Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol in ua

He's prescribed Tramadol and Lortab (first the 5 mgs then the 7.5's) and I've had to do a UA each time I come in for refills (monthly). I had an appointment this morning, and like they always do, their receptionist even called to confirm the time I'd be there. When I arrived, the nurse took me back, got my vitals, and then asked what refills I needed.
That being said, i finished the program (7 months) and stayed clean for an additional 10 months, I kept romancing the drug, what it did for me, how it made me feel, and next thing you know, I was taking them again, I am a medical asst, so I came across the samples very easily, after about a month I was back to taking 10 a day, I was on probation, but Tramadol does not show up in urine, so I was good to go in my mind.
I recently was told by my drug counselor that because i shared info about going through withdrawls from tramadol she now says that the treatment place i ua will now b e testing for tramadol in my system. my question is is she telling the truth or is she just scaring me?
hi, just wanted to ask you a couple of things because my new doc gave me 120//50mg of tramadol tabs a couple of weeks ago--i was taking hydro 10/500's,but missed a drug (pee) test and he said "i can't give you hydrocodone, but this ultram "tramadol" should help until you get right with ua screen" man, all i've seen on this forum is bad news from this stuff.i have taken a few,but didn't get high really. anyway, how much & how long have you been taking tram?
You will get to the point where you just can't come off of it because the withdrawal is so bad. Tramadol is a dangerous drugs, in that it can cause seizures, but it is addictive for those of us who have past addiction problems, and that would be you. The fact that you took 4 to see if you could get a buzz just speaks volumes of your behavior. And your behavior is going to keep you on this merry-go-round unless you change it.
2mgs Chlonodine, 1 mg ativan (another pill i found with the tramadol)., the 200mg Seroquel ( well right now, i cut them in half i i dont need it), Its hard to pee at the clinic when they have the random urins, and that 50 mg Tramadol. I really want to know iit will work, its a waste, or will it sent me into withfdraws??? Pleae try to get back to me asap. I keep staring at the thingl please respomd quicly. Thank ou, Maradnb/ aka DJ Hotess 4.
Will this failed test also mean I can't get into the Pre-existing condition pool in my state in 6 months? I have to wait that long before even trying to apply but now am wondering if this test will prevent me from even getting that. I have read on here that others have had a false negative so am hoping maybe someone can give me some pointers on what to do and how to go about proving I am not a criminal or liar.
I don't have a constant urge, but after I urinate, I feel pain in my urethra (that's the best to describe it) for about a half hour. I saw the Neph today and they checked my urine, She said I had protein but no bacteria or blood. She is sending it for a culture to see if anything grows. Could the test if the office be negative but I still have one? Thanks!
So let me update my progress! I was in the hospital July 26th for detox after my husband found my stash and threw everything away. Previous to this happening I had already shut down all my sources to get pills, I had to let my doctor know I was an addict and to no longer prescribe me any narcotics or anything else in this group.
The VA study I have posted in my journal and refer members to was done in 2004 I believe. I continue to look for updated material on this as we do get members who have to deal with the mysterious results of a false negatives alot. I will also post this link in the health pages and journal for future reference. I have several other studies I am looking at also that addresses false negatives.

I have been off tramadol for about 65 days and fiorcet for about 15 days from a long taper, but I still have a lot of bad days. Mainly pain in my neck and back. Hurts real bad when I wake up. My back has hurt from the start of my initial withdrawal, it has gotten better, but I will still have more days with pain than without. Has anyone on here had a similar experience? I have had an x-Ray on my back and a ua but nothing shows to a problem.
Things are hell for me but I will do this for my children, I was orginally put on them after I broke my back in an atv accident severed my muscle and artery in my arm and broke my jaw. My accident has resulted in 2 major back surgeries of 23+ hrs 2 arm surgeries the first in which they were just ampuating it but my family refused to let them they told them to try harder and the drs did and my arm is on and its not a dead arm like they said it would be. and 6 jaw surgeries.
I have taken neither of these, but my mother in law takes tramadol as needed. I did vics, oxys, and hydro cough medicine. It took me 3 weeks to have energy and 6 days to withdraw. Now I have days that I'm shot and I take the lazy day-better than drugs-and utilize the good days. Taper for sure-it makes the wds alot easier. Look at the Thomas recipe-it works. Good Luck.
ago s/p SOB/syncope)nl, Heart Scan (the name of which I don't recall, but the little machine maps your heart) nl, Cortisol and HST/TSH nl, Sed Rate nl, I am down the middle in every blood panel/UA. Do you suggest ablation?
