis and lymes...etc. All negative results. And so he told me to make a Neuro appointment (that appointment took 5 weeks to book). I am going next week.
tramadol is an opioid drug and though it is great for pain relief, it has side effects, such as constipation, addiction, etc. You will need to switch to another pain-killer for the abdominal pain, but it will have to be gradual. It would be best to identify why you still have pain and recurrent UTIs after the surgery. Were you advised to have sex or masturbate after the procedure, after a follow-up examination? How much is your fluid intake per day?
I have no idea what is causing my symptoms because of all the side effects from medication interactions. Narcotics were never issued to me until recently and I can tell you that it is a very bad mix for people with Fibromyalgia! I asked my doctors to take me off all 13 medications that they prescribed. They agreed and told me to taper off slowly. I am doing just that and I am very ill right now. The withdrawal is hell! I cannot work right now.
Vioxx helped but then I developed some side effects to the Vioxx. My doctor suggested Ultram. I knew it was not considered a controlled substance. Boy do I ever wish I had taken the time to do a little more research! I only took the Ultram for 3 weeks, but I did take the maximum dose. After all I thought I was home free, right? This is really benign stuff here....no danger with Ultram.
I have been on it for a bit, slowly have gone up to 300 mg, slowly been having the wonderful weightloss side effect, but all my other side effects are oppisite of what is stated as what are probable side effects. Ok, no, I have not had any hairloss. As a matter of fact, if anything, it has been making my hair grow faster, and of that I am thankful, for I have had some mighty funky hair cuts this year. lol.
When I was 19, after failed experiments with BCP (side effects unbareable) I had an IUD inserted. Thats when my symptoms really started. Terrible cramps before and during the heaviest days of my period (now only 8 days, but for 3 days I would soak through a super plus tampon within 3 hours). Then came the shooting pains. I would feel bloated and gassy, and have the most intense shooting pain in my rectum when I was on my period.
Although hormone-replacement trials have yielded some positive results (at least in the short term), it is clear that negative side effects can also occur in the form of increased risk for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and behavior changes." "The product's leading promoter has been G. Gordon Liddy, the former Watergate conspirator who served five years in prison and now hosts a talk show syndicated to 160 radio stations." oops actually its only been a little over 2 months since surgery..
I also took Gabapentin and it did not help. I tried the Mucinex thing, and went to fibro and fitigue clinic where I spent thousands on their test and treatments. I've done all kinds of physical therapy. Like, everyone else, I've read every book I could lay my hands on. I even went to a fibro symposium in 2007 in California put on by the National Fibro Organization that was packed with info. I've been on every kind of herbal combination imaginable.
I have severe panic attacks and while I know nothing OTC will fully take the side effects away, I hope there's something out there that will at least help me. I've been a member of medhelp for quite some time now and I'm glad I have it in my time of need. Thank you all so much for being there for me, and for my peers and people of the like who are dealing with the same issues. Please feel free to give me any advice, suggestions, opinions or whatever on what you think I should do.
A doctor at a hospital in Bangkok without ever informing my father what the possible side effects of Zometa (bone pain relieving medication) could be administered it to my father. He was 74 years old. My father suffered renal failure, had to undergo dialysis and then had a ureteral stent inserted. He already underwent a replacement of the first stent. However, he has been passing a lot of blood in his urine. He will be going for blood transfusion due to him becoming anemic.
In addition, there are also more serious side effects. As for interactions with other drugs, there is a long list of medications which should not be taken in conjunction with Vicodin. Despite there having been no major studies on the use of Vicodin in pregnant women, medical advice states that this drug should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
One of the side effects of methadone is that because it causes a dry mouth...less saliva...therefore increase in tooth decay...many people on long term methadone programmes are encouraged to chew gum and drink loads of water to help prevent tooth decay. My hubby gained heaps of weight on methadone too...he's 3 weeks clean now and is starting to lose the weight he gained.
A few hours later a sore back feeling kind of like being hit in the side. Initial urination was irritating, but tolerable. Pyridium (sp?) for a couple of days will help. Do not fear removal. The apprehension is 10X worse than the actual procedure.
I never really knew what hell was until my disease process started. I think the worst part hasn't been the pain, it's been the lack of answers from the medical authorities on what is wrong with me. The Mayo clinic has turned me down for an appointment, as they don't feel there is any more they can do for me that hasn't already been done... and I'm like... NO ONE HAS DONE ANYTHING! It's a nightmare, and my wife and I are so damn frustrated by the whole thing.