I've been off the morphine since August of this year. My doctor prescribed Tramadol ER which I knew was not going to work. It didn't touch the pain. Last Friday he prescribed Darvacet 100/650. Saturday I took it to the Pharmacy and was told that it had been recalled. Still waiting on a call from that Doc. Is this my only choice? To start back at the bottom again and work my way up to something that works? I was told that Suboxone would be good pain management. It did work well.
Did your physician prescribe the long acting or the short acting form of Tramadol? I wish you well and hope you will keep in touch. I'll look forward to your updates with interest.
Both vets thought I was wasting my time and money as my dog has only had one, maybe two ticks in his life. The latest one I located in his ear the afternoon before the appointment with the surgeon/specialist. Took the tick to our regular vet's office. Surprise: they lost it even though it was in a clearly marked ziplock bag.. Received the test results back and they were positive for Rickettsia. Vet was surprised and started on Doxycycline 25mg 2X per day for 30 days.
The tramadol did eventually kick in but it makes me really dizzy and gives me bad headaches, but I did get some relief from the other pain so I'm happy. I did go to my regular doctor about two weeks ago and he's the one that told me it was muscle spasms. It got worse about a week after I'd seen him so he suggested I go to physical therapy. I've had bad experiences with pt but agreed to try it for 2 weeks.
So I went in and saw my dr today in concerns to my ua. So the lowest level of thc that a ua picks up is 25 my thc levels were 26. He was ready to put me back on oxycodone I told him no i had made too much progress coming off of it then he tried tramadol and I said no way its addicting and he told me its not but he told me to call him when I need something to help with the pain.
I keep seeing these posts from people who are taking pain meds...Then get a random test (urine) and fail...I assume that means that there is none in your system and you are selling them... Are these people really selling ? Are they doing them to fast and are running out early ? I have run out early so when i go back in 7 days, if they test me then i would come up negetive...
I don't think I spoke with you but I am certain others have and mentioned aftercare (probably until you are blue in the face). In any case, I hope you listen and engage in some form of outside support. I don't want to see you see you back here with the posts I have seen thousands of times : "Haven't been around for a while, I relapsed". Please look into something, you now have added stress in your life and that can be a huge trigger. Take good care of yourself.
Both vets thought I was wasting my time and money as my dog has only had one, maybe two ticks in his life. I found one in his ear the afternoon before the appt. with the surgeon/specialist. However, the vet's office lost it before it could be examined/identified. Received the test results back and they were positive for Rickettsia. Vet started on Doxycycline 25mg 2X per day for 30 days.
There are pain management doctor who specialize in pain management and addictionology. My previous doctor was well educated in both fields and many are. This also helps weed out the bad apples as these doctors are qualified to see through Pt's who are out to decieve them most of the time. try and find one in your area that specializes in both areas.
My husband had begun developing peripheral neuropathy approx 4 yrs ago. His doctor simply stated that his circulation was good & did not diagnose the neuropathy or treat it. A different physician later did diagnose. He has had nerve conduction tests, anodyne therapy, was tried on neurontin, lyrica - both with no positve effect & some neg. side effects.
Neurontin is the anti-epileptic of choice when a patient presents with porphyria, because this medication is NOT metabolized in the liver. It is unlikely that either introduction or withdraw from Neurontin would result in porphyria. A clinical literature survey over the last 10 years did not show any reports of tramadol (Ultram)- induced porphyria, but this is a relatively new medication. I included a few review articles in the subject of neuropathies and porphyria.
Started on methadone in 94 for pain. I went cold turkey off 30 mg in 97 (a hell I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy). Started again in 2000 after original injury required another half dz surgeries. Was @ 140 mg until 2011, when somehow I was able to taper to 40 mg in aprox 6 wks. Still have no idea how I accomplished that so quickly & painlessly. At that point my Dr. Said there was no reason for me to push myself any further & to stay @ 40.
The doctor was an a**hole. I was on tramadol athe the VA in Huntsville, Al for DDD and ruptured disc. I moved to Kentucky and the jerk VA doctor won't give me tramadol which I had been taking for years. He put me on morphine suffate 30mg. I didn't want the morphine and I was told by the pinhead "it's the morphine or nothing". I was sick for over a year, vomiting, nasusa, etc. I went to the patients advocate three times to get off the morphine, nothing was done.
why would i go and pop a bunch of percocets in between tests...my doctor is simply awesome, she did her own UA on me and i passed with flying colors!! thank goodness for her! because if we went by the hospitals results i would have lost my suboxone and her for my doctor all because of a faulty test...i am so sorry you had to endure this from an obviously lousy doctor!
I went to see my Dr, today he suggested i take tramadol 50mg for my legs I am in so much pain I was out of work today and I have no energy what so ever. I need all the energy I could get I have 2 toddlers that are driving me insane with all this pain and having to take care of them plus a job. So please Eebb26 try your best to tapper down.
